Ch. 77 - Lost Spell
“It's nice to meet you Mr. Anthony and Miss Natasha. I am indeed named Ray Ainsworth, do you and Miss need anything from me?” Ray answered politely.
“Hahaha.. No need to be too polite Ray, you can call me Uncle Anthony. My goal here is to find out the truth about the Silver City attack some time ago.” Anthony explained his intentions and goals.
“Then I won't hesitate. If Uncle Anthony wants to know about the attack, Mr. Pytagoras should have explained it to the Witch Temple, right?” Ray responded calmly.
“Master Pytagoras has explained in his report and letter. But in the letter also Mr. Phytagoras mentions that you used one of the Lost Spells, Absolute Zero. We want to know how you did it?” Anthony asked further.
“Absolute Zero? Lost Spell's? What is it?” Ray asked confusedly. This was understandable because Lost Spell was a secret record made by the Witch Temple with limited access.
“You don't know about Absolute Zero but can use it?” Natasha asked probing after being a little confused because she felt that Ray really did not know about Lost Spell.
“Your young lady overestimated me too much, I do not know anything about Absolute Zero or Lost Spell.” Ray shook his head slowly.
“Hah? You don't know about Lost Spell and Absolute Zero? Then how do you explain the ice magic you did during the attack?” Natasha won't accept Ray's answer.
“Ice Magic? Oh, you mean when I defeated the Hellbound Lava Beast? Is that what you mean as Absolute Zero?” Ray turned around to ask Natasha.
“Ray, you really don't know about the magic you use?” Anthony can see from the conversation between Ray and Natasha that Ray does not know anything about Absolute Zero and Lost Spell.
“To be honest, I don't know what you mean about Lost Spell and Absolute Zero. But if all you want to ask is about the magic I used to defeat the Hellbound Lava Beast maybe I can still answer it.” Ray tries to explain.
“Actually I thought of this magic by chance. Uncle Anthony should know if we fly higher then the air will feel cooler, this is because there is not enough moisture to hold the hot air remains. So I did the same thing by removing water vapor in the air to make the air cool even to the freezing point.” Ray answered explaining what he was doing.
“Sweet water?” Natasha and Anthony are confused by Ray's explanation.
“I've guessed they won't understand, even though I've tried to explain in the simplest words.” Inner Ray upon seeing the idle expression of Antony and Natasha.
“Water vapor is water content that turns into air due to heat. Natasha don't you often see morning dew in a leaf?” Ray tried to explain.
“Yes, I often see leaves get wet in the morning but will dry out during the day.” Answer Natasha.
“Well, that's because water vapor builds up into water and falls on the leaves and makes them wet. However, during the day because it is exposed to heat, the leaves become dry and the water that wet them back into water vapor.” Ray continued to explain.
“So the point is you speed up the day and night conditions but you make it at a very extreme stage?” Anthony began to understand after hearing Ray's explanation.
“True, more or less like that.” Ray nodded.
“Then it becomes quite reasonable. No one could have used that magic for thousands of years, because magic imagery like this is almost impossible without perfect understanding.” Anthony understood Ray's explanation and concluded.
“Uncle Anthony, Miss Natasha. If there is nothing else, then I retreat first.”
