Ch. 23 - Conversations in a Horse Car
Ray and Elli get out of the bar and enter the horse carriage that is already in front of the bar.
"Uncle Fei, let's go." Elli talks to the chariot driver.
"Yes, young lady." Answer the coachman.
After being in the carriage Ray and Elli sit opposite, and Ray takes off his mask. Unknowingly Elli's gaze was fixed on Ray's face, as his face flushed slightly.
Ray saw Elli's small smiling demeanor, intending to tease her again. "Little lady, why do you keep looking at my face? Don't tell me you're in love with me?" Ray teases Elli.
"Who is in love with you! We sat facing each other so I looked towards you!" Elli tried to hide her embarrassment.
"really?" Ray brought his face closer to Elli, whose face was as red as a tomato.
Seeing the girl in front of him feeling embarrassed made Ray think "This woman is just pretending to look strong". Unknowingly her face was already very close to Elli.
"You what are you doing? W-your face is too close!" Elli gets more agitated as Ray's face gets closer.
Elli's embarrassed voice wakes Ray up from his daydream. When Ray realized Elli's face was already very red. Elli tried to cover up her embarrassment until her face almost sank inside her chest. Seeing Elli hold back Ray's embarrassment just laugh off.
"Haha... Elli you really look funny when embarrassed. It's so fun to tease you." Ray still laughed off seeing Elli's attitude.
Hearing Ray's ridicule, Elli grew embarrassed and annoyed. He vented his frustration by pinching and twisting the back of Ray's hand. Ray who was not ready screamed in pain.
Rubbing the back of his hand that still feels hot because of Elli's pinch. Ray changed the subject.
"Oh, by the way, whose birthday party is this? I know you rarely bring friends to bars." Ray asked to shift the topic "this little girl's pinch is quite sick" Ray murmured.
Hearing Ray's question, Elli just kept quiet as if thinking about something.
"What's up, Elli? Is your relationship bad?" Ray asked to care.
"Not really we were friends since childhood and our relationship was very good. It's just that my family is only Baron-level and he's a member of the Duke Family, so people start mocking ducks trying to be goose."
"So?" Ray just smiled at Elli's explanation.
"As I said, because our status is so different sometimes I feel inferior."
"Because you're feeling low, they're humbling you too." Ray shook his head slowly.
"Elli, listen to me. They don't live your life, so do you know what they are? If you keep thinking about what they say, won't you get tired to death?" Ray.
Ray's words made Elli a little dazed, this was the first time anyone of her age had advised her. "This guy can be good sometimes" Elli thought.
"Yes, I don't have to think about what people say." Elli smiled broadly.
"True, there is no need to think too much about the words of others. We live our lives for ourselves and not to satisfy others." Ray laughed off.
"Yes, we live for ourselves. Not to satisfy others." Elli laughed a little.
"You look more beautiful when you smile. So reduce your anger, although it's nice to see you angry but sometimes it also sucks if you're angry too much." Ray was still laughing.
"You.." Elli's forehead wrinkled. "I just thought you were a nice guy, but it turned annoying again." Elli puffed her cheeks in annoyance.
Seeing Elli pout made Ray laugh even harder.
