Ch. 154 - Demon Beast Wave II
On the other side of the battle between Vali and Little Black against two Flame Phyton tails, James and his team were facing the rampaging Bull King.
Bull King itself is a giant buffalo-shaped Demon Beast that is more than 2 meters tall with long horns that are harder than iron. Compared to the Flame Phyton the attacking ability of the Bull King was lacking greatly but the main advantage of the Bull King was its strong defense, considering the Bull King himself had a proximity to the ground element.
James, Ken, Zack, and Andy surrounded Bull King from four directions. James attacked using a sword, his movements quick and relentless. James who was in front of Bull King continued to attack him quickly and as if without pause to draw the attention of Bull King towards him.
Ken and Zack attacked from both the right and left sides of the Bull King in turn. Ken relied on his agile movements eyeing the Bull King's leg joints to weaken it and Zack attacked with his great strength making it difficult for the Bull King to retaliate.
Andy himself attacked from behind the Bull King to deliver some injuries while using his water element magic to make the ground under the feet of the Bull King become soft and unsteady in order to weaken the Bull King's footing and make it difficult to keep its position stable.
While Carrol as usual attacked the Bull King's weak and vital points with his ability as a scout and killer. Carrol managed to deal a wound to the Bull King's stomach and cut off his tail before finally finishing off the Bull King with a slash in his throat.
Lastly was a one-on-one fight between Ralf against the Silverback Gorilla, the fight was more balanced on this side. Ralf used a sword attack that was already coated in wind elements by him and attacked the Silverback Gorilla.
Ralf attacks the Silverback Gorilla's weak point, which is part of his joints and neck considering that parts of his body have scales and thick skin is also hard. Ralf's attack several times successfully held Silverback Gorilla before an attack managed to dart towards his neck to end his life.
In the fight Ralf really looked comfortable when fighting the Demonic Beasts because he already had a much richer experience compared to the others. Ralf's movements during the fight look simple but very effective to take down the Silverback Gorilla in a fairly short time.
Ralph sheathed his Long sword and shouted. “The Demon Beast Wave has been overcome! Every unharmed soldier goes to help in the medical tent and brings the injured to the medical tent immediately!”
“And you can all return to your respective tents to rest..” Ralf turned his gaze to Vali and the others.
“Thanks, Brother Ralf.” Vali replied with a slight smile then brought Little Green who had again turned into a belt ornament.

Ralf looked around where he stood and felt calm after the danger of the Demon Beast wave subsided. Ralf understood the difference between fighting against another country and fighting against a Demonic Beast, if he lost against another country maybe their territory would be taken over and as long as they did not lose to the Demon Race usually the region would only get more taxes and its citizens could still survive.
But it was different if they lost against the wave of the Demon Star, the citizens within their territory would be nothing more than a food reserve for the Demonic Beasts or might even be destroyed overnight without any survivors like the village where Ralf had lived before.
“This is really a lucky break this time, a wave of Demon Beasts as many as more than a hundred Demon Beasts led by four King Level Demon Beasts and we managed to pass through it without any casualties.” Ralf once again looked at their battleground before turning around and returning inside the Border Post.
