Ch. 118 - Trained Soldiers I

The morning at the training grounds of the Border Post of the Forest of Death. A brownish-black-haired young man with purple eyes was facing off against three soldiers in close combat training. This young man is none other than Ray Ainsworth who is now at the Border Post after an all-night fight with the group of assassins two days ago.

Ray wielded a collected iron sword devoted to training, before him stood three warriors with a shield and a sword in each hand.

“You ready?” Ray said to the three soldiers in front of him.

“Ready!!” The three soldiers answered compactly.

“Come we start!” Ray attacked one of the soldiers with a quick leap forward and managed to catch the soldier's position off guard. Ray's attack immediately threw down the shield he was holding, before the next attack hit the back of the soldier's neck and made him unconscious.

Seeing his partner fall in two attacks the other soldier attacked Ray from behind. Ray managed to anticipate the attack coming from behind and then dodged it by jumping to the side.

Ray twisted his body and with a swift movement kicked the stomach of the soldier who had just attacked him making the soldier retreat a few meters. As if not to give Ray time to breathe the last soldier attacked Ray who was still in a kicking position.

But unfortunately Ray managed to avoid with the movement of the rotating salto then kicked the head of the last soldier along with his body down. With the power of Ray's kick and the position of his body falling while doing the kick made the last soldier immediately lose consciousness.

The fight was finally finished in a short period of time with Ray's absolute victory without a fight. Ray now stands in the middle of three unconscious soldiers.

“Your coordination skills are quite good, but unfortunately you are very less alert to enemy surprise attacks. And also your attack is not at all powered.” Ray evaluated the condition of the soldiers he fought with.

The night before, Ray asked Ralf to help train the new soldiers. Ray had originally intended to refuse but after he thought back, it was better to help improve the abilities of the newly arrived warriors here given the increasingly ferocious activities of the Demon Beasts. That's why now Ray is at the training ground to train the soldiers.

The three soldiers Ray fought were arguably among the ten strongest warriors in this Border Post, but according to Ray the three were only slightly better than the messenger courier in his underground group, Dark Notes.

Ray then awakens the three people who fainted and gives a Heal Potion to them. Then Ray called all the soldiers to gather and form a row with a distance of two meters each person.

“First let me tell you your condition now. Your abilities are so bad that they're at a terrible level. These three men, for example, General Ralf said they were one of the best soldiers here. But to me they are nothing more than messengers I usually train!” Ray told a shocking reality to all the soldiers.

After Ray's words came down, all the soldiers became captured and began shouting in denial.

“What do you mean!!”

“Stop talking nonsense!”

“How can a trained soldier like us be equated with a message courier!!!”

“Who dare you speak such nonsense!!!”

Ray just kept quiet and listened to all the angry cries of the soldiers. Ray himself understood that everyone here had gone through at least three years of training in the Silver Moon Kingdom's Military School, therefore they had their own pride.

The Military School itself was a training ground for would-be soldiers and would-be generals in the Silver Moon Kingdom, although they were still inferior to the Silver Moon Academy. But someone who graduated from the Military School would usually become a military member of the Silver Moon Kingdom and was also highly respected.

But Ray did not care at all about all this nonsense, because with his own abilities Ray was already capable enough to crush all the pride that the Military School had under his feet. Ray had complete confidence in both combat skills and war strategy.
