Ch. 122 - Making the Stage
As per the schedule that Ray has planned today is when he evaluates the development of the new soldiers who have gone through training especially yesterday.
Ray arrived an hour earlier than he had set out, as he himself also needed to set up a battle arena before the new soldiers came.

After observing all the results of his work, Ray walked to sit in the stands of the land he made and sat in the highest stands.

Schnee and Syr just follow Ray's request and sit down with him. Eventually Schnee sat to Ray's right while his sister Syr sat to his right.
After they sat down together, Ray began to ask about what the two half-Elf sisters wanted to do after their condition had fully recovered. Ray also advises the two of them to follow him if they do not have a home or place to go. Ray makes this offer because he sees himself from his first life in the story of Schnee and Syr, because in his first life Ray also needs to struggle just to eat and meet his needs before finally lucky enough to get a scholarship and graduate a top university and become a scientist.
“If Mr. Ray does not mind taking us as a burden, we have no problem following Mr. Ray, after all I and Syr have no other family and our house has also been destroyed since a long time.” Schnee finally spoke up after discussing some matters with Syr.

Ray himself is still a good person, because he still often helps some people who live less fortunate as long as they want to try and change for the better. However, of course Ray's kindness is not up to such a noble-hearted hero figure in most fiction novels.
And even though Ray is good enough he is still a calculating and selfish person therefore he will make sure himself and everyone he cares about gets the best things there is in this world. Because Ray knew that if he was too kind and had no selfishness at all, he would only be taken advantage of by others, just like what Ying Yueru had tried to do to Ray before.
Finally after an hour had passed, Ralf came with the new soldiers following him in a neat row behind him. “It looks like Ralf collected them first to see some of their workout results.”
