Ch. 168 - End of Battle II
“It looks like our distance is getting further away, huh..” Vali sighed softly when he found out Ray's strength was far from what he had imagined.
“You don't have to chase after me like this, everyone in the world has something they need to do. There is nothing bad or good, nothing special, everyone has their own part in the development of this world.” Ray advised Vali to open his mind more widely.
“What do you mean Ray?” Vali is confused by what Ray has said.
“For example, farmers grow wheat and other foodstuffs which are then distributed by traders to every corner and some of it becomes a tax to run the kingdom, in return the kingdom runs a system that protects their lives.” Ray describes the workings of the world in his point of view.
“So you think everyone has their own path and destiny for the course of this world? Every thing has meaning no matter if you're weak or strong?” Vali deduces something from Ray's words.
“True, everyone has his own contribution in this world system running. They have a hand to carry out the order and improvement of our lives as civilized beings. And if human life only means strong and weak, what difference do we have with Demonic Beasts?” Ray goes back to explain to Vali and reminds him of the differences between humans and animals.
“I understand what you mean, sorry to worry you for stupid things all this time.” Vali who understands Ray's intentions immediately feels guilty, although he does not show it he always feels inferior when facing the famous genius Ray. Especially after Ray increased rapidly in the span of this year.
“I know what you're thinking, you're probably afraid of being left out because of weakness or something? Then let me tell you something, Vali. You are a strong person, at least already one of the strongest in your age, so stop comparing yourself to me or others.” Ray approached and patted Vali on the shoulder.
“I understand, thank you Ray.” Vali can finally accept Ray's explanation and starts thinking about doing what he can and stops comparing himself to others.
“I know, you can understand it well. Now we better prepare to return to the outer region and join the other group.” Ray immediately gave his group directions to return to the outer region.
Finally, Ray and his group returned to the outer region to meet the other group and spent the rest of the battle training time in the outer region to avoid any problems that might occur like the previous wave of Demon Beasts.
“M... Mr Ray, what level are you at now?” Alice asked Ray.
“Better to show it than to answer verbally.” Ray took out a crystal ball to measure his strength, after flowing out which crystal ball glowed red and gave rise to the number 317.
“Early Emperor Level?! How can you achieve it at such a young age?!” Natasha who eavesdropped on Ray's conversation was surprised to see the results of Ray's strength measurement.
“Nona Natasha, what are you fussing about? This is only the Early Emperor Level, isn't there also 2 people in your kingdom at the Emperor Level?” Ray replied indifferently while laughing casually.
Meanwhile, everyone who heard Ray's words immediately cursed in their hearts. ‘Fucking monster! You think anyone can be a strange creature like you!’
“Hachi... I don't know why I feel like you guys are thinking such a disrespectful thing about me.” Ray sneezed before staring at everyone as if finding them talking about it behind his back.
Everyone in the group other than Ray immediately coughed in his own choking breath before laughing awkwardly as if they were caught making a mistake.
