Ch. 149 - The same life
Ray intended to rush to the Blood Qilin at the same time he saw Ralf also heading in the same direction as him. “General Ralf!” Ray shouted to Ralf.
Ralf who heard Ray's call slowed his pace and headed towards Ray. “Why did you call me? And get rid of those useless formalities at a time like this!”
“I think you better go back to the Border Post, it's possible that the effect of our fight is to attract the attention of the Demonic Beasts from the outskirts of the Deathly Forest and without a leader in the Border Post maybe we'll end up bad.” Ray explains why he called Ralf.
“But are you sure you can stop the creature itself Ray?” Ralf was still hesitant to leave Ray alone to face off against the Blood Qilin.
“I can assure you that I have enough ability to escape without any injuries, but to defeat him there may only be a 50 percent chance for me.” Ray tries to convince Ralf that he will be okay.
“If so, it was me-“ Ralf trying to reject the idea of Ray who he thought was quite careless.
“I have the confidence to stay safe while facing this creature, I have a 100% guarantee about it! But what if there was a wave of Demon Beasts attacking the Border Post? Are you sure a soldier without a good command can survive that?!”
Ray immediately chimed in with Ralf's words in a firm and loud tone even before Ralf could finish his words. Ralf still wants to argue with Ray's decision, because even how he can not ignore the security of Ray who is still a member of the royal family even though Ray himself rejected the status.
“Listen, Ralf. You can't keep thinking that stupid way, my life is just a life and yours and the other soldiers. In this life no one is born different they are born with the same, just luck everyone is different.” Ray, who knows Ralf's way of thinking, tries to convince him.
“I'm just luckier than most people because I have the blood of a royal family member and have the support of Grandpa Estas and the Rogue family behind me. Whereas in other respects we are still the same, we have the same physique and only one life. So stop comparing between one life and another!!”
Meanwhile, Ralf who received a reprimand and a shout from Ray pecked for a moment, every word that was issued Ray still ringing in his head. From the beginning Ralf was only an orphan from a village that was wiped out by a Devil Beast attack, he was lucky to get Estas' help to study at the Military School until he finally graduated and became a general now.
From the very beginning Ralf began his training in the Military School, he had always been given emphasis on loyalty and protecting his superiors and the royal family from the Silver Moon Kingdom. Ralf appreciates the training the Military School provided and the help Estas provided him, therefore he unknowingly thinks about Ray's safety beyond his duties as a general.
“All lives are born equal... We only differ in terms of ‘luck’... Hash... Most nobles have arrogance and are always condescending to others, but Mr. Estas and his family never discriminate against someone based on his status... And now there is Mr. Ray who views every life as equal.” Ralf smiled slightly before turning towards the Border Post.
“Same life... only ‘luck’ different..it seems like Mr. Estas and Mr. Julius have an amazing descent..” Ralf muttered softly before speeding up his pace to return to the Border Post.

This is a new chapter for you... Well, I write this when I can't sleep and it seems like I'm having insomia now because I've had too much trouble sleeping at night.
