Ch. 156 - End of Battle II
“Geh... Ray why are you here? Isn't it that you are facing the Blood Qilin who is at the Early Emperor Level?”
Vali was surprised by Ray's sudden appearance, he thought it should still take Ray a few more hours to defeat the Blood Qilin which was a Divine Beast.
“You fucking guy! Do you wish I died outside?! Do you want to get beat up!”
Ray is upset by Vali's stupid behavior this time. Ray could have relaxed a little because he thought Vali would only ask Little Green to fight outside, but now he saw that his cousin had a lot of burns.
“Hah.. Nah! Of course not! I'm glad you're back, but it's just that I'm surprised because you came back so soon!”
Vali answered quickly, knowing that Ray was angry right now and in a bad mood. Vali does not want to experience endless suffering because it makes Ray more upset than ever.
“Vali! Do you remember what I told you when I left Little Green on you?” Ray asked Vali seriously.
“Yeah, that... If we encounter a problem that the instructors and teachers of the academy cannot handle, you ask me to call Little Green to protect our group.” Vali replied in a low tone.
“Now what I see here! You almost became a walking mummy with all the bandages to cover your burns? Did you leave your brain in Silver City and seek death here?!” Ray stared intently at Vali.
If a gaze could kill someone Vali might have died over and over again, Ray was really worried about this cousin of his. Vali is usually an intelligent person and always understands his own limits, but sometimes there are times when he is consumed by his ego to become stronger and does not want to burden the person he cares about.
“It...” Vali wants to say something but in the end swallows he says back, he's in the wrong position now for not listening to Ray's arrangements properly and getting himself hurt.
“Stop talking nonsense! Look at your condition now! If you die from this wave of Demon Beasts, what should I say to Aunt Eva?!”
Ray interrupted Vali and again snapped at him, this time he was really angry at Vali. “This idiot! Can't he put his ego in the right place? Why make himself ruined like this!” Bump Ray with annoyance in his heart.
“Hah... Sorry, about this... I won't do anything stupid like this again.” Vali bowed his head and said weakly in a tone full of resignation.
“Sigh... Take this and drink it immediately.” Ray took out a high grade Recovery Potion and gave it to Vali.
The reason Ray gave Vali Recovery Potion was because when Ray examined his body he could find a small damage to Vali's mana circuit that made the mana flow in his body become chaotic and irregular.
“You fool! You still don't know why I'm so angry! If it's just a burn I don't really care! But you used too much mana to injure which circuit belongs to you! If not treated properly then your development will come to a halt here!”
Ray who had calmed down a little again peaked with anger when he heard Vali's stupid words. In Ray's mind, he actually cursed Vali for all his stupidity right now.
“Ah, the... Thanks..” Vali wanted to say something but ended up choosing to be quiet and just thank you.
“Then I leave now, there are still many people who need help..” Ray sees Vali to make sure he is and tells Schnee to follow him. “Schnee, follow me heal the other soldiers..”.
“Good.” Schnee nodded and followed Ray out of the tent.
After Ray and Schnee came out of the tent, Vali was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. Finally Vali felt free from the terrible tantrums of his cousin. “Finally, Ray went..”.
“This is the first time I've seen Ray so angry... Totally different from his usual casual attitude look.” Miria who had been silent from the beginning chimed in on Vali.
“He is always relaxed in the face of something because he has taken everything into account from the beginning and even made some backup plans if bad things happen... But he was really angry this time because I jumped out of the safe scenario he had already made and got unnecessary injuries.” Vali said slowly.
Miria who heard Vali's words only nodded in agreement, as she also understood the way Ray acted.
After that, Vali drank the Recovery Potion to recover the condition of his injured body with the help of Miria.
