Ch. 132 - The Past of Schnee

Inside Ray's private tent.

Right now Ray is sitting while drinking tea in a wooden chair with a circle-shaped table in front of him. Across from Ray's seat, Schnee and Syr sat next to each other sipping tea that Ray had just brewed.

“So Schnee, can you tell me how you can get that dark energy?” Ray opened up about the black energy sealing which belonged to Schnee.

“I don't know where to start my story. Five years ago Syr and I were still living with our parents in a remote village that was on the border between Qin Empire and Blood Sun Empire before some black-clothed people attacked the village we...” Schnee began recounting her nausea from five years ago when they were homeless and their parents.

Schnee started her story from when five years ago they lived in Xin Village which was on the border of Qin Empire and Blood Sun Empire, respectively, before being attacked by a group of black-clothed people with extremely extraordinary dark magic abilities. Because of the attack they had to leave the village and lose their parents.

Then after Schnee and Syr managed to escape at the sacrifice of their parents who were holding the group in black clothes to give them time to escape, one of the black-clothed group members shot dark magic towards Syr and eventually Schnee reflexively protected her sister and fell victim to the dark magic attack.

At first Schnee did not feel anything strange other than her body that had difficulty moving because it was bound by a black rope that held back her body movements, but Schnee was still able to run despite feeling very sick. After running and running for a few days without direction, Schnee and Syr find an old house empty and decide to rest in it.

After staying for a few days inside the old house, finally the black rope that made Schnee sick and difficult to move slowly disappeared, up to three days later the black rope completely disappeared and left a black snake mark that coiled to form a figure eight while biting its own tail on Schnee's left chest and then Schnee absolutely could not using his mana.

Ray listens to Schnee's story from the beginning seriously, Ray's countenance not changing at all even when hearing of Schnee and Syr's parents' deaths. It wasn't that Ray was cold-hearted or anything like that, but in this cruel world such a thing had happened so often. In addition, Ray believes that Schnee and Syr's parents must have died without regret because they died to protect something more precious than their own lives, namely their two daughters.

After listening until the black rope part that appeared after Schnee was hit by a magic attack from the black-clothed man, Ray began to find clues as to what energy was inside Schnee's body. But Ray chose to continue listening to Schnee's story because the data he had was still not enough.

Then Schnee told me about her escape for a few days and the black rope that disappeared over time and finally vanished after three days and formed a circular black snake mark forming a figure eight and biting its own tail. After hearing this part of the story, Ray believes that Schnee was exposed to black magic which is a curse magic and dark energy in her body is a curse.

“Schnee, did you know about the black-clothed group that attacked your village?” Ask Ray.

“I have absolutely no idea where they are from, which I know they are dressed in black and wearing a mask on his face.” Schnee replied after trying to recall their traits.

“Haish... It's more troublesome than I thought.” Ray rubbed his forehead while letting out a long breath.

“What do you mean Ray?” Schnee asked puzzled by Ray's change in attitude.

“What?! Black magic?! It is not that only the Demon Race can use such magic?!” Schnee asked in shock.

“True, only the Devil Race and its descendants can use black magic like this.” Ray confirmed Schnee's words while nodding.

“Then who attacked our village is the Devil Race? But how could they pass through the heavily guarded border fortress of Qin Empire?!” Schnee's mind went awry with all the information she received from Ray.

“Let me allow a little bit of your guesswork, they are not the Devil Race but its descendants.” Ray's words are short.

“The descent? You mean the Half-Demon Race? Not that they had already been exterminated after the great war a thousand years ago for being a disgrace and insult to other races?” Schnee asked in confusion.

“True, they're a Half Devil Race. I don't know how there's still a survivor among them, but I can assure you that their group has the ability to infiltrate into the kingdom or empire easily without the guards knowing.” Ray explained with a low sigh, he never thought that the group he was looking for was even stronger than he expected.

“It seems that I still have to increase my strength and also my subordinates so that we are ready enough to face the disaster that is coming.” Inner Ray in his mind.

Meanwhile, Schnee still showed her face full of surprise and confusion. All the information he knew was overwhelming to a village girl who was only slightly smarter than her age. On the other hand, Syr simply could not understand the direction and weight of the conversation between Schnee and Ray.

“If what you're saying is the truth, then maybe there will be another big war tone soon Schnee finally managed to calm herself down and let out a long sigh.

“Kakak? What do you mean?” Syr who had been silent from the beginning finally asked with a puzzled face.

“It's okay, you don't have to think about this too much.” Schnee smiled back.

“Better we stop thinking about things that are still far away and let's focus on healing the curse that is inside you first.” Ray discards thoughts of a future disaster and chooses to focus on healing Schnee from the curse she received first.

“So you can cure Brother Schnee?” Syr instantly removed his confused face and asked excitedly.

Meanwhile Ray who saw his rapid change of attitude almost dropped his jaw. “The mood of this girl changes faster than reversing the pages of the book.” Inner Ray in the heart.

“I can't guarantee it, but there's still a chance. So let me check it out first.”
