Ch. 21 - Royal Eyes
Ray wears his mask and walks into a room behind the bartender's desk. As he opened the door Alex was talking to a middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man closed one eye, the man also had an elongated scar that almost cut his mouth off. From the aura coming out of the man Ray could make sure he was as strong as Alex or even stronger. Alex and the middle-aged man realized Ray had already entered the room.
"Ray introduce this is Mr. Aaron one of the three leaders of Shadow Blood. Mr. Aaron this is Ray you're looking for." Alex introduces Ray and Aaron.
"As Mr. Alex mentioned, my name is Aaron." Aaron reached out his hand towards Ray.
"I'm Ray, one of the leaders of the Dark Note." Ray welcomes Aaron's hand.
As they shake hands, Ray and Aaron check each other's status and strength levels. Aaron slightly raised his eyebrows knowing Ray's strength, "this guy is terrible" Aaron thought. While Ray is surprised to see the status of Aaron, in the status of Aaron his name can not be read and there is a Skill that makes Ray quite surprised that Body Augmentation.
Body Augmentation was a skill that his uncle Ernest Dragnir had developed for the Silver Moon Kingdom's elite army. "It's impossible for this skill to leak out after uncle's death given Grandpa Estas' habits, in other words this person is actually a member of the kingdom's elite forces" Ray thought.
"What was the purpose of Mr. Aaron meeting me?" Ray tries to hide his expression and asks for Aaron's destination.
"I just want to know, what item did you give Vali Rogue in the Silver Moon Pavilion?" Aaron asked while increasing his aura.
"Calm down, you don't have to worry. It's just a little letter between acquaintances." Ray smiled faintly, he was still calm without a change in expression.
"Contactments? How does an underworld guy like you know Vali Rogue?"
"As I said we're old acquaintances. You don't need to know how we know, and I'm not so crazy as to want to hurt Estas Rogue's granddaughter."
"For a while I believed your words. The second thing I want to ask is did you find out about the big explosion that happened two months ago?"
"I don't know it." Ray put on a flat face, as if not knowing the incident.
"You're not hiding anything, are you?" Aaron increases his aura again, but it has no effect on Ray.
"I don't have to hide anything from you. Because I could kill you and shut the witnesses up if I wanted to." Ray was still smiling and killing intent came out of his body.
During these two more months apart from doing Blacksmithing Ray also hunting hundreds of Demon Beasts making the murderous aura that came out of it extremely terrifying. Even being able to suppress Alex and Aaron who are in one room with him.
"Your strength is indeed terrible, maybe only Mr. Estas and a few people can match your strength. But just strength isn't enough to scare me." Aaron's aura increased to the maximum to withstand Ray's pressure.
"Indeed worthy of an elite army of the kingdom, your courage is commendable." Ray praised Aaron's bravery.
On the other hand Aaron immediately moved away from Ray, and looked at him with alarm.
"When did you know?"
"From the beginning, let me tell you I have an Analyze Skill."
"So you want to finish me off here?"
"Why kill you? I don't have much energy to waste. I just want to know what your relationship is with my late uncle Ernest Dragnir?" The cold and pressing aura that Ray exuded disappeared, making Alex and Aaron feel even more relieved.
"What did you say? You're Mr Ernest's nephew? You're Ray Ainsworth?" Aaron is quite surprised to learn Ray's identity.
Ray nodded slowly with a smile, Ray's gaze still pointing at Aaron but his face had turned more serious.
"I used to be one of the generals under Mr. Ernest. During the battle fifteen years ago I lost my left eye, so I retreated from the front line and worked as a royal spy." Aaron explains his relationship with Ernest.
"So so" murmured Ray. "Please keep a secret about my whereabouts, temporarily let my status remain 'lost person'." Ray continued
"I will do as the young master wishes."
"For the time being I need to do something, so I won't return to Rogue's House. Please tell my aunt and the rest of my family that it's okay and ask them to keep it a secret for a while." Pinta Ray on Aaron.
"Young master can leave this matter to me."
"Thank you, you'd better leave so that no one gets suspicious."
"Good." Aaron disappeared from the room like he had never been before.
"He's even very good at using Stealth." Mumbled Ray.
