Ch. 20 - Large Schemes
After arranging his meeting with Vali Ray leaving the Silver Moon Pavilion. Ray intends to go to the Dark Note to ascertain the information he got a month ago.
One month ago Ray got all the information about Mark Von Ainsworth over the past 20 years. All the information from 20 years to 16 years ago is no problem, but starting from 16 years ago the information looks very strange. There are parts that contradict each other, and there are parts that look so perfect that there are no gaps.
The inconsistency of this information makes Ray think there must be something wrong with Mark. After making an outline hypothesis about Mark, Ray thought that Mark was only used as a puppet and scapegoat to distract. Ray decides to check Mark's residence, and he discovers that the real Mark is dead and his body is infested with controlling insects.
Ray determines this controlling insect already controlled Mark at least more than ten years ago, in other words Mark may have been a puppet while raping his mother.
The controlling insect will absorb its host's life energy for 5 years before being able to fully control it. In addition, this insect is difficult to detect because it has the same magic waves as its host. Ray managed to find it by using his Divine Sense coupled with his Analyze.
After Mark had long been controlled made Ray think about the man behind the scenes. The controlling insects have a habitat in the Southern Continent in other words this person must be related to the Demon Race.
Ensuring his hypothesis is correct, Ray goes to the Dark Note and has his members investigate every single odd thing that happened in the last 16 years up until now. Ray also emphasized the increasing information about the death of Ernest Dragnir and the suspicious behavior of Mark Von Ainsworth. According to Ray there must be a connection between his uncle's death and Mark's being controlled.
"Who would have thought of living in this world I would also have to deal with these troublesome things." Ray sighed, but he still felt lucky at least his life was better than his previous life.
After gathering all the records of the information that was on the table and tidying it up, Ray stood up and walked out of his room.
After joining Dark Note Ray gets his own special room inside the bar. Actually the room that Ray was given was the first place he came to the Dark Note to buy information.
As he exits the room, Ray meets Elli, who is seen standing outside the room waiting for him.
"Grandfather's waiting for you." Elli talks ketus.
"Old Brother Alex deliberately emptied this bar? Are there any special guests?" Ray asked Elli.
"Mr Aaron one of the three Shadow Blood leaders is visiting."
"Why are Shadow Blood people visiting?"
"He wants to see you, now Grandpa is accompanying Mr. Aaron in his room."
"Meet me? I don't think they're gonna find out about me fast enough." Ray shook his head.
"Here you go, you just need to see him right away. And they'll go right away."
"Little lady, why are you so thin when you talk to me? You're not coming to the moon, are you?" Ray teases Elli.
"You're the moon!" Elli snorted annoyed.
"It seems to be true. Little lady, I want to spend the moon for you." Ray smiled meaningfully.
"You're the one I'm gonna kick out!!! Go see that guest!!!" Elli yelled in annoyance.
Ray just laughed loosely leaving Elli who was still upset.
