Ch. 13 - The deal
"Old man, I have a deal for you. Are you interested?"
Ray unleashes his aura and bids Alex.
"You're proposing a deal or a threat?"
"Of course this deal isn't a threat, you can use the blood contract to make sure of it."
"What deal do you have?"
"This is not a bad deal. You've realized that I have power at the King's level, haven't you?"
"I'm aware of it as well, but your strength is only at the lower classes of the King's Level."
"That's true, but you should also be aware that even the Silver Moon Kingdom only has two King Level people. What do you think if I help protect your organization?"
Alex was quite surprised by Ray's offer. If his organization had one person at the King Level, then their strength would increase to at least two great powers of the underground world.
Moreover, with the information gathering abilities of the Dark Note, they would arguably be the most fearsome force in the underground world. And almost no organization would want to offend them.
"What are your terms?" Alex realizes that Ray will not do anything to harm himself.
"I have three terms in fact, if you agree then this deal works."
"Say your terms."
"First I want to join the Dark Note, and my position will be on the same level as yours." Ray made his first condition.
"Well, I agree to the first condition." Alex agrees to Ray's first terms.
"Secondly, I need the Dark Note's help to take care of some minor issues that I can't solve directly. And thirdly I want all the information about Mark Von Ainsworth over the last 20 years."
"Second terms I can agree, for the third condition we will provide all the information we have. But it might not satisfy you." Alex hesitated a little.
Beyond Alex's expectations, Ray is not very demanding on his terms. You could say there will be no difference in the Dark Note, other than having two leaders.
On the other hand Alex felt that if Ray joined the Dark Note it would be much more profitable for him. Alex feels with Ray joining the security and development of the Dark Note will be faster.
"Are you sure of this deal?" Alex still doesn't believe in this deal.
"Old man do you think this deal doesn't benefit me?"
"How does this benefit you, boy?"
"There are two benefits to me. First, I can reduce the small work I need to do by giving it to my subordinates. Second, I'll have the power base to guarantee my life."
"So you want to say even with your strength. If you only work alone, you still feel your life is not guaranteed?"
"Well, more or less like that."
"So why are you making such a mess in this place?" Alex raises his eyebrows, he feels played with by Ray.
"To prove my strength, and make you rethink to make trouble for me." Ray smiled thinly.
Alex laughed at Ray's explanation. He never thought he would meet someone as crazy as Ray. Just think about it he came and almost blew up their base just to show his strength.
"Hahaha~~~ boy you're more interesting than I imagined. All right, you'll be the second leader of the Dark Note and the information you're asking for will be ready as soon as possible."
"Do we need to make a blood contract?"
"Necessary, not necessary. I trust you, besides I can't beat you either and it's better to have one more ally than the enemy."
"Alright, since the deal was reached Miss Elli you can go back to your grandfather. When I'm done sending my information there, I've arranged everything." Ray throws a paper with the address on it, then disappears from the bar.
