Ch. 175 - The Battle of Asa I
Currently James was standing in front of an Emperor-level Demon Beast. This animal has a body like
the lion, while having a pair of hands with long hooves that resembled the claws of a savage beast. The body of the Demon Beast had a humanoid or half human form with a pair of reddish-black wings and a tail that was shaped like a snake.
James tried to keep his composure while standing in front of the Demon Beast. Meanwhile, above James a black dragon with a length of almost 100 meters was hovering while staring at the Demon Beast in front of him warily. At the same time James used his newly mastered Appraisal skill under Ray's training.

“I've prepared myself to fight against this Emperor-level Demon Beast. But still standing in front of him made me tremble a little.” James clasped his sword tightly as he stared at the Demonic Beast in front of him.
“What I really think! All I need to do is hold this huge beast for as long as possible until the others have time to escape.” James directly attacked the Demon Beast with a vertical slash upwards.
James' attack was quite fast, but the Flame Chimera managed to dodge it easily. Little Black who saw the direction the Flame Chimera dodged immediately came charging in by throwing several balls of destruction energy, he said, which was almost perfectly avoided by the Flame Chimera when the final strike hit one of its wings which made it fall to the ground.
Little Black who had fought a lot with Ray had understood some combat tactics, because this time the one who had to fight the Flame Chimera was James. Little Black decided to eliminate his opponent's flying ability, as James's ability would be greatly reduced when fighting a flying Demonic Beast.
“Good work Little Black.” James immediately attacked the fallen Flame Chimera due to Little Black's attack.
However, the Flame Chimera waved her hand and the fire blade emanating from her hand hit James heavily. Luckily, James swiftly used his sword to fend off the fire blade from the Flame Chimera's hand and save himself from danger.
“Damn it, even after losing his wings he is still so strong on land.” James managed to balance himself from the impact of the Flame Chimera attack.
Meanwhile Little Black flicked his tail to attack the Flame Chimera. Little Black's sudden attack managed to hold back the Flame Chimera by crossing both of his hands.
The Flame Chimera waved her hand repeatedly forming several tens of fire blades that pointed at Little Black, but Little Black swiftly avoided all the fire blades of the Flame Chimera by shrieking its long body and flying far upwards.
“Grrr..” The Flame Chimera incubated in fury upon seeing Little Black successfully come out of his attack unharmed.
James who saw the opportunity that was before his eyes, would not waste it at all. He moved swiftly and slashed at the back of the Flame Chimera which was filled with snake scales.
“clang!!!” The sound of metal colliding rang out loudly.
“Damn it! Is ********this cannot be killed?!” James cursed in his mind, at the same time James crossed his sword in front of his body and held his sword with two hands.
“Bam!!” A punch landed towards James, the Flame Chimera who had previously received James' attack with her back turned and unleashed a crushing blow towards James who was lucky to be able to hold onto it while bouncing backwards.
“Urgh... uhuk James groaned in pain as his waiting plowed into one of the nearby cliffs. He took out his highest grade Health Potion and downed it directly.
“This is really a bad state, at first I thought there was still a chance to defeat this huge beast after Little Black eliminated his heavy abilities. But now it seems like holding it for a few hours has become an incredible thing for me.” James stood back up and raised his sword, this time he only intended to buy time and injure the Flame Chimera as much as possible.
James again dashed towards the Flame Chimera and by utilizing his footwork as well as the energy of the stomp as he leaped forward dealt an even stronger blow to the Flame Chimera.
“Baaaaammm!!!” a huge explosion occurred during the collision between James' attack and the Flame Chimera's attempt to hold him back.
