Ch. 135 - A Week Later II

Ray walked towards the main gate followed by Schnee and Syr behind him. Unlike when he first came to the Border Post, Ray is now recognized by almost all Border Post residents. In addition, almost everyone at the Border Post had great respect for Ray when he learned that the new training method used for their training was a gift from Ray. Also, the soldiers here already know that Ray is a foster relative of Estas Rogue who is a Commander-in-Chief and also a Duke.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Ray.”

“Good afternoon, Mr.”

Every time Ray passed by a group of soldiers, they always lowered their heads in salute towards Ray. In return Ray simply nodded and smiled to return their greetings. Despite being aware of the difference between this world and his home world, Ray still felt awkward whenever people paid respect to him because of his status and nobility.

Schnee who saw Ray felt awkward because of the respect from many people could only smile a little because she found this to look funny and strange. Schnee had actually seen many nobles while she was still wandering in Qin Empire, but had only first seen someone who remained simple, clear-sighted, and was also not as honor-crazy as Ray.

Schnee had already seen many nobles in Qin Empire with a proud and arrogant nature. In addition, most of them are status and honor crazy people who often differentiate someone based on their status. Of course there were nobles who were good enough because they did not discriminate people based on their status but that was only a small part of them and all of them were still someone who was proud of their status.

On the other hand, Schnee sees Ray as someone who sees everyone as equal and judges them based on their sincerity and the way they treat others. This makes Ray look very opposite to the nobles known to Schnee. And because of Ray's nature, Schnee unhesitatingly asks Ray to make himself and Syr her servants because Schnee believes Ray will not use his status to make things worse for Schnee and Syr. This was also in the form of Schnee and Syr's return to save their lives.

It didn't take long for Ray and his entourage to finally reach the main gate of the Border Post. After giving directions to the gatekeeper, Ray picked up a small tent as a place to wait for James and his group to return.

“So, Schnee. How are you doing now?” Ray started the conversation.

“Thanks for your help. My condition has fully recovered and only needs to get used to the use of large area magic.” Schnee.

“Good if it is like that, you should be fully recovered in a few more days.” Ray smiled a little.

“Hm..” Schnee nodded back and smiled.

Then Schnee, Syr, and Ray discuss various things since they first met that make Ray feel awkward because considering he tried to peek at them taking a bath during their first meeting. However, Ray was able to hide his emotional changes well and keep the incident hidden from the two Half Elf sisters.

Ken and Zack are working with each other to keep going. Meanwhile, James was carrying two of his colleagues, Andy and Carrol, who suffered injuries to one of their legs. Amongst their group, James could be considered as the one in the best condition since he only had a few small wounds behind his armor that were shattered.

“It looks like you guys got a lot of trouble while in the Deathly Forest.” Ray welcomes James and his group.

“At least we managed to complete the test from you, mr.” James smiled, then waved his hand to take out a pile of Demon Beast heads of various sizes.

In a glance Ray could determine the level of every Demon Beast that successfully exterminated James and his group. The total demon beasts that James had hunted and his group within a day were 2 King Level Demon Beasts, 15 God Level Demon Beasts, 30 Tier 1 to 9 Demon Beasts.

“Hahaha ... Looks like you guys made it. Although it looks like you guys are almost dead too.” Ray laughed loudly as he looked at the pile of Demon Beast heads.

“Of course we can finish it, we have trained hard in this one week.” James responded with respect and a hint of fear as he recalled Ray's supposedly insane training methods.

James could still vividly remember every training Ray had given him and his group.

On the first day, Ray brought a group of starving Beasts. Originally James and his group did not understand what Ray was trying to do, because with the power of a Beast Beast that had yet to transform into a Demon Beast it was only equivalent to a Tier 3 Demon Beast at most. But of course it would be a different case when all those Demon Beasts were starving. Then Ray made them wear four hand and foot ballast bracelets that weighed 50 kilograms each. And not only did he get there, Ray made them fight with the Beast in that condition.

After surviving the first day of training, James and his group are greeted with their second hell. Ray makes a giant magic circle that increases gavitation by ten times, and by using the same load as the first day. So James and his group had to do 100 Push ups, 100 Sit ups, and 100 Squat jumps with a load of more than two tons suspended on their bodies.

On Day Three, Ray ties James and his group together before taking them to the outer regions of the Deathly Forest without weapons and armor. Then Ray doused their bodies with fresh blood and then made a sound to attract the crowd of Demon Beasts. James and his group who were in unarmed condition could only run all day just to survive the bite of a Demon Beast.

Then Day Four, the training given by Ray was fairly easy because James and his group only needed to practice the basic sword and fight by wearing the same weight as the first day. So that on this day, both James and his group could take a breath for a moment and have enough time to recuperate.

However, they instantly felt dropped back into hell the next day. Ray created a ten-fold gravity magic circle and made James and his group train their sword skills on top of it while using a 50-kilogram load on each of their arms and legs. In addition, Ray unhesitatingly threw a fireball at the person who was loosening during the practice.
