The After The Rain

The After The Rain
Don't Touch Her

"Don't touch my girlfriend,"

Kinara had no idea where Sekala had come from. Clearly, the man did not come from the front door because he did not see his presence at all. He thought the man had entered through the back door.

Along with Sekala's arrival, the three female customers rushed out, trying to withdraw from a conflict they did not know why.

"Mas," Kinara whispered, trying to pull Sekala's arm away from Atha because now she could feel bad tension between the two men of different ages.

However, Sekala instead let go of her hand in a slow motion, looking at her fixedly as if to say that everything would be fine, as long as she believed in the man.

"You go back, rest. Let me settle here," said Sekala softly, with a sincere smile.

Kinara. He could not have left Sekala, much less to settle his problems with Atha. The man knew nothing, it was unfair that he had to put that responsibility on Sekala.

After all, his position here is only as an employee, it is inappropriate if he has to trouble his boss for personal matters that should not be brought to work.

"Kin, please obey me, just this once." Both Sekala's voice and gaze were still as gentle as ever, but Kinara clearly knew that the current Sekala did not accept rejection at all.

So, with a heavy heart, Kinara left Sekala and Atha, walking straight towards the staff room after once again turning her head.

Sekala looked at Kinara's departure, making sure the girl entered the staff room and could no longer hear the conversation between herself and this young man who knew who she was.

"I don't know what your relationship is with Kin, but please don't bother him again from now on." Sekala said right after he turned his head back to the figure of the young man before him. His gentle gaze instantly vanished, replaced with a sharp gaze that felt so piercing to the bone.

"Who, how can you say that?" challenge the young man, returning his gaze with no less fierce.

Responding to that, Sekala remained calm. "You deaf?" sarkas Sekala, a slanted smile is singled out as a form of provocation against his interlocutors. "I told you, I'm Kin's girlfriend. How many times do I have to repeat? Oh, or maybe you don't understand human language?"

"Not to be shy. Kinara just broke up from me, there's no way she's got a boyfriend anymore."

Smiling with disdain. It turned out, this disheveled young man before him was Kinara's ex-lover? In that case, he would be grateful that Kinara had broken up from the humans as disrespectful and rude as this young man. Because for him, Kinara deserves a better man.

"Why is it not possible? You've broken up, there's nothing wrong with Kin having a new girlfriend." Keep trying to calm down. Then, he took a step forward, eroding the distance between himself and Atha, only to cast a more intense and intimidating gaze.

"I don't know what you broke up for, and don't want to know the truth. I just ask, never to appear again in front of Kin let alone force him like that." He said, right in front of Atha's face. "Because if I see you doing that again, I won't hesitate to break your arm."

Then back off again. Count to six in his heart before he finally returned to his voice.

"Now, you better go. Or do I want to call the police?"

Atha clenched his hands beside the body. His hardened jaw muscles held back emotions. Finally, as he could not do much, he turned his back and hurried away from the cafe before his feelings got worse and he could start making a fuss.

Sekala observed Atha's every move, making sure the young man would not suddenly turn around and attack him.

Then, after he made sure that Atha was really gone, Sekala rushed after Kinara to the staff room.

...****************...

Due to an incident in Orion, Sekala insists on driving Kinara home in the girl's car and has Jeremy tail them in his car.

He was still worried that the young man would block Kinara on the street, or even wait at the girl's house. So, he better make sure with his own eyes that Kinara makes it inside the house safely.

Along the way, Sekala did not speak. He also did not demand Kinara to explain anything, because he thought he did not have the right to know what the problem was between the girl and the young man.

"Tomorrow to take it off, let me handle it at the cashier's table." Sekala's first sentence finally came out after the car he drove entered the courtyard of Kinara's house.

The car was parked, then he turned to look at Kinara who still did not reply.

"Kin?"

"I'm fine, Mas Kala,"

"Kin," Sekala stared fixedly at Kinara's bead of eyes. From there, there were so many feelings. Scared, sad, angry. Everything gathered together into one, Sekala knew it. So, what nonsense if Kinara says he's okay.

"Take it off, while I make sure the man won't come to Orion again." It was an absolute order, which although said in a gentle tone, could still make Kinara's guts shrink.

Eventually, Kinara relented. His head nodded faintly along with the long breath he exhaled.

After Kinara agreed to his orders, Sekala was not immediately relieved. His gaze now fell on Kinara's arm that had been gripped roughly.

"Your hand is still sick?" he asked, while looking further if there was a wound that escaped his sight.

"Slightly," Kinara's great-grandson, made Sekala look back at him.

Sighs, then looks back at Kinara's arm which when viewed from the outside actually looks fine. "Other times, if I'm not at the cafe and someone is bothering you, yell, Kin. Call Jeremy or Dimas, don't worry, they'll be happy to help you."

"I just don't want to make a fuss, Mom. Besides, it's a personal matter."

"To ask them for help does not mean you have to explain what problems exist between you and the young man." When Sekala's gaze returned to him, Kinara felt the flow of oxygen in her body suddenly become uneventful.

"Father leave you to me, Kin. So, while in Orion, you were my responsibility. Please cooperate so that I don't disappoint you."

For tens of seconds, Kinara did not answer. The girl even drew a glance, anchoring it to the two hands that were clinging to each other on the lap.

If these were ordinary days, Sekala would not mind waiting for anything until Kinara would open his voice. But since it was night and the girl had to go into the house to rest, Sekala immediately broke the silence by making a sound.

"Kin?"

"Yes, Mas Kala. Next time, I'll ask for help." Kinara still refused to look at him. But Sekala did not mind at all. The important thing is that the girl understood the meaning of his words.

"Yes, now you go inside and take a break." Declared.

Kinara according. With a shunt, the girl removed the seatbelt wrapped around her body then opened the door and immediately exited. He paused briefly at the side of the car, waiting until Sekala followed him down and handed him the car keys.

"If you want to be picked up tomorrow to go to college, let me know." Sekala said after the key to the car Kinara moved into the hands of the owner.

"Yes. Yes, I went in. Mas Kala the same Mas Jeremy carefully went home."

"Yes" said Sekala.

Just wait until Kinara disappears behind the door, and then she turns to approach Jeremy who has been waiting in his car parked on the side of the road.

Along the way to the car, Sekala recalled the figure of the young man who had hurt Kinara earlier. Trying to memorize each side of the young man, so that he could work his best so that the young man would no longer be able to disturb Kinara.
