"Papa's company is bankrupt."
It was a line of sentences that was able to make Kinara's life turn upside down. The sky that was clear suddenly clouded. The earth where it stands as if it was rocked by a powerful earthquake to make its thin body stagger. His eyes were twitching and his throat was choked.
Papa's company is bankrupt. He repeated the sentence in his head once again, trying to digest it well while making sure that he was not dreaming.
When his eyes met with Mama, Kinara realized this bitter reality was inevitably had to be received with a chest of air.
"Can't you?" Kinara thought, he said that in his heart. But it turned out that the voice he made was louder than he expected.
Papa sitting in front of him stared at me. How obvious there was such a huge feeling of guilt from the look in the middle-aged man's eyes.
"Sebastian took the company's money, entered into a fake contract with the client so that many demanded compensation. Everything's up, Nara. Not at all."
Kinara could see Papa's eyes turning red. There was a clear mist enveloping the man's eyes, a sign that his tears would spill in a moment.
"Again, Sebastian!" Kinara. Because, this is not the first time that a jerk named Sebastian is making a tantrum. A few years ago, when Papa's company was newly developing, Sebastian was caught corrupting some of the project's funds. But Papa forgives him because Sebastian says the money was used for his mother's treatment.
In fact, ever since she first met Sebastian, Kinara already had a bad feeling about the man. Who would have thought that his bad premonition had really come true now?
"Sorry Papa, Nara."
Kinar looked at Papa for a while then turned to look at Mama who was sitting next to Papa. The woman was silent. Not showing any expression. Even so, Kinara knew Mama was holding back a deep anger and disappointment.
"How do we do now?" Kinara looked back at Papa. Now, finding a solution for their lives in the future is certainly more important than regretting what has happened.
"Forced to start from zero again." Papa said sadly.
"Okay, it doesn't matter. Nara can help Papa get up from scratch again."
"But, Nara..." Papa hung up his sentence, looking doubtful.
"Why?" ask Kinara.
A few seconds Papa was silent. Kinara's feelings started to feel bad. She suspects that there is something else that Papa is hiding from her and Mama. Looks like the news regarding Papa's bankrupt company isn't the only bad news he'll receive today.
"Pa?"
"This house will be confiscated by the bank."
Like being struck by lightning in broad daylight, Kinara felt her body as if it was bouncing back. About Papa's bankrupt company, Kinara can still think positively that they will be able to start everything back from scratch. But this house is a different matter. This house was built with the efforts of Mama and Papa. The design was designed by Papa himself while all the furniture in it was chosen by Mama. This house has been a witness to their life journey. How could they lose this house?
"Are there no other assets that could be seized? Why this house?!" Kinara. The muscles around his neck were so clear. Her eyes were reddening withstanding the crying.
"There's nothing left, Nara. Papa said it was all over. The only treasure we still have is your car." Bright Papa. Trying hard to resist the bitterness that fills the chest cavity.
Kinara was speechless with the contents of his head that started to be nonchalant. How will they continue to live just by capitalizing on a car that if sold even the results will be nothing? What about his college? What about your plan to open a boutique? What about their dream of going on holiday abroad later this year? Chief Kinara was now only filled with various questions about how their fate would be in the future.
"FUCKING CERTAINTY!!!" Kinara shouted out in loyalty. He then walked quickly up the stairs with stomping steps, his breath hunting, his chest rumbling withstanding emotions.
While downstairs, in the living room, Papa could only stare at Kinara's back which was getting further away. A moment after Kinara's figure disappeared behind the door of her room, Papa turned to Mama who was still silent a thousand languages.
"Sorry Papa, huh, Ma?" Papa grabbed Mama's hand, grasped it tightly.
Mama is still silent. Not saying anything. Neither did Papa look back. Papa knows Mama's disappointed. He was stupid because he had made a very dear little family have to suffer because of the actions of strangers who he trusted too much.
If time could be repeated, Papa would not be willing to bring Bastian into their lives.
"Sorry Papa." It was the last sentence Papa spoke before his tears flowed down his cheeks.
...****************...
At 11:45 p.m., Kinara was still unable to close her eyes. He was on his back, looking at the ceiling of his room which revealed a vast picture of the sky decorated with stars. Kinara recalled the star stickers that would only be visible when her room lights were turned off were installed by Papa himself on his 16th birthday. At that time Kinara complained of nightmares that continued to come for several days so that he could not sleep well. Then Papa took the initiative to put the sticker on the ceiling of his room. He said, so that Kinara could be more relaxed when watching the beautiful expanse of the night sky so that nightmares would not come to him again.
"Sebastian asshole!" Kinara whispered softly. Yes, just whispering. Because it felt like he no longer had the energy to shout the man's name out loud. Since this afternoon when he first heard this bad news from Papa, he may have cursed Sebastian a million times. But it still doesn't feel enough. He was still very angry at the man.
"When Papa is very good with you, but why do you have to do this with Papa?" kinara's voice sounded soft. What appeared on the ceiling of his room now was no longer the expanse of the beautiful night sky, but rather the image of Sebastian's annoying face that instantly made him rise in blood.
Flashes of memories about the man one by one appeared. Starting from their first meeting at Papa's office when Papa introduced Sebastian as a new employee there. Then the next meeting when you know Papa has appointed Sebastian as his personal assistant in just a few months. Up to the scene where Papa forgives Sebastian's misery which has eaten the project's money for his personal gain.
Ah, if only Papa wanted to be a bad person for once, could this bad thing still be prevented? Or at the very least, it might not be this bad.
"Gue swear yes, Sebastian, if we meet again someday, I make sure your mediocre face will run out with my scratch!" Kinara moved her hand to the ceiling of the room, making a gesture as if she was clawing at Sebastian's face which was now smiling impudently to her.
"Gue hates Sebastian!!! Goddamn bum!" Kinara cried out last time before immersing her face into the blanket. At a time like this, he knew it would be difficult to fall asleep. But he also has to do it. First, because he is still an ordinary human being who needs rest. Second, who knew that he could meet Sebastian in his dream so that he could tear the man's face to the fullest?
Sixty-eight seconds passed, and Kinara fell asleep.
