The After The Rain

The After The Rain
What's Wrong With Her?

Since the first class began, Kinara could not concentrate on the material being delivered by the teaching lecturer because the focus continued to be on Dahayu.

From the beginning they met this morning when he and Atha returned from the tomb, Dahayu was already looking gloomy. The girl was more silent and seemed agitated for no apparent reason.

Finally, because he could no longer bear to see Dahayu's strange attitude and he also began to worry about something bad happening to his best friend, Kinara also inched towards Dahayu.

"What's wrong with you, Ay?" he whispered slowly while watching the situation, afraid suddenly the lecturer caught himself wet chatting and ended up being expelled from class.

Dahayu turned her head, looking at her with the look of foreign eyes that she herself did not understand the meaning. Then, instead of an answer, Kinara only heard a long sigh before the girl again threw a glance forward.

"Dear?" whispered again. This time accompanied by a movement to shake the girl's arm to again grab his attention.

But Dahayu still reverberated, did not change the position of the goods slightly. The girl remained determined to look ahead, as if not caring that next to her, Kinara was waiting for an answer.

"Yes, swear! You why?" push Kinara again. Still with whispers because he was actually afraid of being kicked out of class.

Feeling caught off guard as Kinara continued to harass her and she realized some of the other students sitting around them were starting to stare in annoyance, Dahayu turned her head. The expression on her face was flat, the look on her eyes looked cold and the girl sounded completely powerless as she was finally willing to answer Kinara's question.

"It's okay."

The template! Why do all the women in the world always say it's okay when asked why they are?

In fact, Kinara clearly knew that Dahayu why-why. The girl's unusual attitude was already the clearest indicator showing that something had happened.

"If you don't want to tell a story." Kinara said in the end. He returned to his original sitting position, began to look forward again even though in fact he still occasionally glanced towards Dahayu.

"But, you know that I'll always be willing to make an ear for you, right?" ask her with a straight forward look.

Dahayu did not answer. The girl started writing something in the notebook.

Others may think that Dahayu is writing some summary of the material that their lecturer is explaining. In fact, he was just writing a lot of swear words in his notebook.

...****************...

The woodwork is stubborn. Okay, Kinara obviously knows about that one. But he did not expect that the girl would remain silent even until their last class was over.

Only seconds after the lecturer left the class, Dahayu had moved oddly to clean his things from the table and put them in a bag. It was obvious that the boy was in a hurry and wanted to leave the classroom immediately.

"Gue first." He got up from his seat.

Kinara who was just silent watching Dahayu's movements while still holding hands also followed up from his chair.

"Where are you going, anyway? Hurrying too?" asked Kinara as she grabbed her bag lying on the table.

"Gue there's important business." Sahut Dahayu's.

Without waiting for a further response from Kinara, Dahayu started swinging his legs while Kinara himself could not do much and could only look at Dahayu's back which was getting further away from his sight.

Before her feet reached the door, Dahayu stopped for a while then turned around. "I'll call you later." He then immediately turned around and continued his steps.

After Dahayu's figure disappeared behind the door, Kinara sat back down. The problem was, Atha still had one class to attend, so he could not directly approach the young man to his faculty.

Not knowing what to do here alone, Kinara finally pulled out the laptop from the bag and started typing a few sentences to complete the last chapter of the novel she was working on.

Minutes by minutes just run out without feeling. Coinciding with the completion Kinara typed in the closing sentence, the rain fell very heavily, forcing her to stay longer in the classroom because she did not carry an umbrella and breaking through the rain would only make her end up drenched and troubled.

Kinara closed her laptop and put it back in her bag. Then, he leaned his head on the table. His gaze was thrown far out the window, at the swiftness of the rain falling on the ground.

The swift sound of rain water managed to make Kinara washed away. As he was singing a lullaby, he began to close his eyes with a steady breath. His head began to empty, removing one by one the things that had been circling there and bringing him to a phase where his consciousness was already on the threshold.

Kinara would probably have fallen asleep, if only his mouth had not heard someone's incision was walking closer to him.

As her eyes slowly opened again, Kinara found that someone had just placed a folding umbrella on the table. Kinara's head was automatically raised to check who had put the umbrella down, and he found a brownish-haired and somewhat curly young man standing beside him, looking at her fixedly with a beautiful gray-colored bead.

"The rain won't subside anytime soon, so you can use that umbrella to get to the parking lot." Said the young man while pointing at the umbrella he had just placed on the table using his chin.

"No, it's okay. I'll wait until it rains." Kinara refused subtly. The problem was, he did not know this young man very well. They are one generation, but Kinara only knows his name, nothing more.

"Lo sure you want to wait for the rain to stop? Here, alone?" ask the young man, Andanu, while hurting his one hand.

Kinara turned her head to check the atmosphere of the classroom. And sure enough, the class was empty, only he and Andanu were here.

"If I wear the umbrella, what do you wear?" asked Kinara after looking back at Andanu.

"Gue can wait for the rain to subside in front, while fierce."

"But-"

"Buruan, I was just waiting for you to doang." Cut Andanu.

Kinara was silent for a while, trying to digest the meaning of Andanu's words just now.

"The other kids have come out of it, but I don't have to leave you alone, so I'm your samperin because you didn't wake up from earlier." Obviously Andanu was aware of Kinara's confusion.

"Stand up, get the umbrella, keep coming home. Choke." Andanu's orders. Then, the young man walked over first and decided to wait for Kinara on the doorstep of the classroom.

Although it was still puzzling why Andanu had suddenly been kind to him (well, Andanu had indeed never been mean to him or any other student, they just had never interacted with each other), Kinara grabbed Andanu's umbrella and got up from her chair.

Kinara walked over to Andanu and they came out of the classroom together.

"Would you like to go to the parking lot? We go both ways, I'll take you to the parking lot first." Tawar Kinara as they walked in the corridor. The umbrella is open, ready to use.

"No need. Free to anterin I to the parking lot, because I went to campus on a motorbike. I'll wait there." Andanu pointed to a long wooden bench at the end of the corridor.

Kinara followed Andanu's line of sight, then nodded briefly. "Yes, if that's me first, yes. Tomorrow I'll return your umbrella." Kinara.

Andanu did not reply, he only showed gestures allowing Kinara to walk out of the corridor.

Kinara began to walk away, not knowing that behind him, Andanu continued to look at himself until his figure was no longer visible in the young man's eyes. Then, Andanu let out a heavy sigh.

"You shouldn't hurt a plain kid like Kinara." He muttered alone.
