The After The Rain

The After The Rain
Wherever You Go, I'll Always Find You

"Papa's broke." Kinara's voice sounded very pitiful. Atha who originally wanted to launch more questions automatically clenched his lips tightly. His eyes began to look at the banner that stretched across the fence of Kinara's house, trying to read again the row of sentences listed there. But not until he was at the end of the writing, Kinara again voiced. "We lost everything. There's really nothing left, Atha."

Supposedly, Atha spoke immediately. As a lover, shouldn't he immediately give comfort to Kinara whose heart is hurting? But instead of opening her lips to speak, Atha instead fell silent in place for quite a long time. Until finally, there was no sound from the other side of Kinara.

Atha panic. He thought Kinara had accidentally cut off the phone because she was about to cry and didn't want him to hear her. But when Atha kept the phone away to check, apparently the phone was dead.

"Damn it!" his gerrick. His own fault for not checking the condition of his cellphone battery because of the rush to run the motor here. He just arrived in Jakarta and just put his bags and luggage at home and then rushed here. Atha did not think about anything else while advancing his bike because he already missed Kinara too much.

But as she stood in front of the girl's house, hoping to be greeted with a bright smile and a happy twinkle from the beloved girl, Atha was instead presented with this heartbreaking reality.

Atha's head felt heavy on the back. There were too many things he wanted to do at the same time. So much, he became confused where to start. Atha desperately tried to calm himself. He must be able to think clearly in the current situation.

Then, when her head condition had improved, Atha decided to return home. At least, he had to charge on his phone in order to get back to Kinara. The girl needs him, Atha has to make sure she is there.

In a state of heart that is still riled up, Atha drove his motorbike through the streets. Accompanied by street lights that began to light up along with the Maghrib adhan who roared.

...****************...

Fifteen minutes Atha was sitting quietly on the sofa in the living room. Go back and forth to check his phone to see if the power is charged and can be used to call. Then, after seeing the percentage of the battery of the phone is at 20, Atha revoked the charger cable and immediately turned on the phone that was still in a state of death.

From the kitchen, Bi Darti, the housekeeper at the Atha residence came with a glass of water. The woman noticed how the young master in the house kept moving restlessly in his seat.

"Drink first, Mommy." Said Bi Darti while giving water to Atha.

Atha grabbed the water and drank it a mouthful, only to appreciate Bi Darti's efforts to give her time. Then, after putting the glass on the table, Atha got up. Hurriedly she scrolled the screen to look for the contact of Aunt Risa, Kinara's mother. Atha did not intend to ask Kinara directly where Kinara's new residence address was because the girl might still be crying right now. So Atha thought, the only person he could ask for information was Aunt Risa.

Atha walked towards the front door, waiting for the phone to connect with a huffed heart.

The first phone was not picked up. But Atha did not give up. He's still trying to call Aunt Risa. Until finally, his efforts succeeded in the fourth experiment.

"Hello?" greet Aunt Risa with her distinctive soft voice.

Meanwhile, across the phone was suddenly quiet. No sound was caught by Atha's withered until he had to keep the phone away just to check if the phone was still connected or not.

"Aunty?" call Atha quietly after putting her phone back in her ear. "Can? Atha just returned from Jogja, so do not know where the family moved to Auntie." When she said that, Atha's voice sounded very frustrated.

There was a heavy breathing from across the phone. Before finally Aunt Risa replied with a slightly quivering voice. "Can. Aunty sent the address via text, yeah."

"Yes, Aunt. Thanks." The phone was disconnected too.

Shortly after the phone disconnected, Atha received a text message from Aunt Risa. Atha immediately checked the message. After studying the address that Aunt Risa sent and looking for the best route, Atha waltzed away from the house. Ignoring Bi Darti who was shouting asked where she was going.

Without thinking much more, Atha immediately put forward the bike. Penetrate the night streets are still crowded and passing vehicles.

Before heading to Kinara's new home, Atha turns her bike to the minimarket near the intersection. He bought some snacks and ice cream to give to his grieving girl. After getting everything he wanted in the minimarket, Atha returned to drive his bike.

Luckily the streets were not too crowded and Kinara's residential address was in a location that was still easy to reach so Atha did not take long to get there.

As his motorbike began to enter a residential area far from the word elite, Atha's chest slowly felt tight. He and Kinara have been friends since Junior High. Atha knew how Kinara's life was always full of wealth and sufficiency. So when he heard that the company started by Om Danu, Kinara's father, went bankrupt and left no remains, Atha could also feel the sadness felt by his lover.

Atha's motor speed is getting slower along with the distance that is getting closer to Kinara's house. Tightness in the chest increasingly felt when from a distance, Atha could see the figure of Kinara sitting alone on the terrace of a house that was not even a quarter of the old Kinara house.

Atha's eyes blurred, but she desperately tried to hold back so that her cries would not break. Right now, he should be a cool figure in Kinara's eyes. He should be able to provide the shoulder for the woman to cry as much as tonight.

So, after the speed of the bike stopped, Atha hurried down and stepped quickly towards Kinara who had risen from his seat. The girl greeted him with a clear mist that enveloped her usual bright sparkling eyes.

Without saying anything, Atha pulled the small body into her arms. He wiped Kinara's head slowly when he felt her shirt was being scratched by her lover.

"It's ok, Nara. There I am here. Atha's here for Nara, so there's nothing to worry about."
