Towards Maghrib, Kinara sat quietly on the veranda of the house. Watch the sky slowly change color from orange to gray then dark. On the round table in front of him, there was a cup of already cold tea and setoples of his favorite regal biscuits.
In the afternoons before this bad day approaches, Kinara likes to spend time enjoying the twilight while sipping fresh tea made by Mama accompanied by a few pieces of sweet regal biscuits. But this afternoon, everything that was once his favorite now seemed unattractive. The fresh tea that Mama made was left untouched cold. Similarly, regal biscuits that he let sit in a jar, looking at him sadly like poor children abandoned by his own mother.
Hela's long breath began her slow body movements. Kinara stepped into the house just as Adzan was reverberating. Leave tea cups and regal biscuits on the table. Maybe, until tomorrow when it's time for them to move, he still won't move those two things from there. Let anyone who comes here for the first time after his move know, that in this house, there once lived a happy girl just as simple as sipping tea accompanied by a piece of regal biscuits.
Arriving in the room, Kinara instead broke down. He should immediately go to the bathroom to take ablution and then perform maghrib prayer. Yet for some reason today he really had no taste in doing anything.
Lama Kinara was silent on the bed. His mind drifted everywhere. The Adhan is not heard. Replaced the clockwork sound of seconds that somehow sounded louder than usual.
Kinara stared at the clock on the wall of her room. The clock is circular with a blue tayo image as if mocking him. Reminds him that there is not much time left in this house. In a few hours of long-hand turns, he had to lift his legs.
"Nara, pray maghrib first." My mother's voice came from behind the door. Kinara stared at the old brown door for a while before replying with one word "yes".
"Astaghfirullah's... Because of my fucking Sebastian so I almost stopped praying!" Kinara hurriedly got up from the bed. Walk quickly to the bathroom before the prayer time runs out.
...****************...
After performing the prayer, Kinara did not wake up from his place. After praying as he did every day (just this time plus some new prayers) he threw himself on the prayer mat. Today he does not pray together with Mama and Papa for fear that this worship activity will end with crying together. No. gabe. Kinara did not want to cry over this incident as much as he could.
In the midst of busy thoughts, Kinara suddenly remembered Atharya Danapati, her lover. He only remembered since yesterday not giving any news at all to the man. Though Kinara knew Atha hated the most that he had been lost without news.
As fast as lightning, Kinara rose from her lying position. Still using mukena, he jumped up on the mattress and took the phone from inside the nightstand drawer.
Kinara grimaced to find forty missed calls and thirty-two unread messages all coming from Atha. Without opening the message one by one, Kinara could already guess the contents. It must not be far from the nagging Atha complaining about himself that there is no news.
Unwilling to add to the problem, Kinara immediately called Atha to explain her condition.
Three seconds later, Atha picked up the phone. The man was immediately furious, blabbing at length even before Kinara had spoken a single word.
"Sorry, yesterday I had a problem." Kinara tried to explain. But as usual, Atha was unwilling to accept that as an excuse. The man still continues to nag until it makes Kinara's ear just evaporated with a temperature of one hundred and eighty degrees Celsius aka hot!
"You have a habit of saying things! You don't know I'm worried?!" atha's tone of voice was higher, making Kinara forced to keep the phone away from the ear.
"Coke diem?!"
Kinara turned the puffed-up eyeball. How does he want to talk if Atha is still nyerocos from now on?
"Kinara, are you horrifying me?!"
"Yes, I heard."
"Where have you been from yesterday? What's the matter until you disappear, no news at all?"
There is no lawfulness. Kinara thought the phone connection was cut. But as he kept his phone away from his ear to check, their phone was clearly still connected.
"Atha?"
"Okay, after I get back to Jakarta, you need to clear everything up."
"Yes." Yeah."
"What are you doing again? Praying already?"
"Lately finished praying. What are you doing yourself?" Kinara put herself in bed. Look at the ceiling of the room with a faint smile. He was imagining that there was Atha in front of him at this moment.
"I'm in front of the house, wait for a friend to pick up because we want to gather in Malioboro tonight."
"Oh... It's exciting, huh?" ask her while playing the end of her face.
"Grow. I'll bring you here sometime."
"Promise?"
"Yes, promise. Yes, yes, my friend has come. See you!"
"See-"
The phone was cut off before Kinara finished her speech.
The phone he left lying on his chest. The shadow of Atha's face was increasingly visible on the ceiling of his room. His thick eyebrows, lentic eyelashes that became the dream of women, as well as a sweet smile studded with intoxicating dimples was successful in making Kinara smile.
For three weeks he had not seen the handsome face of his lover directly. College is on holiday and Atha decides to take a vacation to her grandfather's house in Jogja. Kinara was offered to join, but Papa was clearly against it. Even though they had been dating for three years, it did not necessarily make Papa put his full trust in Atha. In any case, Atha was still a normal man who was very likely to do khilaf if there was a chance. And Papa certainly will not let bad things happen to the princess just wayangnya.
As his longing for Atha grew, suddenly a strange thought flashed through Kinara's head, making his smile instantly fade away.
If Atha knew the current state of my family's economy, would she still want to date me?
Kinara suddenly fretted. Atha was his first girlfriend. The first love he managed to bring into a relationship that was not playful. It's not funny that their love story should end just because of the bankruptcy of Papa's business.
Not wanting the thought to further gnaw her head, Kinara shook her head then immediately ran into the bathroom. He wants to take ablution again and immediately perform the Isya prayer. He had forgotten to say this one prayer: may Atha still accept it in her present state.
