Three weeks had passed since Kinara last met with Atha and Dahayu, when she heard that they had finally got married after officially resigning from campus a week earlier.
That news Kinara heard from Irfan, when the young man came to Orion to hang out with some friends from other faculties who were not very familiar with Kinara.
In response to that, Kinara only smiled faintly. His heartache is still there, still real. If it can be visualized, it may be similar to a torn wound that gaping wide and does not go dry even though it has been given various kinds of help.
However, Kinara still felt that the actions of Dahayu and Atha were worthy of appreciation. Because at least, they have dared to account for what they have done. At least they didn't run away. And as someone who had been a friend, only that faint smile could Kinara offer.
For he could not have come directly to congratulate them on their marriage. Besides because the invitation did not reach him directly, Kinara was also not a human who was that strong. She was still the same fragile girl, who would definitely cry out sobbing when she saw Atha, the man she still loved to date in the end marrying someone else.
So, in order to keep everyone from unwanted things, Kinara would rather not appear in front of them again. And Kinara also hoped that neither Atha nor Dahayu would ever appear before him again, so that he could rearrange what the two men had torn apart.
"Kin, man,"
When Kinara turned his head, Sekala was already standing beside him, while thrusting a mobile phone towards him.
"May I have your phone number?" ask the man later.
"Mas Kala doesn't have my number?" Kinara asked back, but she still grabbed Sekala's phone and started typing her eleven-digit phone number.
"Not yet,"
"Coconut yet? Kan, when I first came to ask for a job vacancy, I already stayed my phone number to Mas Ardi?" asked Kinara astonished while handing back Sekala's phone.
"You'll give him to Ardi, not to me." He answered while typing a word before saving Kinara's phone number.
Kin. That's how Sekala named Kinara's contact. It really was just Kin, there were no frills whatsoever behind it. Briefest. Dense. Evidently. Very typical.
"Isn't it the same?" Kinara was still confused.
"Where can it be the same, anyway? Me and Ardi are obviously two different people." Once saved the phone to the counter, folded his hands in front of his chest and looked at Kinara seriously.
"It's still one place to work, Mas Kala. Why don't you ask Mas Ardi to try?" Kinara. It felt, he was eager to pull Sekala's cheeks to stretch like mozzarella cheese.
Unfortunately, he could not realize the intention because Sekala turned out to be much older than him. (Kinara recently found out that Sekala is 27 years old). Besides, Sekala is also the boss here, so she can't be as reckless if she doesn't want to be kicked out of this part-time job.
"Why ask Ardi if I could ask you to come?"
Hmm. .. What Sekala said there is a point too, anyway. But, .. ah, never mind, Kinara was lazy to argue, because right now, she was actually enjoying the feeling of unease that was still left after hearing the news of Atha and Dahayu's marriage.
Therefore, Kinara withdrew. He decided not to prolong the matter and let Sekala stagger beside him as he received the order.
"Two Hazelnut Latte, the ice and sugar is normal or less, sister?" ask her to a girl in high school uniform who just made an order.
"One less ice less sugar, one normal ice less sugar, yes, sister." The girl answered.
"good. I repeat, yes, two Hazelnut Latte, one less ice less sugar and another normal ice less sugar, right?"
"Yes, Brother."
"Well, a total of fifty-four thousand, the payment will be cash, debit or e-wallet?"
"Cash," said the girl, holding out a hundred thousand bills.
"The money is a hundred thousand, I accept yes, Brother." Kinara said, according to existing S.O.P.
"The return of forty-six thousand, please await his order." Kinara extended the girl's change, then allowed the girl to wait in a special row to take away.
"Thank you, Mas Kala." His whisper, Just nodding his head then the man again busy looking at his cell phone.
"The order, Brother." Kinara passed the two cups of Hazelnut Latte towards the High School girl.
"Thank you" the high school girl grabbed her order and walked away from the cafe.
Then, as there were no more visitors coming and the cafe this afternoon was also not too crowded, Kinara walked towards the corner of the counter, pulled out a wooden chair and brought it back behind the cash register table.
"Can I sit down for a minute, Mas Kala?" he asked, before sitting himself in the chair.
Just nodding, with the gaze still fixed straight towards his phone.
Permission, Kinara sat down. He circulated the view, researching every corner of the cafe which somehow still amazes him even though he has been working here for a few weeks.
"Kin, man,"
"Hmm?" Kinara just cleared his throat in response, still coolly raising his eyes.
"Back to work, we're going for a walk, yuk?"
Kinara, who had been looking at a pair of young people who seemed to be in love, turned her head towards Sekala, who had now removed her gaze from her phone and was fully staring at her.
"Sorry, Mas. Can't," subtly refuse Kinara.
"I have to go straight home. Because the last time I came home late, Papa has been waiting for me in front of the house while carrying a sack, he said to make me not run around anymore." He said, with a bright face.
Instead of finding Sekala chuckling and poking her all out like the man used to do, Kinara instead saw the man remain calm.
"I have permission from your father, he says it's okay."
Hearing that, Kinara instead raised her eyebrows, looked at Sekala full of hesitation then flicked her hands in front of her face. He thought, I was just joking.
"i'm serious. I just chatted your dad for permission, and I can."
"Where did you get Papa's number?"
"From your father straight, be it."
"Lying," Kinara pelt Sekala a probing gaze. Still can't believe Sekala's confession about Papa giving the man a phone number. Because, it feels a bit impossible. After all, when did the two of them get to chat to exchange phone numbers?
"I'm serious, Kin." Be firm again.
Kinara did not answer. For a while, all he did was remain silent while still continuing to throw Sekala a probing gaze.
Until finally Sekala was caught off guard and showed her cellphone screen in front of Kinara, where there was a real chat that happened between her and the father of the chatty girl.
"Uda believe?" tanyanya, after she felt Kinara had finished reading the chat.
Kinara raised her head, then exhaled slowly while nodding.
"So don't you want to go out with me?"
