The After The Rain

The After The Rain
Deal, We're at peace

"I'm home alone again, so I can't get Mas Kala in." Kinara emerged from behind the door carrying a small tray of water and a glass of iced tea. Because he did not know what Sekala wanted to drink, and he was too nervous to ask, so he brought the two drinks so that Sekala himself would choose which one to drink.

"It's okay, anyways I'm here just want this anterin." He handed the two bags of built-in crackles to Kinara.

Although a clear frown appeared on her forehead, Kinara still grabbed the two bags of crackles after putting the tray on the table.

"One was a snack, the other a toy." Obviously Sekala, did not wait until Kinara asked.

Kinara looked at Sekala in astonishment. There was a wind what his boss was until he was willing to come all the way here, plus on holidays, just to deliver snacks and toys for Lestari.

Yes, Lestari. When Sekala said that one of the bags contained a toy, he did not have to ask twice to know that the toy was intended for Lestari. Because since he introduced Sekala to Lestari a few weeks ago, the man had indeed been seen interested in his favorite chatty boy.

"But Lestari left again, I don't know when she's coming home." Kinara put the two bags of crackles on the table, then sat on the chair opposite to Sekala.

"Yes, you please save it first, later if Lestari has come home, please love me." As usual, I don't want to be complicated.

"Well, is that it?" asked Kinara, making Sekala raise her eyebrows next to her.

"Kala really just want this anterin for Lestari?"

Momentary silence. Because actually, delivering snacks and toys for Lestari is just an alibi. The main purpose of Sekala coming here is to clear up misunderstandings about Astari. Only, he was confused where to start.

"Mass?"

"I .." The hesitation was clearly emanated from Sekala's eyes, and perhaps Kinara was able to read it.

However, the girl decided to still give Sekala a chance to think before continuing her words. Because maybe what Sekala will say is indeed something important, so it requires a lot of consideration.

Exhaling out a loud breath when he did not find the right diction for him to convey to Kinara. The fear was still as great as yesterday, afraid that this girl would misunderstand his sentence and their relationship ended runnyam.

"By the way, Mas," Kinara tried reassuringly through the deep gaze of her eyes, as well as the faint smile she had carved, as if to tell Sekala that whatever the man would say, she said, he'll be ready to listen.

One more breath Sekala escaped, then she tilted her body slightly, to more clearly stare at Kinara sitting opposite her. His eyes clashed with the girl's, chasing for a while before they finally reached the border that would determine if they would stop, or continue until they are both washed away and disappear.

Then, Sekala with minimal confidence began to open her lips to make a sound.

"This .. about Astari," only until the first sentence is out. Because he wanted to check Kinara's reaction first before continuing his sentence.

And after he felt the girl before him did not show a disturbed reaction, then Sekala continued.

"I just want to make it clear that what you think of me and Astari is just a misunderstanding. Astari doesn't like me the way you and Andanu think, she just ... just ..." Damnit. How did Sekala explain to Kinara about this? Why was his brain suddenly dead-end, and his tongue felt like it was to be used to continue the sentence when a little more would be finished?

"I don't know how to explain it to you, but clearly, Astari's feelings towards me are not what you think, Kin." In the end, it was only Sekala's ability to explain. Though he had more stock of words in the head, but in the end that managed to get out of his lips was only a small part.

Well ... Now, Sekala can only hope that Kinara's brain performance is good enough, so that the girl can receive the information she gives and digest it properly.

If only Sekala knew that Kinara was also made restless because of this problem...

For a while, I could only wait while holding my breath. Kinara's current facial expression was completely unreadable. He could not guess whether the girl had managed to translate her words into something he meant, or if it had caused a new misunderstanding.

Until then, he heard Kinara sigh long, and it made his feelings even more uneasy.

"I'm sorry, yes, Mas Kala," she said, instantly making a corner of her heart feel pinched. Why should I apologize, he thought.

"No, I'm not talking to you to make you feel guilty, Kin. I just-"

"I know, Mom, that's why I'm sorry,"

Sekala's lips were still half-open, intending to say Kinara again, but stopped because he knew the girl was still willing to continue her words. So he relented, choosing to provide an ear.

"Evening, Astari came here, to talk about the same thing." The girl started.

I was quite surprised to hear that. He did not expect that Astari would act so quickly, even willing to come all the way to Kinara's house just to explain this misunderstanding. Although it is undeniable that the misunderstanding that makes many parties feel uncomfortable is indeed the source of the woman, also from the spirit of Kinara who is passionate to match the two of them.

"I think I'm the most sensitive human being in the world. So, I'm proud to think that I can help bring you closer, when you don't want that at all" Kinara gloomily, her facial water that originally seemed illegible to Sekala, said, now it is clearly visible to show sadness that is not where the end is.

"Sorry yes, Mas Kala, I already know very well and it will even make Mas Kala and Mbak Astari uncomfortable,"

I don't like to hear the word sorry, if it comes to something that's not actually a mistake.

So, before Kinara reopened her mouth to convey another apology, she quickly interrupted.

"No need to apologize, Kin. You're not wrong," a thin smile was carved, his intention to make Kinara's mood a little better.

But in fact, the smile actually made the guilt that Kinara piled up since last night even more so.

"But I was wrong, Mas Kala. Make other people uncomfortable because my ignorance is wrong" Kinara the stubborn one. Supposedly, Sekala carved the sentence in the head as a reminder.

"Okay, you're guilty." The verdict. "You're guilty of making me and Astari uncomfortable" he added, to clarify which part Kinara had mistaken, so that the girl was satisfied.

"You are guilty, and I, as the party involved, have decided to forgive you. So, the mistake is dead, it's gone no longer." After the sentence was finished, Sekala extended a hand.

"So, Kin, let's make peace now."

Kinara was fixated long enough to look at Sekala's outstretched hand before him. The hand that he once held for a lifetime when he first came to apply as a part-time worker in Orion. He did not expect the hand would come back to him, to signify peace.

"Kin?"

Kinara's gaze shifted, now fixed on the intoxicating sekala dark bead. I don't know when exactly, but Kinara always found herself almost lost there, if it took too long to dive and forgot to go home.

Then, before he was completely lost and lost in the dark bead, Kinara grabbed Sekala's helping hand, shaking it for quite a while.

"We're at peace, okay?" say Sekala still with their hands clasping each other.

Kinara's tongue felt a little too fuzzy to move, so he just nodded his head in response.

And when their handshake came off, then a smile rose so wide on Sekala's face, Kinara dared to swear that for the first time, she dared to shout out loud inside her head, she said, how handsome is a Sekala Pranadipa. The smile was beautiful, and it felt so fitting to rise on Sekala's face. Because if it wasn't Sekala, her smile wouldn't feel the same.

Suddenly, Kinara felt lost again. A strange feeling crept up little by little, moving up until it penetrated into his heart.

Then, before that feeling grew even more so, the roar of the car that had just entered his courtyard had managed to seize his attenuation in an instant.

A little girl jumped down from the car, running towards him with a happy look while stretching her arms wide.

"Sister!!!" the little girl, Lestari, exclaimed cheerfully. His wide smile glimmered, exactly the chunk of diamond that poked out from the mound of earth.

And as the small body finally arrived before him and immediately burst into the embrace, Kinara could no longer hold back her smile.

Kinara returned Lestari's embrace, then lifted the tiny body onto her lap.

"Happy?" kinara whispered in the boy's ear, and the boy nodded in response.

"Papa had bought me ice cream," Lestari showed off, her smile widened, her eyes occasionally glancing towards Sekala who joined her with a sincere smile towards him.

"Oh, huh? What flavor?"

"Brown flavor. There's still two, I'll give you one, yeah."

"Yes, thank you, yeah."

"I'm not loved?" A bit of a question asked.

Lestari who had only dared to glance a little, now fully looked at him. The boy was silent for a moment, looking thoughtful.

"Yes, the one for you." Said Lestari innocently.

As he chuckled, he had no power to hold himself back until his hand was stretched out to slowly break Lestari's fine hair.

Then, he got up from his seat when Kinara's father and mother and Lestari's mother reached the porch of the house.

"Please, Sir, Ma'am, Ma'am." Sekala greeted them one by one, kissed the hands of father and mother Kinara alternately then also greet her mother Lestari.

"Jiang, bro!"

Sekala again chuckled as Kinara's father greeted her with the familiar greeting while patting her shoulders slowly.

"A long time ago, Son Sekala?" that's Kinara's mother's voice.

He looked at the middle-aged woman with a faint smile. "No, Ma. I just arrived, the drink that Kinara loves me I haven't had time to drink," he said as he glanced at Kinara.

The forgetful Kinara offered the drinking water he had brought for Sekala practically patted his eel, while Sekala only chuckled lightly at his reaction.

"Yes, if so go in, yuk. It's hot outside." Take Kinara's mother.

Just so-yes, after all he still wants to linger here. Counting as a celebration of his peace with Kinara.

Kinara's father and mother entered first, followed by Lestari and her mother. While Sekala deliberately entered later so that he could walk side by side with Kinara.

"Later, don't tell Mama that I forgot to drink, Mas." Whisper Kinara as they both swung a step.

He chuckled for a moment before nodding his head. "Yes, just calm down." Then they hurriedly continued their steps as Lestari shouted calling their names over and over again.
