The After The Rain

The After The Rain
The sighting?

"What time do I pick you up?" asked Kinara as she tilted her head out of the open car window.

The dahayu who had originally stepped towards the gate instantly stopped and turned around. He seemed to think for a moment before answering. "Hour 9."

Kinara nodded her head. Then after saying the farewell sentence, the car drove back to leave the Dahayu residential area.

In the first fifteen minutes of the journey, there was still no one willing to open their voice first. Both Atha and Kinara insisted on allowing the silence to creep in little by little until it actually swallowed them completely.

Going into the twenty minute, Kinara was getting bored. This kind of awkwardness never happened between her and Atha. And I don't know why, this strange atmosphere was created today.

Since Kinara was basically a pretty chatty type when she was with people who made her comfortable, she became the first person to finally open her voice.

"Tha," he called slowly.

Atha turned his head for a while before finally refocusing his gaze forward.

"Don't tell Dahayu first, yeah." Kinara said that only Atha responded with a nod.

"I'll tell her the same story. But not soon."

"Yes, honey. I know it." The car stops when the traffic light turns red. Atha used that opportunity to put her focus on Kinara. His left hand stretched out, then tightly grasped Kinara's cold hand. "You can tell Dahayu later if you are really ready. It's ok. I know you just don't want to make him fuck."

And even though the traffic light is back in green and the car is back on the road, Atha still does not want to let go of her hand. As if from that grasp, she wanted to channel more calmness in order for Kinara to stop worrying about things.

While for Kinara, receiving sweet treatment from Atha in fact was always able to make her feelings better. He was indeed unpopular, not having many people nearby that he could go to when he was in trouble. But the existence of Atha and Dahayu for him was enough. So, Kinara really hoped that he would not lose these two people from within his life.

As both Atha and Kinara were busy with their own thoughts, the car finally stopped in the courtyard of Kinara's house. Atha was still reluctant to let go of their grasp, parking the car with just one hand on the wheel. When the car was perfectly parked, then Atha let go of their hands because they had to get out of the car.

The first thing that Atha met when getting out of the car was the figure of Kinara's father who was originally sitting alone on the front porch and now seemed to rise after realizing his presence and Kinara.

Atha rushed to turn the body towards the passenger door, opened the door for Kinara and took the woman in his arms and they walked over to Kinara's father.

"Night, Om." Sapa Atha extended a hand. Shortly after her helping hand was welcomed, Atha immediately sprinkled a kiss on the back of her prospective in-laws hand.

The same thing was done by Kinara. The difference is, the girl also put an extra kiss on her father's cheek.

"Well, did you just come home?" tanya Kinara who realized that Papa was still wearing the shirt that was worn this morning to go to work.

"Yes. Mama said you haven't come home either, so Papa's waiting for you here." Papa

Kinara could not help but smile after hearing Papa's explanation. If there is something sweeter in this world than sugar, it is possible for Kinara that it is Papa's treatment of it.

"So sweet, anyway." The sudden temptation of Kinara made Papa chuckle.

"Together, Om." Answer Atha. She herself did not know why Kinara's father always thanked her for the things she thought she should have done as Kinara's lover.

"If so, I'll go home first." Atha went back to greet Kinara's father.

"What are you riding home for?" ask Kinara who just realized that Atha did not bring her car with her.

"Taxi." Answer Atha briefly.

After anchoring a soft pat on Kinara's head, Atha actually resigned. He walked towards the front alley to haul a taxi.

On the porch of the house, Kinara and her father waited until the figure of Atha completely disappeared and then they entered the house.

...****************...

At about half an hour in the morning, Kinara woke up feeling hot. Sweat flooded his entire face and body making him feel uncomfortable. His throat felt dry and raspy.

Kinara glanced towards the fan that was stuck on the wall, only to be made to take a long sigh because apparently the thing was not working. Though last night before he went to sleep, Kinara had already confirmed that the fan had been tuned according to his needs. It seemed, the fan was already too tired as he was forced to work 24 hours non-stop.

As the dryness in the throat became more and more severe, Kinara decided to get off the bed. He walked slowly out of the room to the kitchen. The lights had been turned off as usual, and since Kinara was too lazy to turn them on, she walked towards the kitchen relying on her instincts alone.

Arriving at the kitchen, Kinara immediately opened the refrigerator and retrieved a bottle of mineral water from there. It didn't take long for him to put water in the bottle.

Finished with the thirst business, Kinara was about to walk back to her room. But his steps came to a halt as his eyes caught something tickling his curiosity.

From where he stood now, more precisely in the kitchen doorway, he saw a figure lying on the living room sofa. He did not really catch the existence of the figure because it was too dark and he just focused on walking towards the kitchen.

Despite the fear that began to strike, Kinara still ventured to walk into the living room. He walked with a sneak, just like a herd of thieves in action.

Already knowing the dark and he would have trouble looking around, Kinara still did not want to find the location of the light switch and turned it on. He instead used his hands to help him walk along while squinting to ascertain whether the figure lying on the sofa was human or not.

Kinara's heart beat faster as he moved closer to the figure.

Then, just as two more steps were about to arrive next to the figure to ascertain whether it was human or not, Kinara was made to leap in shock as a clap landed on her shoulders.

Kinara turned around, and...

"Yahoooooo!!! Satan!!!"
