In accordance with what he had promised, after Ashar, Kinara actually came to Lestari's house with a few packs of Regal biscuits and ice cream of various flavors. His steps swung wide, his smile spreading to the ears.
For a moment, Kinara stopped at Lestari's doorstep, trying to peer through the gap of the glass window that was not covered in curtains before putting several knocks on the door.
Shortly after the last knock, the dark brown wooden door opened from the inside, rejecting Lestari's beautiful figure and the smell of baby powder. The little girl was wearing a knee-length light blue flower dres, her hair was tied in two and the girl was smiling broadly with sparkling eyes welcoming her arrival.
"I thought you broke a promise." Said Lestari while pulling Kinara's hand and leading her to sit on the terrace chair. "What did you bring?" he asked when he caught the existence of the crackle bag in Kinara's grasp.
"Regal cookies are ice cream, for you." Kinara said as she handed the bag to Lestari who was standing in front of her.
"Well, thanks!" serang Lestari girang's. He jumped up and down before sitting himself in the opposite seat and then carrying the bag into his lap.
When Kinara thought the little girl would open the crackle bag to loot the entire contents inside, she was shocked when Lestari did nothing. The little girl just let the bag of crackle giving her on the lap while several times patted slowly.
"Do you want to see the contents?" ask Kinara curiously.
Lestari. "Kan, you told me."
Kinara. True, he had already told Lestari what was inside the crackle bag. It is only natural that Lestari would answer that. Only, is it natural that the girl did not intend to remove the contents in the bag of crackles, even though she already knew that the contents were something she liked?
Kinara knew from Sinta that Lestari loved chocolate-flavored ice cream. So, among the many flavor variants that he bought, he bought a slightly more chocolate flavor than other variants with the aim that Lestari was happy. But look now, the girl was not even trying to peek into the bag of crackles at all.
"I said it was Regal biscuits and ice cream." Kinara.
"Yes, I know." Lestari mangosteen, and it looks funny. "Not to tell me anymore, you've lost your voice."
Kinara laughed again. Lestari this way of speaking is somewhat different when compared to children his age. From the short conversation that occurred between them just this afternoon, Kinara found that Lestari even had far more vocabulary that his peers might not have.
"Say your mother, you like chocolate-flavored ice cream."
Lestari. "It's so thick."
"There's a lot of chocolate-flavored ice cream inside, you don't want to open it?"
"Later on."
"Wait what?" ask Kinara in astonishment. "Later on, the ice cream can melt."
"Wait for Mom to come home from the shop. No ice cream melts, because I don't have a refrigerator either." Lestari grinned at the end of the sentence.
Kinara was made to taste because again Lestari said something sad with a cheerful tone and an innocent innocent smile. Okay, the problem of not having a refrigerator is not that sad. But, still, why would Lestari be able to say her insincerity with such a cheerful tone?
Kinara and Lestari simultaneously turned their heads towards the source of the sound. Sinta walked towards them with a small black plastic bag on her left hand and a wallet on her right.
"Udah. Dance is perfumed." Answer Lestari. He jumped down from the chair, put the bag of crackle that he had been holding on to the table and then ran a little toward the mother.
With her small hands, Tari grabbed a plastic bag from her mother's hand and took her mother's big hand to walk with her.
"What did you bring, Ra?" sinta asked as soon as she reached the terrace and caught the existence of a crackle bag on the table.
"Biscuits are like ice cream for Lestari."
"Okay, thanks, yeah. But next time don't bother." Sinta said with a subtle look. "We don't have a refrigerator, so it's a little hard to keep ice cream."
"Sorry, yes, Ma'am. I don't know." Now, it was Kinara's turn to feel bad. He also thought about the fate of the ice cream inside the crackle bag that must have begun to melt.
In response to Kinara's unnecessary apology, Sinta smiled. This girl before him seemed to indeed have an overly sensitive heart and could not see the distress of others. Meaning, from now on, he should be more careful in speaking so as not to make this girl feel guilty for something he did not do.
"Ngapain is sorry? Don't you know we don't have a refrigerator." Sinta grabbed the crackle bag from the table then grabbed Kinara's hand and led her to get up from the chair. "Because we don't have a refrigerator, we finish this ice cream together, yuk. Not to be redundant."
Kinara looked at Sinta for a while, then slightly lowered her head to look at Lestari who was also looking at her with a pair of cute little eyes. Then, Kinara nodded.
They also walked in tandem into the house, just as a car emerged from the alley and drove towards Kinara's house and stopped right in his yard.
From inside the now parked car appeared two human children who looked at each other for a while before finally stepping together towards the front door.
They returned to their eyes after standing in front of Kinara's house, briefly arguing a little to determine who should raise their hands and anchor the knock.
Then, since no one was willing to budge, they ended up using the ultimate means. That is, playing scissors-paper-stones with the agreement of who loses, he is the one who must knock on the door in front of them and express the intention of their arrival to whoever will appear to open the door.
"Gue won!" the male exclaimed, clenching his hands into the air with a silringah look that did not last long as the girl next to him immediately landed a punch on the shoulder that made him instantly grimace in pain.
"It's so rough!" his protest with a stifled voice, did not want to cause a commotion.
"Diem!" the word woman. Then, he took a deep breath before raising his hand into the air. Inwardly incessantly chanting prayers, hoping that would emerge from behind the door opened Kinara.
Then the knock began to be broken. The pause from the first beat to the second beat is long enough, so that makes the male a drag.
In the end, the two of them both put a knock on the door so that it makes a noise that immediately makes the occupants of the house run around the ridge to open the door.
