Kinara thought, the noise coming from a person who gossiped like this would only be heard during class and only occur in the faculty. Apparently, when now he and Dahayu were in the front garden of the Engineering faculty to meet with Atha, he also saw the same scene.
Many students were clustered and peeked at each other's phones. Sometimes they whisper, open up, and then shout indistinctly.
Kinara who was not too interested in finding out, over time was also provoked. He finally pulled out the phone from inside the bag and instantly opened the blue bird app, ignoring the ban given by Dahayu.
Just now that the app was successfully opened, Kinara was surprised not to play when she found Layla's name in the top second of the five most talked about hashtags there. And when he pressed the hashtag, there were a lot of negative articles about Layla.
Of the many posts, Kinara is most interested in reading one post that has been shared 2 million times. In the post on the account with the username Lambe Gossip, there is Layla's personal information, starting from the full name, the place where he went to college even got to the most private realm like the fact that he was only alone with his mother.
Many negative comments are there, such as the saying that what Layla does is a form of ignorance on her thirst for the love of a father. There are also those who accuse Layla as a campus chicken who hides her true identity behind the long veil she wears.
Seeing that alone, Kinara was already annoyed instead of playing. Especially when he found one other comment that proudly offered a full version of Layla and asked for rewards for every link he managed to share.
Kinara. He did not think, why there are bad people like that, who could reap the benefits of the misfortune that is befalling others. Did they never think it could happen to them someday?
What is even more poignant than the malicious comments Kinara found in the post is the fact that nearly ninety percent of the users who contributed to the negative comments were women. Which they should have shown at least a little empathy for what happened to Layla. They appear to be proud and consider themselves holier than Layla, but not necessarily they do the same. They just can't be found out, right?
As Kinara grew tired of reading the malicious comments that instantly made her head feel heavy, she placed her phone on the table in a slight throwing motion. Then he turned to Dahayu who was just staring flatly at him.
"You know about this, Ay? That's why you didn't let me open Twitter?" tanyakanya.
Dahayu nodded, inviting heavy breaths to just escape from the side of her lips.
"They've gone too far, Ay."
"Don't interfere, Ra. Please." Please." Prevent Dahayu even before Kinara could say further. "Not everyone in the world has to help." Reciprocity.
"But, Ay. Shadow if it happens to us, and no one wants to help." Kinara and her stubbornness never changed.
"What can you do for me?" challenge Dahayu. He's tired already. Honestly speaking, his patience to deal with Kinara's stubbornness was running out. After all, this is not their problem, why do those who have to be dizzy when they themselves have problems to solve?
"Can't you help me?" reset Dahayu. "Nothing, is it? So better lo shut up than you make things more difficult for everyone."
Dahayu's words just like a dagger that pierced his chest until it penetrated his spine. Pain and pain mixed into one. Dizziness was felt and Kinara felt his back neck like it was weighted by thousands of tons until it felt too difficult to lift his head.
"Gue knew you only wanted to show your empathy for what happened to Layla. But, you still have to know the limits, Ra." Dahayu.
"But, Ay-"
"Don't interfere, Kinara. I beg you." Sela Dahayu was already frustrated. He hoped, after he said this, Kinara would not refute him anymore.
And sure enough, no more protests came out of Kinara's lips after that. The girl was silent and looked pondering. Dahayu could only wait until finally Kinara sighed heavily then looked at her with a pair of darkened eyes.
"You really are, Ay. I shouldn't have interfered." Kinara said sadly. One by one the words that came out of Dahayu's lips began to be re-digested, and finally he reached a point of agreement that there were some things that he could not interfere with. Moreover, his relationship with Layla is actually not that close.
"Sorry, Ay." Kinara said again in a very slow voice. The girl then lowered her head, hiding her face which showed a nonchalant expression.
Seeing that, Dahayu again sighed. His hands stretched out to hold Kinara's hands which were now clinging to each other on the thighs.
"Gue is no longer angry, so don't be sad." Said Dahayu with a voice made as friendly as possible.
Kinara lifted her face so that their gazes met. Dahayu's heart felt sore when she found Kinara's face that looked so sad.
"What a face so, ugly." Dahayu tried to make a joke to melt the atmosphere back.
But what happened was that he was made in the fog Kinara began to cry.
"Who? Heh? Why is it crying?!" pekik Dahayu panicked. Hurriedly she sprang Kinara's face and she wiped away the tears that started rushing to flood her cheeks.
"Lo why, Ra? I'm too fierce, aren't I?" ask Dahayu again.
Instead of replying, Kinara slid into Dahayu's arms. He's sobbing in there. Spilling tears that somehow in an instant had flowed like a faulty water tap.
Again, the first thing Dahayu could do was to sigh. Although she still did not know what reason made Kinara cry, whether it was because of her hurtful words or something else, Dahayu still patted the girl's back to help her finish crying.
"Nangis is as good as you. It's okay, I'm not banning." Said Dahayu while still continuing to pat Kinara on the back.
Meanwhile, far across from them, there was a new Atha emerging from the corridor with her two friends. The young man stopped his steps with a frown when he found his girlfriend and best friend hugging.
"What is this drama?" he muttered alone.
