The Borders
Section 72 – Appointed New Leader

During the day Kashel, who had just left the house, looked up at the clear sky that day.

Soon I will be free, and I can live my own life. I feel like I'm waiting for it. Kashel's mind stared at the clear sky that afternoon.

Without him realizing there was someone staring at him from afar, it was the Guardian.

"A little while." The Guardian murmured then disappeared out of nowhere in the blink of an eye.

Two weeks later ...

That day was the day the new leader of The Borders Organization was appointed.

There were three candidate candidates who had inherited the main blood of the Kendrick family back then. There's Rai Clovis Kendrick Royi Kendrick's first son.

Aqila Kendrick is the daughter of Felix Kendrick. He currently serves as the leader of The Borders Organization.

Erza Kashel Kendrick - Deon Kendrick's first son. The child who is not considered but himself remains one of the new leadership candidates.

The way of selecting the leader of this family through the system of the elected in which the leader is the first child in each of his descendants. At least 20 years old and the new leader will be adopted after the previous leader is approximately 45 years old.

Not so many are candidates for leadership, because most others come from branch families. Because the descendants of the original Kendrick are very few, As now the previous Leader only has three children.

In the event, everyone who uses black robes acts as a witness. Then, those who became candidates used clean white robes as a sign of the representation of the world of light. Kashel used his head covering, as he was embarrassed to dress differently, only three people were wearing different clothes.

Kashel is seen coming along with Rainer who is currently using the attributes of his black robe.

"Uncle, can I use the same robe as Uncle alone." Kashel said he's too nervous right now.

"Pacify yourself, Kashel, don't care about anyone else's eyes on you. We just need to finish this show." Said Rainer who was walking beside Kashel.

"Thank you Uncle, you're with me." Kashel was nervous, many eyes were on him. Because many protested better suited his second son Deon who became a candidate for leader than Kashel who could not do anything.

In the hubbub an open portal, from the portal appeared a Guardian that appeared with its aura that he did not hide at all.

Everyone immediately looked down respectfully at him, not daring to stare. Kashel looked confused by all the people who had been boisterous suddenly turned into silence upon the arrival of the Guardian.

"Kashel follow the ritual, even though you're not afraid of the aura of the Guardian Lord." Rainer and Kashel whispered directly, Kashel did feel the Guardian's great energy enveloping the event. But, Kashel did not feel the slightest fear for that energy.

The Guardian began to walk to the altar that had been provided. While on his way to the altar because the future leader had to stand in front to greet the Guardian with his guardian so accidentally Kashel who was curious and only half respecting the Guardian was met. At that moment Kashel immediately lowered his gaze again.

Did I make a mistake, Kashel thought. He had not seen the Guardian for a long time, when the Guardian disguised himself as a Kashel man even had time to carry him in the middle of the forest. Kashel didn't even think the helpless man was the Guardian.

What a place this is, Kashel feels like in another realm.

Wasn't I at the new leader's election. Kashel looked to and fro the place like a vacuum even now he was not treading anything.

What's going on is actually. Inner Kashel.

The robed man appeared beside him. That's the Guardian.

"Why are you here?" kashel asked if he wanted to step down but could not.

"I didn't expect to be sent here with you either." The Guardian looked at Kashel.

"What happened, how did I get out of this place?" Kashel was looking for a way to get out of that place.

"My strength resonates with you, for a while there's nothing we can do. Kashel." - Kashel." Kashel simply looked at the Guardian, not afraid at all unlike before. Right now the Guardian energy felt very clean to Kashel like never before who seemed to be mixed with a terrifying dark energy.

The Guardian's eyes looked warm, if his face could be seen he was smiling at Kashel.

"Let's!"

Kashel was shocked when he was sitting in the front seat, next to him another Rainer just watching Kashel acting strangely.

"What's Kashel?" ask Rainer. Rai was seen paying attention to Kashel, while the others did not care.

"Guardian why did he get into my dream?" Kashel said directly without further ado. It was also seen from where the Guardian's eyes were pointing towards Kashel.

"Because you were chosen Kashel." Rainer replied but did not explain anything after that. Kashel did not want to think about it, this is why Kashel did not want to get close to the Guardian within certain limits. Because the creature often enters the subconscious Kashel which he thinks is very disturbing.

The sacred event of the appointment of a new leader has finally begun. Rai, Kashel, and Aqilla were performing a hereditary ritual on the altar provided with the Guardian standing before the three of them.

"Rai Clovis Kendrick, I appoint you as the next successor of The Borders Organization."

Everyone stood up and immediately cheered cheerfully accepting the Guardian's decision towards the next leader.

The most disappointed among them was Aqilla Kendrick. He failed to take the place his father had previously occupied, while Kashel felt all the weight on his shoulders had been lifted.

Finally finished too. Kashel felt relieved.

However, throughout the event Rai was chosen but the Guardian's eyes were more on Kashel.

Kashel returned to his seat beside Rainer.

The final ceremony is a blood contract, in which Rai must give his life to keep The Borders Organization until the next leader is appointed.

Rai, who had finished the show, sat back in his seat next to Kashel.

"Ah, now my parents are satisfied with this achievement." His grunts, unscrewed his cloak and sat down to sling his legs casually beside Kashel, who was seen to be silent.

"I want to be like Kashel, free at will. Uwah I'm envious." Rai kept babbling. People started to disperse from the show. There are also those who congratulate Rai, but Rai only greet them at all times, because Rai knows they are all sycophants.

I can't move. Think Kashel.

Kashel also wanted to congratulate Rai on his achievement, but he could not even recite the words of Rai who continued to speak beside him.

"Kashel are you okay?" Rai asked, he was worried why Kashel suddenly became so quiet like that.

But his attention was distracted when his father called him and then he was busy with his families congratulating him on Rai's achievement.

It's beginning. Inner Rainer, he saw the Guardian who walked up to the two of them when many people had left the place of the ceremony, only a part of it still survived.

Kashel who tried to move only seemed to be able to move his finger. He felt his entire body being gripped by something that did not hurt him and was pressed down firmly. It also controls itself.

The bowed Kashel saw the black robe standing before him, it was the Guardian who approached him.

Kashel wanted to open his mouth but could not.

"Follow me," the words immediately made Kashel stand up, Kashel's gaze blank, his body controlled.

Kashel was conscious but he was currently just like watching his body being controlled by something.

What's going on is actually. That was all Kashel could think of.

Rainer just followed them without saying anything. He always accompanied Kashel.

People just pay attention to them, not knowing what is going to happen exactly.

Among the crowd, there was a person wearing a black robe with a suspicious expression.
