The Borders

The Borders
Part 16 – Truths about Lyam

It's been a few days since Lyam disappeared without saying a word. Kashel took over all the office duties, he did not have time to think about where Lyam went in his busy ranks. Lately, there have been a lot of duty reports coming into his office. Not to mention he had to deal with clients who asked for help from his division.

In the end, Kashel had time to think about Lyam. He felt difficult because his colleagues who usually do the report work did not go home.

Oh, why should I think about it. It's not like I should be happy if he doesn't come back. Kashel denied. But he did not deny that he was still worried about Lyam.

But suddenly Kashel who was walking in his office room intended to come out immediately fell his body shook.

Kyler, who was in the room with Kashel, was surprised and immediately helped her to stand up and sit Kashel on a nearby sofa.

"You all right, chief?" kyler asked frantically, looking at the trembling Kashel while letting out a cold sweat. Kashel could not focus on what Kyler said, he heard nothing.

Shortness, what is this feeling. I thought Lyam wasn't okay. Why did Lyam leave without saying anything. In Kashel's mind he held his chest tight, but soon Kashel's feelings began to improve.

"You okay?"

A voice went into Kashel's head making him shocked and touching his head with one hand. Kyler was still panicked and confused by Kashel's attitude.

"It's okay, but why don't you tell me you're not okay! What dark feeling was that?" Kashel nagged in his head, asking for an explanation.

"If I take you too I'm sure you'll reject it immediately,"

"Of course I won't come." Kashel replied with a firm refusal.

"I went to calm down. I'll be right back." Liam said without explaining anything, their minds stopped connecting afterwards.

Why was it so dark, what exactly happened. Kashel leaned on the sofa while breathing a sigh of relief. Kyler came to bring him some water to drink.

"Chairman drink, are you okay?" Kyler asked again he was still worried.

"Thank you, I'm fine." Kashel received the drinking water given by Kyler and drank it. Kyler then resumed his work.

Kyler did not ask much, though Kashel did not explain anything to her. Kyler thought the chairman was just exhausted from lack of rest.

Lyam was standing on a giant white pillar. The pillar floated in the air in a place where only the sky around it was visible but different from the sky in general the sky in that place was filled with abstract colors although dominated by black, black, this place is a world of borders.

The place that was between the Human World and the Spirit World was filled with a balance of darkness and light. A place where the Guardian calmed down in case something happened to their body and soul. The place of origin of The Borders before it was seen in the eyes of humans, a region that could not be visited by anyone other than those who had a close relationship with The Borders.

Lyam opens the portal and passes through, Kashel who is in his office also feels soon Lyam will be completely back. He could feel Liam passing through a portal he had made.

And Kashel knew exactly where Lyam had gone before without even telling Kashel, for Kashel knew only that place for the Guardian to calm down, after which Kashel heard Lyam's reasoning.

Kashel can feel anything that comes up through the Border Portal, but the feeling that Kashel feels is not like when he goes through the portal that he made to pass himself. The feeling didn't bother him so much but it was enough for Kashel to know.

Once created, Liam was given a name by a woman who was the wife of Kendrick. The woman gave the Guardian the name Liam Raymond.

Liam used that name when Liam changed his identity to that of an ordinary human. And people call him the Guardian when Lyam takes things seriously as a form of consciousness from The Borders.

Since it was created, Liam knows that in his body there is a darkness that is devouring it slowly and Liam needs someone to be used as a container of his soul. Because Lyam knows, Liam can't do everything alone.

Lyam just knows, his goal was created to maintain the balance of the two worlds. So that the world is not destroyed by that imbalance.

As long as Lyam lives, Lyam will never allow the Spirit of Darkness to become strong and disturb the peace of life of an ordinary man who knows nothing, and again his only purpose is to protect the balance of the two worlds, without any reason.

Lyam knew nothing of human feelings or of the spirit of darkness, though Liam was a counterweight between them, and Lyam understood nothing.

Here he knew because the dark forces were strengthening and disturbing the Light World. Then one who must be the container of his soul, must be from among the beings of the light world, namely humans. Of course the end goal is to maintain that balance.

Lyam continued to search for it for hundreds of years, maintaining that darkness would not devour its existence. Leaving the Kendrick family he cared for and continuing to look for a suitable human to be used as a container of soul.

Liam knew if he did that, one day Liam would also die like a container from his soul which is human.

But inevitably Liam must do it for the balance of the two worlds and if he does not do so Lyam will also remain lost because it is swallowed by darkness.

For hundreds of years Liam met with various kinds of humans, but Liam never understood human feelings. In his heart there was still only an empty feeling but he never wanted to think about it at all.

Liam always tests his strength on people who feel they have a match with his strength.

But in the end they either go crazy and out of control, or at least not until they can't accept the ability any more or they will be destroyed and die.

Amidst the dark force that continued to spread within his body. Liam decided to try being a student in the Spiritual Academy trying to understand human feelings. Creature from the world of light, to seek its own light.

Just trying to be an ordinary man, but he accidentally met again with a small child who had once given a book.

From the very beginning Liam met her he was very interested in seeing her, his dark black eyes filled with emptiness. It was as if there was an infinite space within his body.

He happened to be famous in the Spiritual Academy because of the powerful protective spell ability he possessed. Lyam actually just wanted to try her famous ability. The ability of a spell without magic energy, but using energy from his own body, through the blood he drops on a spell paper.

Who in the end accidentally found the person he had been looking for for hundreds of years, fate guided Liam to an accident. Perhaps Liam would not have met him again if he had not entered the Spiritual Academy back then.

If it was Liam hundreds of years ago, he would instantly make it his soul container without giving it a time limit though.

But after peeking at Kashel's feelings, the feelings that Lyam had never felt. The strong desire belongs to Kashel, the feeling of man.

Lyam could feel the feeling of Kashel as the power of Lyam and Kashel's spell resonated. Kashel, who begged for mercy for feeling both great power and darkness, belonged to Lyam. But Liam felt a genuine warmth and light from Kashel's heart.

The darkness that was on him faded away like never before, probably because it was absorbed by the strong feeling that Kashel had when their power resonated.

After learning about it, and finding that Kashel was angry with him even Kashel knew he was not human. Lyam disappeared afterwards to give Kashel time to live his life as an ordinary human as he wished.

Because ultimately Kashel will have a destiny that is inversely proportional to what he wants for his own life.

After feeling the feelings that Kashel had, Lyam actually did not have the heart to force the young man to be a part of him. However, he had no other choice but to make Kashel his vessel of soul because the darkness still devoured him slowly and it would mess things up.

Kashel was eventually forced to become his soul container in the end. From before that Lyam had vowed to faithfully follow Kashel everywhere, supporting him in any case.

Whatever path Kashel chose, he would follow it whether it be the path of darkness or light. Although it should have been after finding the container of his soul they had to stay at the border to maintain the balance there.

But Lyam chose to follow Kashel everywhere. He believed in Kashel's ability to maintain the balance of the two worlds without sacrificing anything else.

Lyam had already arrived in front of the Dusk Boundary Division Office. He opened the door and went in there. Finding Kashel's friends he felt a warmth there, which he had previously felt in him was just a dark empty space.

"You're back, welcome." Kashel welcomes Lyam. And Lyam just nodded coldly as usual.

"I need an explanation!" Kashel immediately nagged Liam after that, the incident really bothers him.

"Read my mind." Lyam's short answer to Kashel, Kashel would never do so because he hated his thoughts of being connected to others.

Better Kashel didn't know than to have to do it.

Lyam would not tell it, other than Kashel himself who found out. In fact, as Kashel rages in anger, the fading darkness begins to devour Lyam again.

So he immediately hurried to calm down, because otherwise he would have gone berserk and Kashel would have been affected by it. As before when he put away the darkness, Kashel immediately felt it.

Kashel actually knew, if he was used as a vessel of the soul to calm the darkness that is in Lyam. Kashel denied that he could, but Lyam only answered with a faint smile. Because if Kashel can't be long he's dead, or at least lose his feelings as a human.
