The Borders

The Borders
Part 57 – New Mission

Rainer was seen falling asleep on the sofa in their room. Kashel was busy typing a report on his laptop.

"Hom!" occasionally Kashel yawned, then he read the paper of the report he would write in his report.

"A little bit more, I have to finish this for, Uncle." Kashel said excitedly to see Rainer sleeping.

Kashel finally finished his report, then turned off his laptop after storing the data. And immediately lying asleep afterwards, Kashel felt sleepy.

Not long after, Rainer woke up from a good night's sleep.

"Goodness my report" he said, searching for his old papers. Then he looked towards Kashel who was sound asleep on the other sofa. There was a pile of paper and a neatly arranged laptop on his desk.

But before checking his report Rainer first enveloped Kashel who was sleeping carelessly with her T-shirt and shorts.

Rainer then retrieves his laptop and checks the report made by Kashel.

"This kid really did a good job. All right, let's rest a little longer then." Rainer then laid himself down on the sofa again, continuing his sleep.

That afternoon Kashel and Rainer were getting ready to meet their clients again at a diner.

Kashel with his casual jacket, wearing sports pants and sports shoes also with black matching color. He likes to wear clothes like that when doing fieldwork.

While Rainer still wears clothes usually with a typical fedora hat will be himself.

The two of them entered the dining hall that looked like a casual cafe. There a man was sitting waiting for their arrival, a man with a large height of pale white stature, his eyes invisible because he was wearing very mysterious sunglasses.

Kashel who approached him felt an unfamiliar energy in the man, but Kashel felt he had never met him at all. So then Kashel casually approached the man, thinking it was just his feelings.

Kashel simply eavesdropped on their conversation.

"So what duty are you going to give me this time?" rainer asked curiously, Rainer knew it was the Guardian disguised as a human. In order for Kashel to be unsuspecting of his existence and to feel disturbed, Rainer and the Guardian interacted frequently. Because of their good relationship.

"Introduce my name Lyam," he said, leaving Kashel shocked and looking at him suspiciously.

"What's Kashel?" Rainer asked confusedly.

"Ah is okay Uncle, I just remember that I once met a person named Liam as well. I thought it was him." Kashel plainly explained that Rainer almost choked on the coffee he drank because Kashel was right.

"But there's no way Uncle, he looks different. Maybe it's just the same name." Kashel began to cool down again to drink the drink he ordered.

Rainer and Liam looked at each other because of their own actions. Lyam did not expect Kashel's memory to be so strong about him, Kashel was not so stupid as to forget the number one student in the Spiritual Academy. And the Guardian was already very used to his human name Lyam.

*What T*uan Guardian is stupid, if it is found to be useless in disguise. Inner Rainer addressed the Guardian or Liam.

For Kashel if he was the Guardian, it would be impossible to ask ordinary humans like Kashel and Rainer who were obviously weak, that was the opinion of Kashel but not of his own Lyam. Kashel did not know if their whereabouts were also needed.

"So what's the assignment this time?" tanya Rainer continued his discussion after experiencing a meaningless awkwardness, it turned out that Kashel did not think too much about it.

"Can you guys do your duty this time, go to the Dark Spirit cave in the Humid Forest of Nantai Village."

"Bats coming from the cave were unsettling to the citizens who lived there. But, none of the citizens dared to go check on the place, as some said the place was inhabited by a giant bat monster." Obviously Lyam on Rainer.

"Rainer I entrust this task to you, because I have other work to do." Lyam walked over to Rainer's side and whispered saying so that Kashel would not hear him.

After Lyam moved away, Kashel opened his voice.

"Uncle why is that person so scary, are we going to see him often?" Kashel asked the question because he felt the creepy aura of Liam.

"Yes Kashel, we will meet him often because he is our regular client who sometimes asks us to work on missions." Rainer began to explain. Kashel looked snorted dislike.

"The data will be recorded after we submit the report from it to the Head Office, the center will be to the client's location and we will be centrally funded to go there, so we will not work in vain." Rainer explained to Kashel who still did not understand their work system.

"In front of him you'll probably see him a lot Kashel." Rainer continued his words while starting to drink the coffee he ordered.

"If I wasn't with Uncle, I don't think I'd want to see that person again. He was creepy," said Kashel also continued to drink his drink, Rainer just silently heard Kashel's response, he also did not know what to do later.

After preparing all of their prep items, the two of them rushed to the predetermined location.

Unlike the other Boundary Guard Knights, Rainer had a more specialized job. He is actually a native Head Office employee not from any branch office, assigned to work in the field.

Throughout his work he almost never worked in the office and prefers adventure. Unbeknownst to Kashel, Rainer is very close to the Guardian. So that the center curbs it with strict rules, but still frees it.

Rainer would definitely always be assigned in dangerous cases, in contrast to the other Boundary Guard Knights. Rainer never wanted to be paired by anyone in carrying out his duties, because he did not want to put others in danger because of it.

However, as Kashel was the child the Guardian had been looking for all this time, Rainer accepted him as his partner.

The goal was for Kashel to get used to the danger and the Spirit of Darkness in the future. Because Kashel would be destined to be a different person, at least in his experience he was no longer afraid of the various forms of the Spirit of Darkness, and was accustomed to it.

Though the work of apprentice servants was generally not as heavy as what Kashel was doing now, their work was at most just cleaning up the location of the former Senior Border Guard Knights fighting with the Spirit of Darkness, not to cause bad perceptions in the community. Or even there are interns who only work in the office.

Kashel fell asleep on the way to Nantai Village.

"This child, even he can still sleep soundly when in this mission not necessarily we will go home safely," Rainer smoked his cigarette relaxed while driving the car he brought. Kashel fell asleep in the back seat of the car, wrapping her body in the jacket she was wearing.
