The Borders

The Borders
Section 67 – Rainer Versus Wolves Broad

Kashel returned again to the place inside him that looked like a clean white empty space.

"What's this?" his murmur could only pay attention without being able to do anything.

He looked around like he was absorbing the dark energy bit by bit and neutralizing it. But that feeling made Kashel tired.

"What really happened to this place?" kashel muttered he did not understand, suddenly a dark plume of smoke came approaching Kashel quickly. The young man ran away in fear afterwards. Unbeknownst to him the dark energy chasing after him had vanished behind him.

"Kashels!" Rainer woke Kashel, making Kashel wake up in great shock. His body was filled with sweat at that moment.

"What's Kashel doing, you okay?" rainer asked worriedly, Kashel just nodded while confirming his breathing.

"I had a bad dream, Uncle. I feel the dark energy of this forest chasing me." Kashel.

"You mustn't fear Kashel, for if you fear the energy will be more and more intensely pursuing you." Rainer explained, now it's her turn to rest. Although dangerous, but inevitably he had to rest to restore his strength.

Kashel then lost his drowsiness, he just silently hugged his knee to the small bonfire in front of him afraid to fall asleep after what he had experienced some time ago. Beside him was Rainer who was resting.

Kashel felt that the darkness was terrible because it left a real sense of fear.

Then Kashel remembered the energy of The Borders that he had seen also in him, he felt very afraid because the creature was very large and could have immediately obliterated the existence of Kashel, but the fear that the energy from The Borders gave was different. Fear that gives you calm.

"Why do I think about it, it's the same anyway. The entire magic energy was equally frightening." Murmured Kashel himself.

The Borders energy was terrifying because it was too big and powerful especially around it there were dark energies trying to influence it. It makes the energy more terrifying. Kashel should not be able to compare him to anything. But, Kashel also could not underestimate the pure dark energy that evoked fear, hatred, and darkness in the heart.

Not long after, a black blue lightning suddenly shot out from Rainer's body. Kashel looked surprised and immediately retreated.

"What happened to Uncle." Kashel was confused as to what to do. But he could not let Rainer be like that, no matter if he would be injured or not because of the lightning that Kashel touched.

"Uncle!" Kashel immediately touched Rainer's shoulder and felt a strong tremor coming at him but because Kashel's panic did not care about it, Rainer's magic power could also be seen by Kashel's ordinary human eyes, because Rainer's magic power is quite strong and different magic power.

Rainer immediately regained his senses and sat himself down. He was grateful to be freed from the Spirit of Darkness that bound him in his subconscious because of the coming of Kashel who touched him, he would not have known what would have happened if Kashel had not been there or if it had not been Kashel who removed his darkness.

"We can't sleep here at night Kashel." Obviously Rainer.

At last until the sun rose they did not sleep Kashel was just playing a bonfire because he did not know what to do, while Rainer he looked up at the sky that night the moon was shining brightly. They both lost their drowsiness or rather endured their drowsiness.

Then, after sunrise they rested because the dark energy there is only strong at night, they here never prey on humans. So the spirits that were here did not have time to evolve.

After the sun was slightly scorching Kashel and Rainer continued on his way again.

This time they were walking in a place filled with thick snowstorms, the horse they had brought them left behind because in this place there was no way they could ride. Kashel even shook while walking in the snow, although she had been wearing Kashel's cold clothes, she was still unfamiliar.

"Prelease Kashel we must find shelter. And continue tomorrow again." Rainer said to Kashel, who seemed to be half-conscious as he spoke. The cold made Kashel no longer strong.

Luckily, Rainer found a cave that he could use overnight.

There Kashel was exposed to symptoms of hypothermia because he was not accustomed to extreme temperatures. Where they live in the city of Baltesam there are only two seasons, the rainy season and summer.  This time he actually felt a chill that he did not know if the consequences would be this severe.

Rainer used his magic to dry Kashel's cold shivering body and then light a bonfire and warm Kashel there.

"I feel sleepy, Uncle." Kashel murmured he could no longer bear his drowsiness.

"Hold off Kashel, try not to fall asleep now." Rainer told Kashel to keep the young man awake and not to fall asleep because it could aggravate his hypothermia symptoms.

A white wolf entered the cave wanting to attack them, but it seemed that the wolf was not an ordinary wolf, but a Dark Spirit that possessed the wolf.

He immediately jumped to attack Rainer and Rainer lured him out, even in the midst of a blizzard they still had to fight. But Kashel is currently unable to do anything, he still has to recover himself.

Luckily Rainer was able to defeat the wolf and kill it even though the wolf was possessed by the Spirit of Darkness. The strength of the wolf remained weak because all that possessed it was the weak Dark Spirit that resided in the snowy valley. The Dark Spirit who felt attracted because of the existence of humans.

But apparently, the wolf attack did not stop there, but he called his other friends. So it must make Rainer fight all night in the middle of a snowstorm. Luckily he could magic so cold he could resist, unlike Kashel.

There was one who apparently went into the cave where Kashel rested Rainer nimbly immediately immediately look at the state of Kashel, how shocked Rainer was a wolf that overstimulated Kashel's body and blood poured down on the ground.

He thought that Kashel had died being bitten by the wolf, but when the wolf moved, it turned out that it was Kashel who had killed the wolf from his body, Rainer was relieved. Kashel did not say anything directly putting down his little sword carelessly. He was still unstable but had to fight until he fell asleep.

The next morning Kashel woke up feeling better. He remembered last night the reflex of killing a wolf who suddenly wanted to pounce on him as Rainer fought outside. Not far from him was seen Rainer who had been sleeping recklessly exhausted with a pile of wolf carcasses.

"Uncle!" Kashel panicked he thought Rainer was not doing well.

"Let me rest Kashel," Rainer murmured making Kashel breathe a sigh of relief because of it. Rainer's body was seen heavily exposed to the blood of the wolves he killed as well as the clothes that Kashel was wearing. Kashel enveloped the sleeping Rainer. That morning the blizzard had stopped, the weather around looked clear despite the many carcasses of wolves.

It was after the two of them completely felt fine and filled their stomachs. They continue their journey.
