Section 98 – Early Browsing

By the day, Kashel had to carry out his duty to go to the ruins. In a dead city in the middle of a desert.

This time Kashel asked Kyler and Freda to come with him.

"Are you guys ready?" kashel asked that he would not force his friends to come with him after all there was much work as well rather than just looking for magic artifacts that could even put lives at risk. But, it seemed that the two men would not refuse Kashel's request.

Chain and Erphan had already raised their hands with Kashel, saying they had to take turns to carry out their duties together with Kashel to be fair.

"I'm really excited chairman, I've been looking forward to working with the chairman for a long time." Kyler was seen warming up before leaving.

"Calm Kashel, maybe my ability is better suited if I have to go to the ruins, because my ability is very effective to change its shape into various forms." Freda smiled gently, very sure as well. Freda knows they need a variety of tools to get there. Freda's abilities are the most immediate and practical for their travels.

"Thank God I don't have to worry." Kashel said, they immediately left after all the goods provided were put into the car.

"Oh yes, chief, Mr Liam is not coming?" Kyler asked.

"Uum, more precisely Liam knows where I am. Not like me, if I have to look for him I don't know where Liam is, unless he's within my range to sense his whereabouts." Kashel explained, Kashel felt that there was a certain distance to be obeyed.

"Oh yeah Kyler, you don't have to call me and Liam in formal terms, just relax."

Kashel had wanted to tell Kyler for a long time, but the two of them rarely interacted because they were busy with their respective jobs. The man sitting next to her nodded in agreement, and it was Kashel who was driving their car.

Freda sat in the back seat relaxing. However, as he entered the forest road into the desert, Kashel drove a very reckless car.

"Kashel please be careful!" Freda who was in the back was screaming in fear. Kyler looks very tense. Because Kashel was driving recklessly on the mountain road, all the hollow roads he hit violently. Kyler with her tense expression could not say anything.

No, we're not going to die here because of the Spirit of Darkness. That's Kyler's head.

At every turn Kashel turned sharply and violently, even though it was on the edge of the abyss. Until they finally reached the entrance of the rocky cave that directly connects to the desert, cars could not get there so they had to park in front of the rock cliff.

No we're gonna crash!

Freda broke out in panic, during the driving on the mountain road and the forest the three of them did not say anything because they were dissolved in their respective panic thoughts.

The sound of the car's brakes creaked loudly because Kashel was driving very recklessly.

"We survived." Kashel sighed as his car hit the brakes just inches away from the boulder.

Freda and Kyler rush out of the car.

"Geek!" Kyler vomits.

"You're so bad Kashel, I wouldn't be in that car if you were the driver." Freda's trauma felt really close to death.

"Who told me to drive, anyway now I say it's safe." Kashel's remarks made them realize that among the three of them no one is really an expert in driving a car let alone Kyler is still a minor as well.

"When I go home, I want to go with someone else." Freda was traumatized and no longer wanted to join Kashel driving in the car. Kashel did not argue either, after all he was indeed not an expert in driving a car, if it was on a forest road.

"Here we are, we have come here, at most Lyam will join us." Kashel said that if there is a Lyam, that person will drive later when they come home.

"Now we have to buy a horse first in the nearest village." In the entrance of the desert was a village selling horses. Although barren and arid, there seemed to be people who ventured down the desert. Because there are some researchers who are also interested in past civilizations there.

"Kashel you look so relaxed, did you ever go to the desert?" Kashel held her chin as Kyler asked.

"Yes, I've been a long time. I almost died of thirst. Luckily before dying, we met the oasis. So this is why I brought you here because you're a waterbender." Kashel smiled, Freda looked at Kashel as if he had taken advantage of plain little children.

Kyler was not offended he looked excited. Because of Kashel's words, he found it very useful for Kashel. Even if you cannot use water well, at least Kyler can cool the hot air.

"But Kashel kaukan now can also use the water element." Freda's words immediately made Kashel remember something, he forgot.

"I've never used it." Kashel laughed awkwardly while scratching the back of his head.

"Maybe here the chairman will use it." Kyler looks excited.

"If you could not want to." Kashel Mumbled.

"Oh yes, chief why don't we use the portal to go there?" ask Kyler again.

Kashel shook his head, "Portal can be used if we know its direction and purpose, at least its place must be clearly recognized. I can't teleport, to a place I've never even seen." Kashel.

"Can be guessing but maybe we will be sent to the middle of the sea or the crater of the volcano is creepy." Kashel looked creepy when explaining it.

Given that Kashel was careless in carrying a car, Kyler and Freda were also not sure whether to pass through the portal made by Kashel could what Kashel said to be a reality. Instead of going home, they will go back to another world.

"We can go home through the portal I created when we're done with our mission." Kashel.

"Hearing your explanation I'm not sure you can drive us home safely if we go through the portal, even if it's very practical." Freda explained again.

"So fine, if you can survive in the desert it doesn't matter if we go home without going through the portal." Kashel agreed.

"Fruit! It's so hot." Currently the three of them were only wearing t-shirts. They don't yet know their exact destination in which direction they just know to keep walking towards the north. Even Kyler's protective spirit is unable to cool the three of them down and tired of resting inside Kyler's body again, the three of them have to fight in the middle of the hot desert with their own efforts.

"If it's like this, I don't care if I go home through the portal." Kyler could no longer stand it even though their riding was exhausted. Freda could only nod.

"We have to find an oasis to rest." The exhausted Kashel also tried hard for the sake of his friends. Kyler uses her water element ability to sense water vapor in the air and tries to find a source of water. But during the walk he could not guess where the oasis in the desert was. They also began to run out of their water supplies and began to thirst.

"Water element." Kashel muttered and began to focus when he saw his two friends who had run out of steam, this was the first time he had used his water element ability.
