The Borders
Section 71 – Not the Chosen

"You are not a chosen one, but your body can use that power, and also if you want to survive you must always use that ability, otherwise your body will explode. As a result of the magic energy that is growing." The Guardian explained everything to Rainer.

"Thank you for saving my life, sir." He said he was crying. He was devastated by the loss of those he loved. In that village only he survived.

The Dark Spirit that attacked the village where Rainer came from managed to escape. But Rainer doesn't blame the Guardian for arriving late in his village.

He is determined to defeat the dark energy that has ruined his happiness and avenge his entire family.

From then on he followed wherever the Guardian went, and in the end he chose to work at The Borders Organization Headquarters and received various tasks from there, because he can't always follow the Guardian anywhere. He also has restrictions, but sometimes the Guardian can give special assignments for him that the Head Office cannot interfere in.

Rainer often feels uncomfortable with the abilities he has, because he does not match the Guardian's energy. So to overcome that Rainer often diverts it by smoking cigarettes.

So now after what happened in his past, Rainer will do whatever it takes to keep the person of value to him from letting the events of his past reoccur.

With his becoming a Border Guard Knight, Rainer wants to protect everyone's happiness, even though what he does doesn't mean much to others. He gladly did.

Rainer wants to see Kashel happy on the path of her own choice, like a parent supporting her child.

But what brought him to Kashel was the fate that awaited him. Even so, Rainer wanted Kashel to remain himself.

"Uncle, it's lunch time." Kashel invites Rainer to eat that lunch to disperse all Rainer's daydreams. Kashel still felt uneasy from thinking things over the forbidden magic symbol. But, Kashel did not want to discuss it anymore.

"There's Uncle?" kashel asked to catch Rainer staring at him.

"I just have a request for you." Rainer continued his meal.

"Is that Uncle, I hope it's not some weird request?" kashel asked, still not feeling well.

"The future request of Uncle, Uncle wants Kashel to have a lot of friends and stay as you are." Said Rainer informing him of his request.

"Umm, I'm gonna find a lot of friends. And if I'm successful and then I have a lot of friends, Uncle has to look at it and be proud of me. Haha." Kashel said excitedly. Along with Rainer, Kashel felt he had a clear purpose in life.

"Uncle should see it later." Kashel said, Rainer just smiled.

"Continue eating you cold out later." Rainer said, switching their conversation.

"Uncle I want to hear Uncle's past, will Uncle tell me." Kashel feels that the two of them despite being close in a year or so there is much that is not yet known.

"Of course, Uncle will tell you, but you don't cry." Rainer.

"I am strong Uncle," Kashel felt confident.

After hearing Rainer's explanation. Kashel wept as well, he could not hear Rainer's sad past. But Rainer didn't tell me he was getting powers from the Guardian.

"There's no need to cry Kashel, you're the man who's grown up to be." Rainer said in a panic, he did not know to calm the person who was crying.

"Uncle's story is very sad. I can't help but cry Uncle, I'm sorry." Kashel wiped away her tears.

"At the moment, I already have you Kashel as my family." Rainer smiled and picked up a box of chocolates.

"I hear chocolate is good for getting better moods back." Rainer handed the chocolate to Kashel.

"I'm not a little boy anymore Uncle." Kashel felt like a child being persuaded to cry, though he had never been persuaded by anyone to cry in his childhood.

After that Kashel and Rainer talked a lot and talked together, but actually their togetherness will not be long.

As Kashel and Rainer had been through a lot as colleagues, Rainer's internship was over.

"Thank you Uncle for guiding me" said Kashel, Rainer handed over a file that looked like it was a certificate marking the completion of Kashel's internship.  One more month will be appointed the new leader of The Borders Organization and after that Kashel will be completely free.

"So Kashel, what do you want to do next month?" asked Rainer who was celebrating Kashel's graduation as the Knights of the Boundary Guard. He is currently in the residence that Rainer rented.

"I want Uncle's rest, for now. I don't want to think about it yet." Kashel said he wanted to relax, he wanted to enjoy his freedom for a moment.

"Ah, in the future I will do my duty as a Boundary Guard Knight alone again." Rainer said, seeking Kashel's sympathy.

"Yahwaa! I'm sorry Uncle, I can't follow Uncle anymore." Kashel feels bad, he wants to always be close to Rainer but he has also made up his mind to pursue his own dreams.

"Hahaha, it's okay Kashel. Do what you like for now, but we will rarely meet. Since I also have to work, stay here as you please. I'll be back when my job is done. And have a good meal with you." Rainer patted Kashel on the shoulder, who is about 20 years old, about two months away.

"I'll always wait for Uncle to come home, so don't take long for the job." Kashel.

Two weeks before the event appointed the leader of The Borders Organization. It was Rainer's 40th day. Kashel prepared a small gift for Rainer.

PLOP!

Small shiny colorful paper flew in the air.

"Welcome to Uncle, may you live a long life." Kashel congratulates Rainer on growing older.

"Gosh, I didn't expect to grow old, hahaha." Rainer was excited.

"Pronounce Uncle's wish" said Kashel.

"I want to be able to celebrate Kashel's birthday next month as well." The prayer Rainer had asked for was quite simple but moved Kashel, as it would be difficult to achieve later.

"Let's have some fun for my birthday next month. Now we enjoy Uncle." Kashel said excitedly.

Rainer who rarely went home before so often return to his residence even though only a rental room, because there is someone he considers his family waiting for him to come home. Rainer wants this happiness to last much longer.

They spent the afternoon eating the cake that Kashel had made.

Rainer fell asleep after he was exhausted because last night he had to deal with the Spirit of Darkness. He fell asleep on the couch after feeling full, in order to accompany Kashel he lasted a little longer not to fall asleep despite being tired.

"I'm sorry Uncle, you should have taken a break from earlier." Kashel murmured to Rainer, then he cleaned up the trash that was strewn on the floor because their little birthday party was over.
