The Borders

The Borders
Section 43 – Pass Alone

Kashel's squad had arrived wounded and Kashel remained silent in his other seat, collecting his depleted stamina.

He felt his body very weak at this moment, he was exhausted from having walked for three more hours without rest.

Even Kashel was unaware that his squad had arrived in a state of injuries from fighting against the Spirit of Darkness.

"What happened to you guys?" ask the guidance teacher, they are declared not to pass the exam because they have passed the predetermined time limit.

"We're stuck fighting with the Spirit of Darkness." Said one of Kashel's teammates. He said while grimacing in pain the young man named Jeya, the other three were speechless.

"But because of your failure, you were declared not to pass this test." Their faces all looked surprised. Can't protest anything.

"And one of your friends Kashel, was declared to pass alone in this test." The teacher continued to say, although it does not affect much, but not the passing of them in this exam will affect their grades and lower their rankings. Because it had failed to track down the magic energy which was the basic ability of the Boundary Guard Knights even though this was quite difficult.

"What the fuck, how could he possibly pass." Said a woman who was in a squad with Kashel. Her name is Mia.

"He left us earlier, when we fought." Said one of the men in the squad the young man was named Drax. And others nodded. There is another one who does not care anymore about the test because of fatigue he named Rewa.

"Should not the weak be abandoned rather than a burden on the team." Lyam suddenly came insinuating the four people. He felt annoyed that there were still human Boundary Knight candidates who only thought of their own interests.

Wasn't their presence actually to help humans who were in trouble because of the Spirit of Darkness.

However, lately Liam found a difference from the ancient times, now they are competing who is the most powerful. Not who can help others.

"My teacher also left my teammates because they were useless, so what their friend did should not be wrong." Lyam defends Kashel for some reason why he who is a Guardian is willing to defend a weak man like Kashel. Lyam felt that Kashel, who was an ordinary man, was the one he had to protect. Like other ordinary people. He also left his team because he thought he could take care of themselves.

Honestly, ever since Kashel was born, Liam has been watching him. Because Kendrick's main family is a potential heir to The Borders Organization. Lyam is always present in the birth of the candidate leader.

At that time Kashel's parents were very happy with the birth of Kashel expecting much with the child, but after Liam explained that the child had no magic energy after he saw it.

Kashel's parents looked disappointed at the time, but then the Guardian asked him to take good care of him until the appointment of a new leader in the future because after all Kashel was also one of the candidates for leadership, even though it has no magic energy.

He did not know if the child would be forced to such an extent to become a Boundary Knight, even being reviled by the people, Kashel could still be kind to the people.

Even if he wanted to he could boast of himself as one of the future heirs of The Borders Organization to make people at least a little respectful to him, but he did not do so at all.

Kashel thought about it, Kashel thought that if he did it, it would be useless. Maybe he will be oppressed by his friends.

It's not that Kashel was never angry. Kashel is still a normal human being. There were times when he complained about his life, but after that he returned to his fortitude. He thought there was no time for him to be in grief.

Their injuries were then treated by the medical team, no comment from the guidance teacher. Because Kashel's graduation was also considered pure. He was just an ordinary human being not told where the magic energy they were looking for was located and how the magic energy was.

Cashel the common man could find it, though, if he followed others it would also be impossible because the paths not all could be passed through the straight path so that people with protective spirits would definitely leave Kashel on foot. That was the mind of his guidance teacher, the child had a natural talent when his inner eyes opened.

That evening's exam began to disperse at twelve p.m. All students are led to return to their dormitories.

Kashel was already very exhausted in fact but he still forced himself back to the dormitory as well, as he could not alone stay in the mountain.

Eating the magic pill to restore his stamina would be useless to Kashel who was a commoner. So inevitably he returned in a very exhausted state.

He also thought it might be a great way to increase his stamina, to strengthen his protective spell to last longer.

The path they walked was safer and closer. Through that path they could make it back to the academy in just two hours. No one noticed the path at the beginning because they were told to go straight through the Forest of Darkness.

"Gee! I finally got to my room." Kashel laid himself on his bed. He had not taken a shower at the time, he was so exhausted that he went straight to the room. That time the clock shows at two o'clock fifteen in the morning.

Kashel suddenly fell asleep afterwards, the protective spell he activated and the impact of the clashing of the Spirit of Darkness in his protective spell completely drained his stamina.

Actually if Kashel was in a good mood at the time, maybe Kashel would not be tired like now. Considering everyone was just fake friends to Kashel it really made his heart ache, and made his heart become weak and his existence realized by the Dark Spirits.

Not to mention his heartbreak in a girl he loved. Kashel was in a really weak heart right now.

The next day ...

"Hoam! Oh my God I'm still sleepy, how can we who drained last night still be told to school today." Murmured Kashel spoke to himself down the hallway of his class, he still desperately wanted to sleep.

What I should behave like later, my feelings are really messed up right now. Kashel made his heart ache, but he tried hard and wanted to behave as usual. Thinking about how he behaved in class especially meeting the girl who had already cut ties with him.

Due to Kashel's unkind mood, Kashel's existence could be disturbed by the Guardian Spirit even though his inner eyes were not open.

Kashel's squadmate who did not pass turned out to have a personal grudge against Kashel.

They knew that Kashel had a weakness now and wanted to prank him, but Kashel, who knew he was weak, activated his protective spell from the start.

He could no longer trust his classmates, and sure enough when he was in front of the class he was already surrounded by his squad mates who wanted to make calculations with him because only Kashel managed to pass the test of tracking the magic energy in the Dark Forest in the between the five of them.
