The Demon Swordsman 2

The Demon Swordsman 2
Ch. 61 - The Figure Behind the Darkness

"How long do we have until his soul is completely extinguished?" xin Chen asked unwilling to hear the fox's opinion, unable to win this debate eventually the Lightning Fox relented.

"Two hours, you have to master the Death Rhythm within two hours. I'm not sure you can do it, if you can it might not be perfect and it'll make things worse."

Clearly the Lightning Fox was then, but behind it Xin Chen's idea was somewhat reasonable as well. He was sure Xin Chen's goal was to extinguish the souls of the spirits that possessed Wei Feng. But it was not easy to do, it would wrongly kill Wei Feng himself later.

"We have to try it first, if indeed my guess is not missed maybe the problem of the emergence of evil spirits lately has a solution with this Death Rhythm."

"As far as you go."

Xin Chen recalled that while on the way he had seen bamboo growing around this, not so far from where they were standing he had been able to get it easily.

But the bamboo itself still had such powerful spirit power, as the land it grew up in was also affected by the evil spiritual power.

Xin Chen cut it off and hollowed it in several pieces until it finally formed a flute, before practicing the Deathly Rhythm Xin Chen stared at the Lightning Fox for a bit.

"May I ask for help?"

The Lightning Fox looked at him suspiciously, surely this Xin Chen request would trouble him again.

"What?"

"Can you clear this dangerous demon in the woods? They were possessed by spirits, possibly endangering the lives of the villagers across."

"Just do it yourself" replied the lazy Lightning Fox. Xin Chen gave a small peck and immediately chattered again. "If you don't just study this Deathly Rhythm let me clear the silhouette."

"You crazy? Since when do demons play such an inflatable musical instrument? You're sure you didn't hit your head in the fight until you couldn't think clearly?"

"That's why I'm asking you," he responded quickly. Indeed in terms of arguing Xin Chen was somewhat shrewd, how many times had he had to succumb to the little boy.

The lightning fox did not say much more, he immediately went through the forest alone. It seemed that ever since meeting the Black Dragon, the Lightning Fox had been feeling a little annoyed about something or that it was just Xin Chen's feeling alone.

Regarding the Black Dragon earlier also Xin Chen did not really understand why only this time he found such a sized dragon demon, in the White Mist Valley sect itself the Dragon was said to be a form of power. In this world Dragons are the strongest creatures besides demons.

Compared to that which Xin Chen knew only in this world were gigantic sized dragons which they dubbed as the Earth Ruler Demon. Not surprisingly, the strongest demon was a Dragon and there were still other dragons that became Earth Ruler Demons as well. Their whereabouts were still unknown, the ten Earth Ruler Demon alone were known to only a handful.

"That means... There could be more dragons living in this world. And that Black Dragon earlier, it would make sense if he was the son of the Earth Ruler Demon dragon."

Feeling his mind start to mess up Xin Chen shifted his focus to another place, he turned his head towards Wei Feng for a moment. Not sure Death Rhythm will really work or even aggravate the situation as the Lightning Fox said. All this time Xin Chen had only followed her instincts of thinking. Whether it was true or not he never thought about it twice.

While concentrating on studying the Deathly Rhythm quickly, Xin Chen was startled by the surprise attack by the pack of wolves, the ferocious beast that had been watching Xin Chen with its mouth filled with saliva came back. They're too hungry.

"Grooaahh!!!"

The burst of flames from the Black Dragon arrived as Xin Chen was in a cornered situation, the wolf that surrounded him did not immediately run. They barked at the other herd until finally their numbers increased, Xin Chen never expected the situation to be this bad.

Besides he was a little worried about that Black Dragon, he came back with a deep scar on his neck and again an arrow stuck between his spine. Making the dragon move unbalanced, maybe because that's why this herd of wolves feel like they will win if they face it together.

"Hi man, are you back again?" little Xin Chen asked. "Well, for this time I owe you my life."

The Black Dragon was unwilling to budge, although Xin Chen told him to retreat he still insisted on defeating all of these wolves. The fight was inevitable, the Black Dragon and Xin Chen were fighting compactly. One by one the ferocious wolves were injured, some still had time to harm Xin Chen's skin.

The Black Dragon bit a wolf, passing it to Xin Chen who instantly beheaded it mercilessly. "All right! Now we're a team!"

The Black Dragon roar rang out afterwards, this fight was more like a child's play in the eyes of the Lightning Fox who was now watching them on top of the tallest tree branch. Taking a deep breath could not think of what was happening before his eyes.

"It seems like these two stubborn creatures are hard to separate," he grumbled. "The dragon... Where'd he show up?"

The Lightning Fox left the place temporarily, at least she felt there was no need to unsettle Xin Chen at this moment. Already more than twenty demons found him on the way.

Their corpses were piled up in one place, while busy searching for where these demons had fled to, the Lightning Fox was struck by an unusual force.

A black spirit clouded the figure behind the smoke, making the person inside well hidden.

"Xin Fai, you are..." The Lightning Fox reflexively followed the direction of the figure's flight until he left the forest. No trace or anything.

"No, that wasn't him... Another person who can control spirits?"

The Lightning Fox raised its head for a while, "It seems that this matter has already spread to even more bigger problems."

*

The melodious chirping of birds stopped as Xin Chen tried to blow his flute, the Black Dragon lowered its ears. It seemed that he also understood the noise was too discordant to listen to.

Indirectly Xin Chen was offended, to be honest he had never learned to play a musical instrument like this.

Only with a few clues made by the grandfather and made very, very simple until difficult to understand.

Hundreds of times trying to get out of breath Xin Chen showed absolutely no progress in his training.

Time rolled as fast as lightning, without realizing it now he had spent an hour and a half studying the book and still did not find the right rhythm. "It doesn't make any sense anymore, where anyone can learn to blow this flute quickly" he grumbled as he scratched his ear, worried that the Lightning Fox had already finished its task first and saw Xin Chen sitting fruitlessly here.
