Ch. 194 - Mysterious Figure
"Zhan'er!" ren Yuan's shout shocked the people in the house, his footsteps rushing through the street in haste. Ren Yuan rushed towards Xin Zhan while crying. The only thing he had, came home without a life. Which mother's heart isn't broken by it. Everyone can feel the same hurt, nobody wants to talk anymore.
Ren Yuan folded the sleeves of his robe, telling them to lay Xin Zhan in a room that was presumably spacious. He and the drug expert were trying to bring Xin Zhan's life back, with whatever it was. Two hours of work still no progress, Ren Yuan again dropped tears when he saw his son never open his eyes. All the most effective techniques and drugs have been deployed but none of them have produced results.
Xin Xia who had just heard this news was immediately delivered at the place where Xin Zhan's room was being treated, her shoulders instantly fell as she found Ren Yuan hugging Xin Zhan's long-cold body. The same was the case with the introductory Xin Zhan who also felt sorrow upon hearing Ren Yuan's cry.
"He can't be saved." The last words of the medicine man were like daggers that struck the hearts of everyone who was there. Ren Yuan did not deny that at all, Xin Zhan's body had long lost its pulse. Perhaps around midnight or so, no one could explain how Xin Zhan came home and the news of the 50 soldiers he was carrying. It was still a mystery to the people of Fanlu City.
The news of Xin Zhan's return made the biggest sad news for the residents of Fanlu City, the normally bustling and colorful port city turning quiet. Many came to Ren Yuan's residence even though the guards would not allow them to enter. More than that, they were actually just curious as to what had befallen Xin Zhan. The news of the bird spread so quickly to other villages. No one can describe what happened. Half a day passed but the healers still did not find a bright spot.
Many had given up, there was nothing they could do to Xin Zhan's body. But Ren Yuan persisted and said they had to wait, even if Xin Zhan's body had been shrouded in maggots, the woman still believed her son would still be alive.
Xin Xia was also lost in the woman's grief, there was nothing she could do to Ren Yuan to explain that Xin Zhan would not be saved. Even until nightfall, Xin Zhan's body had hardened. People returned to their respective places, hoping that Ren Yuan would approve Xin Zhan's funeral in honor of his services all along.
Ren Yuan was still concocting herbal ingredients, opening up the treatment books that even other Imperial medicinal experts had made for the sake of a potion, the night came suddenly that night. But Ren Yuan did not care much about what was around him. The windows and blinds move violently in the wind, causing noise that is very noisy in the ears. Not a single citizen came out on that late night, not even a deliveryman.
The waves in the ocean rose in an unusual way, that night the seaboard only two men who were about forty years old, had just removed their catch from the boat. Not enough because the weather has been bad. Luckily today luck sided with them, neither rain nor storm occurred. However, the luck seemed to disappear when it turned out that a huge storm was following them towards the mainland.
One man fell when lightning struck the sea water, its dazzling light as piercing both of his eyes. His friend had run away. Not even a little glance. The reason why the citizens of Fanlu city were so afraid of the black storm was because it was not a hundred more lives that he had taken. Almost every soldier sent there will never return, even a thousand soldiers will be deployed, a thousand lives will disappear afterwards.
What scared him even more was the presence of a figure that was almost fused with the air, the man could hear his breath even though it was like a ghost. Blue eyes glowed in the middle of the night-killing darkness. He could no longer catch his breath, all of his consciousness had been removed by the so-called fear.
And within seconds he died.
The streets of Fanlu Town decorated with lanterns and small candles make it look like a colorful city. The City Guards on guard no longer appeared themselves, they were exhausted all day working. More recently there are too many things that require them to work harder.
Some of the soldiers sleeping on top of the city fortress were awakened by a sudden storm that flew some wood and also spears, making a commotion sound in the houses of the citizens. When they woke up, they realized that the black storm had reached Fanlu City. The thing that people fear most in this place. A myth that even if said carelessly is said to invite distress.
A shocking incident occurred shortly after, the lighting throughout Fanlu City was extinguished. Candles and lanterns died, mysterious winds swept through the main street of Fanlu city. No one could explain the strange event, they were too afraid to guess. That a great disaster had entered the gates of Fanlu City.
The leader of the Fighters woke up the other members, told them to get ready for everything that might happen, this phenomenon can not be considered as something ordinary. They formed a line in the city streets, which became the border between the houses and the port. The moon has disappeared covered with thick clouds, there is no rain at all in that place even once the clouds are as black as charcoal.
The chiefs of the anticipation fighters, defending the city is their duty. In addition, the soldiers roamed around the city streets while carrying swords in their hands. The tension was clearly visible on their faces, no one wanted to make a sound and even a cough was forced to endure in order to hear suspicious movements around them.
Sure enough, with the ferocious storm that came someone had come to visit Renwu City, his entire body was covered in a large black robe that was long until it swept through the streets. His footsteps were light, no one could see his face in the middle of that pitch-black city. But one thing they believe in, is that the man has killer powers that are far more deadly than anyone.
