The Demon Swordsman 2

The Demon Swordsman 2
Ch. 316 - Recruitment

Ye Long bit the eel while staring at them in confusion, even more so at the biggest male among them. He seemed to want to go berserk but tried to hold it until both of his ears were almost smoky.

"Tell me who's keeping this ugly dragon?"

Ye long frowned in annoyance. "Who are you saying ugly?"

"Your name is Xin Chen, isn't it? Mind if I don't make this dragon dinner?"

"Just be up to you."

Ye Long did not understand the situation that was happening, which would be in the next second Huo Rong chased after him so fast that it made his heart feel like it wanted to escape.

Without feeling that time was passing so quickly, Huo Rong did not allow Xin Chen to just leave. Because according to him the Qing Empire was a dangerous place especially for newcomers like him. Xin Chen couldn't possibly how this system in the Empire worked, moreover the close surveillance around here was likely to get him caught and put to death without any consideration. The story is different if he is in this place, the island is very avoidable and jrang in visited by anyone.

So to that end, while this Xin Chen had only heard how Huo Rong explained the Qing Empire.

"You came here to infiltrate, didn't you?" Huo Rong was not that interested in the food Shui offered. It seemed that the water dragon was carrying a lot of supplies from the Valley of the Gods.

"Did you also bring this fool to the infiltration mission?" He pointed at Shui who was eating his food while laying down on the wet grass. The designated person is offended. "If I were stupid maybe I wouldn't have come back here after the guard's arrest."

"All right, lucky fool." Huo Rong was correcting, causing Shui to throw her directly with an apple that was still bitten in half. "Bad!"

"No, I'll just go there alone."

"You have no identity as the people of the Qing Empire. You told me before, didn't you underestimate the guard here?"

"I intend to buy it from the city guards. Maybe with a little money they'll do it."

"Money won't be able to bribe stubborn guards like them. You know, their lives are worth more than the money you're offering."

Huo Rong sighed, "I guess you didn't prepare yourself in the first place."

Huo Rong's voice sounded desperate. He threw away a distant glance, worried because of this Xin Chen would actually be detained in the Qing Empire. That way he would not be able to achieve his goal of uniting the three empires.

It was already night time back, Huo Rong and Shui chose to sleep. It was so late that night but Shui woke up and found Xin Chen at his side.

Shui was still gathering awareness, only a single word he heard from Xin Chen was to leave. He nagged in agreement and went back to sleep. And only realized the next day Xin Chen had disappeared and Huo Rong was rampaging fiercely at him. Fortunately that time, Shui was able to persuade her to return to the Valley of the Gods.

**

At some borders stood a tightly protected area, Xin Chen watched from afar while looking at how the homeless man who had no family was killed in a merciless place. They are cold-hearted and iron-armed. None of the visitors who dare to look at the bum and choose to pass by. They already consider it as a normal thing.

Of course Xin Chen wasn't that stupid to cross the front road. Though the place he entered was a not so big countryside. Most of the people are just gardening and farming, although the situation outside the village is very scary but the situation in the village is arguably peaceful. Xin Chen could see them exchanging greetings and most of the children draped around him while showing off their toys.

But the peace was instantly destroyed when a horde of horsemen came. They were wearing full battle armor with head coverings. The moment they came, the village chief immediately greeted and kowtowed in front of his horse.

"Sorry, Milord. We've given up all the boys from this village. Only the children's parents left"

His words came to a halt as the foot of the horse stepped on his head, the general as if he did not care what he said. His narrowed eyes watched every row of houses, he spurred his horse into the middle and purposely stomped on the body of the village chief. Followed by his subordinates at the back, they made one village that was originally crowded turn silent. No one dared to raise their face.

"We received orders to gather as many as two hundred thousand more soldiers! This village should contribute at least twenty more people, from any clan! There is no rebuttal! Or in the near future your wife's house and children are burned in place!" His thunderous shout was enough to scare people. The village chief who had been prostrating trembled voiced resignedly.

"Good, Sir. I try to ..."

"Retreat!" When the general withdrew his army and left, they were noisy. No one wants to give up their child, but on the other hand they have no choice. In the village there were only a few people left. The village chief stood with a face dirty by the ground, he looked at his people with guilty eyes. His eyes looked red, unable to face them how.

"Is anyone willing to go down to the battlefield? You will die with honor if you follow them. Even if you have to leave your beloved family ..."

Some of them helped the fifty-year-old man wake up, they looked apprehensive. As a newcomer Xin Chen had yet to take any action. He also actually did not want to complicate the affairs of the village chief who looked so anxious.

At first no one wanted to show up, but finally one head of the family raised his hand. "I feel I have to protect my wife and daughters. I also want to see how my son who has been with them first ..."

At least with the willingness of the man, there are some other men who say willing. The youngest among them was an eighteen-year-old. Now it has gathered eighteen people in the middle of the village, from the young to the adult higga. The village chief began to worry because it seems they no longer have men in this village. Eighteen of them included themselves.

"Is anyone still ready?" They shared their views, no more heads of families, young boys or adults left.

Until finally there was a commotion from one house.
