Ch. 117 - Depth of Sea III
The airwaves rose upward more and more, signaling the temperature down there to be higher than before. Xin Chen immediately swam over, he knew that sooner or later he would soon be fighting against the terrifying Electric Eel.
The huge waves caused by the underwater monster forced Xin Chen to retreat, he insisted on advancing while setting up a lightning shield. In this situation it seemed like the fire element he possessed was completely useless, though, because if Xin Chen used that power then the temperature around him would become even higher and it could actually injure himself.
The Electric Eels noticed the movement above them and instantly swam in all directions, scattering to various sides in order to hide while some of them chose to attack Xin Chen. Electric Eels each have a different body size, depending on their age. The older the strength and endurance of the Electric Eel body becomes more powerful.
Xin Chen was trying to catch these Electric eels only that they were too slippery and nimble, and also their swimming speed was not like an eel in general.
Feeling that capturing them with his bare hands would be useless Xin Chen turned to see more clearly the Underwater Monster, it seemed that he was much stronger than the Electric Eel King, its thick skin was protected by some kind of hard rock and was hard to break through if it only used a sword. And compared to all of that, the five heads of the Eels made Xin Chen horrified himself.
"Eve man... No. gabe... The Earth Ruler Demon...?" The sound was faintly heard very slowly, the tone of speech that appeared to be drowned was covered by the sound of rock friction covering the monster's body. He came out of his nest and when his body was completely free, the Electric Eels sped up quickly in order to hide themselves when the ruler of the underwater world rose up.
"You're a Devil...?"
Xin Chen furrowed both of his brows confusedly on the spot and while remaining vigilant with all movements. Being aware that this underwater monster was no longer his match Xin Chen took out two heavenly heirlooms from his spatial ring, namely the Steel Phoenix Sword and the Blood Ghost Mask. But one unfortunate thing if he fought in the depths of the sea was the air supply. This is especially dangerous if he is constantly deprived of oxygen.
The monster waved its tail until it hit the rocks high on the seabed, making the ruins fall over to Xin Chen. In the blink of Xin Chen's eyes disappearing, he was nowhere to be seen, the monster scanning the surroundings quickly.
While being in spirit mode not so long ago there was a movement on his left, Xin Chen swam quickly to catch up to an Electric Eel. His current goal was not to kill that underwater monster but rather to gather directly into the twenty Electric Eels and return alive from this terrifying sea.
This lightning monster business would be asked of the Lightning Fox or the Electric Eel King. Xin Chen did not want to challenge death to fight against that power far above him, after all fighting in the water was not his skill.
Chasing after the Electric Eel whose swimming speed was far above Xin Chen took quite a long time until the power of the Blood Ghost Mask reached the time limit. Xin Chen was again seen by the monster but he did not care and focused on pursuing his target.
But the Eel Monster did not let Xin Chen move alone, with those five heads he could look in ten different directions at once. The five pairs of eyes were observing from a distance sharply towards Xin Chen.
Then the Eel Monster opened its mouth wide until a bright lightning force mixed with blueness gathered in front of him.
Xin Chen realized he would not be safe, his hands a little longer able to reach the one Electric Eel that swam away from him. The moment Xin Chen managed to reach the Electric Eel ferociously and bite his hand was extremely strong.
At this situation Xin Chen realized one thing, he was currently hunting Electric Eels while himself was being hunted by underwater monsters. The monster unleashed a bolt of lightning with an electrical force that was three times the power of the Electric Eel King. The bright light made Xin Chen unable to see anything, he immediately changed into spirit mode and just then the monster's lightning balls flashed through his body.
The ball of lightning hit the rocks, producing a huge explosion sound and waves high above the surface. Xin Chen gulped roughly. Seeing his hand now had shed so much blood from the bite earlier and he began to run out of breath. So far, he has only collected one Electric Eel.
'Am I going to be okay in this sea?' such a thought flashed across Xin Chen's head, he began to question the safety of his life here. In order to be sure that he survived Xin Chen protecting his body with a lightning shield, another two seconds of his body would be visible to the monster and it would take him five seconds to return using the power of the Blood Ghost Mask. During those five seconds he had to endure and also catch an Electric Eel.
While he was in spirit mode, Xin Chen had to use that momentum to search for air supply and also find the hiding place of the Electric Eel. Only this way could he think of in order to complete his task.
Eel Monster that basically has sharp vision managed to find its existence, as before the monster created a ball of lightning back but different from before the duration of the monster created the ball of lightning to be faster.
Xin Chen hurriedly moved into the caves as a hiding place, he could breathe a sigh of relief for a while because in the cave the air bubbles are confined to the sky wall of the cave so that he can breathe freely.
Meanwhile, the Eel Monster unleashed its attack and destroyed the entire cave where Xin Chen was hiding until it was severely damaged. It was fortunate that he had returned to spirit mode and the attack did not hit his body.
Ten seconds back on, Xin Chen caught a glimpse of the monster again searching for its existence. This opportunity he used to search for the existence of Electric Eels. Twenty meters ahead he found at least three Electric Eels swimming slowly.
Xin Chen immediately created the Lightning Arrow with three arrows at once, in order to ensure that his shot did not miss Xin Chen looking for a rock foothold.
After preparing as best as possible Xin Chen slowly aimed at the three Electric Eels, the three of them swam not so far away. At least if he couldn't get three, Xin Chen had to get two.
One more second before Xin Chen released his shot the monster behind him went into a huge rampage, the rampage made a powerful wave current until Xin Chen held back his hand in the belief that the arrow would definitely miss if he were to loose.
Just a few seconds left before the spirit mode again disappeared, Xin Chen should be able to take advantage of this opportunity to obtain three Electric Eels.
But the Eel with five heads did not want to stay still and still continued to rage, Xin Chen chipped in annoyance. He turned his body back and fired a lightning arrow towards it.
