The Demon Swordsman 2

The Demon Swordsman 2
Ch. 224 - The Pillar of the Destruction

Shui got up from his seat, while Xin Chen put away Bai Huang's hand. Not bothered at all with the man's attitude. Bai Huang's wife immediately left while bringing her two children inside, not daring to interfere in her husband's affairs.

Bai Huang's eyes locked onto Xin Chen. "What's your purpose here?"

"Take you back down to the battlefield. To fight for this empire again."

Bai Huang laughed sinisterly, on the other hand hurt by his past as Number Three. "Whatdidyou say? You must be an imperial man, right? Now, when things start to go awry, you're begging me? As I fought desperately for this land, what did you guys do, huh?! Trusting the incitement of another pillar and dropping my pride ..." Bai Huang growled, both of his hands clenched tightly.

"You throw away those who are loyal to this empire and enter those sycophants, you will be destroyed. Remember my vows in front of the statue of the ten pillars!"

The anger of Bai Huang did not dampen the item in the slightest, he wanted to rebuke even more but Xin Chen's unperturbed face troubled his heart.

"Why did you come here?"

Xin Chen took off his headgear, opened his eyes and that second made Bai Huang surprised to no avail. He certainly knew who the young man was, the same face as the legendary swordsman was a face he would never forget in a lifetime.

"You-you?"

"Unfortunately the nine pillar statues have already lost their heads. I thought it would be good if the person was directly beheaded. Didn't you?"

"Young Master Xin second-!" Bai Huang's heart raced fast, he dropped both knees and was at a mercy. Didn't expect to be approached like this. His eyes did not look wrong, there was no way Bai Huang could have wronged anyone.

Given his treatment of Xin Chen, Bai Huang was eager to burn his face. "I'm sorry!"

"Well, now you're panicking. I wonder why everyone who came to see me would be surprised. I'm not some kind of biting ghost, what do you have to fear?"

"I just ..." Bai Huang was at a loss for words, he preferred to look at Xin Chen's likeness. "Your eyes, why can it be so, Young Master?"

Xin Cheen touched his eyes, "I am a part of many things." He smiled, "We came here to take you to war again. Not to others, but to fight for ourselves."

Shui. "There are only two options, being a farmer forever and seeing someone else get killed, or fighting to protect them all."

Bai Huang looked unconvinced. "I've given up. The desire to protect the people here has long been a deep rush. Ever since I was humiliated by that lickhead Emperor."

"What did they do to you?"

Bai Huang's head shook his head weakly, his eyes filled with deep wounds. Being a part of the Imperial Pillar was an honor and a ruin for him. "You don't want to hear it."

"Tell me, no one will punish you. I will finish them off by my own law" Xin Chen said seriously. Bai Huang looked deeply into those blue eyes. So powerful and authoritative, he somehow saw the figure of the Demon Sword inside.

"I have a problem with the Jiang noble family, you know very well they control the politics of this empire so that one member of their family occupies the fifth seat of the Shang Empire."

Bai Huang did not understand, why the family had suddenly attacked him. "One day there was a massive attack on their main residence. Surprisingly no one died but the soldiers. None of their families were killed. There are witnesses who say that they saw my sister who attacked, even though she was not even in Fanlu City."

"Then they got my piece of clothing that somehow got torn up there, I rarely came to that house except for special interests. They further complicate matters, they manage to convince the emperor with the witnesses and evidence available."

"They're really sneaky ..." Shui was amazed himself, the short-sighted side of humans indeed deserves a thumbs up.

"I also thought so, I was sentenced with no one to defend. That person managed to incite the people so that the news circulated was also not much different from what Emperor Qin heard. Though the Emperor knew I had served him decades, abstaining from betraying his trust let alone just to get rid of the fifth Imperial Pillar, it was useless for me."

"Regarding the punishment?" ask Xin Chen.

This time Bai Huang was a bit doubtful, he fell silent. The past held his mind, it was hard to forget all that.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bother you."

"No, Young Master. The punishment, I was paraded with horses around the city, half-naked and my back was inscribed with the word killer using hot metal. Still working today." Bai Huang lifted his clothes and showed the back of his body. The writing, maybe the scars are no longer painful but what Bai Huang feels will never disappear.

"The people don't trust me, I'm too cowardly to defend myself. Had Mr. Xin Fai been here, I always thought so. He always defended me, because I didn't want to lie. I dare cut off the tongue, but no one wants to listen."

Bai Huang ended his story, "There is nothing you can expect from a pillar that has been torn down. I've been made crushed inside out. Sorry, I didn't follow you. There is a family I have to take care of here. Again, sorry, my lord." Bai Huang kowtowed, sticking his forehead on the floor solemnly.

Xin Chen noticed the poor hero, it was cruel for him to be treated by his own comrade. It was inconceivable how Lan An who was currently standing alone amongst those cunning nobles. Xin Chen started to understand it, this was all too late.

"May your wounds heal. Rest, if you change your mind, go south, Lembaha the Gods have taken over. We will build something that is destroyed in this Empire. Honest people like you deserve respect, don't feel shy."

"Okay, Young Master. You are very generous."

Xin Chen nodded, Bai Huang half ran over to take back the sword he had thrown out of the house. He handed it over with both hands while looking down. "I'm sorry for my treatment."

Xin Chen smiled faintly, looking at the door of the house where Bai Luo peeked at them, "Please educate Bai Luo as you taught the White Fog Valley disciples first. He has a strong will, he's the one we need in the future."

Bai Huang's eyes glazed over, but she tried to cover it up. To Bai Huang her family was everything. She was afraid of losing her son.

But if Xin Chen said so, Bai Huang wanted to see his son someday become the same figure as that young man.

"For sure Young Master. Be careful on the road."
