The Demon Swordsman 2

The Demon Swordsman 2
Ch. 360 - Light is a Lie

Jun Xiaorong was already waiting in a closed room that only himself could enter. At the end of the door Xin Chen appeared, directly walking towards him.

"Sit down."

The two sat facing each other. The pause filled for a few seconds, only a slow knock on the table as well as Jun Xiaorong's sigh filled the room. "I've sacrificed everything I have for Young Master."

The mention then made Xin Chen stunned. Xin Chen raised his face, at that moment he opened his eyes and could clearly see that this Jun Xiaorong was the same person as the mysterious figure in District-18 who had always given him a warning. Rather than asking that call, there were many other questions that were more important to Xin Chen.

"I don't understand why you're warning me."

"Which one?"

Jun Xiaorong finally remembered, he immediately opened his voice. "Watch your step, I'll spy on you and not betray?"

"And why are you defending us?" Not wanting to stall for a long time, Xin Chen immediately let out all the questions that had disturbed his mind. This man named Jun Xiaorong was like Yin and Yang, having two sides at once that were opposite each other. Opponent or friend, the two collided.

"You panic so much you ask so much. Not to worry, my subordinates know how to clear back your Young Master and friends' names in people's eyes. You will not be labelled as intruders."

Soon Xin Chen denied it, "That's not what I wanted to talk about. But why are you doing all this for us?"

"I thought my son told you."

"Your son?" Jun Xiaorong became increasingly convinced that Xin Chen did not even know about him from the very beginning of entering the selection.

"just really. Did the Young Master not communicate with them? I'm wondering which leader can walk alone to protect his subordinates like you. While in the war all the soldiers were in the vanguard to protect their king."

As before, Jun Xiaorong took a deep breath. Seemed frustrated, although on the other hand he could hardly believe this intended figure had a different thought from the average person.

"You may be willing to risk your own life for the sake of an unknown person because you feel it's your responsibility. Even though the Young Master could have turned away from them. Ignore them like other leaders do. Your life is everything. If in a war a leader dies, then all the soldiers will be frightened. Isn't that thinking important?"

"Unfortunately I'm a very difficult person to die."

Jun Xia was pushed silent by that answer. He smiled stiffly, believing that Xin Chen was not lying.

Due to feeling disrespectful Jun Xiaorong introduced himself, "I am Jun Xiaorong. The father of Jun Xiang. The person you raised is one of the members of unit one in the group of the Four Surveillance Units. You know that my son is a spy for the Shang Empire, right?"

Xin Chen certainly remembered how he and Jun Xiang were able to meet. Lao Zi was one of the reasons. They were the ones trusted in the Empire for secret missions. When the Empire had changed from the idealism they held, people seemed to turn around in search of a place that had the same direction and purpose as their wishes. And that was why Jun Xiang followed Xin Chen.

To create a New Era.

Jun Xiaorong explained what Xin Chen already knew. Cannot use power carelessly. Or infiltrate, but at the end Xin Chen did just that and got himself stuck in a deadly situation like that.

"Thank you that I have prepared for all sorts of worst situations so that Young Master remains safe."

"Thank you."

Jun Xiaorong laughed Xin Chen said it straight away. "You have a big purpose, son. My son told me about you with great enthusiasm. It was like when he first saw the stars. It's so bright when night comes." Jun Xiaorong's stiff face started to look smiling, especially when remembering his son.

"In my clan, we believe that if a great leader is born then peace will come. Everyone is happy. Like the first time Emperor Qin was appointed. He is so bright as the sun. He is charismatic and also has great honor."

Jun Xiaorong turned to him, just a little. "However, the light will always fade if the time comes. When he was gone, everyone lost their way. So we felt that the light was a lie. And finally we believe that darkness is true. Like a person born of anger. He believes the breakup is painful. Unlike the figure born from a noble family, they did not know what grief was. They never starve, don't get cold, get a plague or are almost killed by looting."

Jun Xiaorong looked at him. "We saw a dark light that wanted to protect everyone. He kills for justice and defiles his hands for the freedom of all those he does not know. He made us wake up again and immediately moved to follow in his footsteps. We Jun Clan who have lost our identity just want to get up for the sake of walking behind him. That hero is your father, the Demon Sword. The darkness we believe in. And at most we'll be back."

Xin Chen was silent. It seemed that those words made him even more eager to pursue his father's footsteps. He was getting closer to her, and would make sure the figure returned to what he had promised Ren Yuan seven years ago. Jun Xiaorong stopped talking. He had also made a lot of efforts to find out the whereabouts of Xin Fai, but the headquarters where the Demon Sword was hidden were always moving around.

Xin Chen again asked, "Why are you here-you said you've served in the Qing Empire for decades."

"I thought this would happen." Naturally Xin Chen knew very well that the man had high reasoning abilities. He had predicted many things even 30 years before that happened. "Sometimes a person needs to sacrifice for something he or she considers valuable. And I'm here to have my children and grandchildren survive the war that's about to happen."

Jun Xiaorong did not expect the situation he was in right now to be the same as the Demon Sword. And that made him feel proud.

"Now tell me what I can do to help you. I've been preparing for this for thirty years. As a spy, I have the connections, information and other things you need in this Empire."

It was never thought that Jun Xiang would lead him to a man like Jun Xiaorong. Xin Chen smiled meaningfully. Of course he always had big plans that would be disastrous for the Qing Empire.

"I'm sure you'll have trouble doing it."

"Give it all to me, Young Master." Jun Xiaorong took out something from behind his clothes, a dull book that looked precious as it was stored in the folds of silk cloth.

"Young Master definitely needs this. All the things about the spirit power that should have been burned away. We keep a copy. If Young Master would accept this."

Jun Xiaorong knew very well that that was what Xin Chen had needed all along. "How long is the war going to be?"

"One Sunday two more days, Young Master."

"I think it's enough to prepare all the plans and deepen this power."
