The Demon Swordsman 2

The Demon Swordsman 2
Ch. 115 - Depth of Sea

Xin Chen became panicked, the Electric Eel King suddenly just attacked him when it was unthinkable that the demon would attack because it felt like the fight was over. Since then there was no longer any fighting air from the demon, and also from the way he spoke Xin Chen felt that there was no more intention to kill him.

However as usual, everything went out of Xin Chen's control. His body crashed far away and lost its footing while the screams of bats rang out loud tearing the eardrum.

Dozens of fire bats flew straight at him and pulled Xin Chen's clothes with their feet, making him not fall directly into the river but still drag him there. Xin Chen did not understand what was happening and the purpose of the Electric Eel King was to do this all. Seeing himself now surrounded within the enemy's enclosure and there was not a single safest place Xin Chen could only surrender.

The claws belonging to the Fire Bats felt like they were tearing his skin apart, Xin Chen protested in an annoyed tone.

"Hey, hey. You seem to be intent on torturing me, don't you?" His feet kicked the air many times, he could not escape from these bats at all and up there the Electric Eel King was back down by circling the rocks to follow him.

"It's over..." The Electric Eel River was no longer far from him, just waiting for these bats to release themselves then Xin Chen immediately splashed into it. Although only a glimpse of the beast would know, the flow of electricity that appeared above the surface of the river was dangerous. Even after seeing the power of the fire bats in this place, Xin Chen could take into account just how much power one Electric Eel had.

Moreover, those eels were living directly in the water that Xin Chen knew, natural energy was flowing extremely profusely within them. In the Shang Empire itself waterfalls are often used to train endurance. Even in some places the discovery of waterfalls with great natural energy has been built as a place of martial practice. And from this Xin Chen knew very well, injuring one eel or bat in this place was just like scraping metal with a blunt sword. It has no effect at all. Unless he just wants to die.

As his feet were only a few meters away from the river, something jumped up very quickly leaving Xin Chen shocked. He could not clearly see what kind of creature had jumped earlier and guessed for sure it was an Electric Eel that was twice the size of his body he had ever seen. Although it was only a moment but Xin Chen could see this Electric Eel was very different. They have a slightly bluish color and are brighter as if shone by light.

'Don't tell me they've reached a hundred years?' inwardly in the heart, to his knowledge such a form of change will only be possessed as the age of the demon increases. He was trying to see the bats on it, they had a reddish complexion.

'Their skin should be that thick... If only one I can still fight, but their number...' Xin Chen felt like crying over his fate. Soon he'll be bait for the Electric Eels.

But the thing he imagined never happened, Xin Chen re-opened his eyes and realized these bats brought him to a dry place. He was lowered across the river where the Electric Eel King was already waiting for him.

"Well... You shouldn't have seriously killed me at the fight." Suddenly the Electric Eel King complained, then he again said. "Actually the fight was just a test of whether you deserved pure lightning power or not."

"Ah... I see, you didn't tell. Besides how could I let myself get hit by such a big ball of lightning."

"Currently, you held it and pushed it into my mouth. I wonder if all the people out there are as crazy as you or you're just so stupid."

As Xin Chen was preoccupied with his own thoughts the Electric Eel King voiced out, like giving an omen to the Electric Eels in the river. Then face Xin Chen.

"As the second test, you must capture at least twenty Electric Eels from this river and bring them out. It's simple."

Xin Chen narrowed his eyes suspiciously, it would certainly not be that easy to see his fight with the Electric Eel King alone he was already desperately fighting back. "Capture twenty?" He turned around to be able to see the river where the Electric Eels were nesting. His mouth immediately cursed, "Well, right! These Electric Eels are disappearing. I've guessed."

"No, they didn't disappear. You just need to dive into that river to catch them."

"Dive? Isn't it just a river? Looks shallow..." Xin Chen approached the river, just his estimation. Because it is usually a river like this only has a little depth. To confirm his conjecture Xin Chen took out a stone that was the size of his hand and threw it into the water. One second, up to the tenth second there was no sound of the stone hitting the bottom of the river.

Xin Chen was sure that he could hear the sound clearly but could not hear anything other than the sound of the water currents, thirty seconds passed and had no idea how deep the river was, finally Xin Chen decided to plunge his face in there.

But just as he was about to see the contents within the river one of the electric eels jumped up and slapped his face with his rather sharp tail, Xin Chen retreated while holding his cheeks in annoyance.

"That's right... I don't know how deep the river is and you're saying I should collect twenty?"

"Yes, isn't it easy? You've even made me almost wretched. Catching them is not difficult anymore. And also if you manage to collect them you can use them to increase your internal energy."

Xin Chen looked at the Electric Eel King and the river in turn, feeling that something was wrong with the Electric Eel's nest.

The Electric Eel King realized Xin Chen's attitude and finally explained, "The river you see is not entirely like an ordinary river. Behind this mountain we live in, do you see the high seas? This river you see is connected to the sea. That means you have to dive into the depths of the ocean to collect the twenty electric Eels I mean. Understood?"

Xin Chen opened his mouth wide, barely cussing.

"Haaaahh?"
