Xin Chen wasn't quite sure if Yuhao's strength was what he expected. It is difficult to guess and consider what will happen next. As far as Xin Chen was concerned the woman had two types of attacks that were equally deadly, long and close range. It has hardly any gaps.
He was able to disappear without Yuhao's knowledge earlier because of the Blood Ghost Mask. His strength was different from ordinary spirit power and higher so it was difficult to recognize with spirit eyes even once. Perhaps Yuhao still did not know about the heirloom. And this was a good opportunity, Xin Chen was able to attack him secretly.
But Yuhao also had incredible reflexes. One second to return to his original body, within that one second Yuhao was able to fend off any attacks he launched.
Another type of attack sprung up, this time Yuhao actually exerted all his strength.
"You know I've prepared everything for today!"
The wilderness turned into a pitch-black night without a single speck of light. Xin Chen circled the place where Yuhao was. Using the form of the Blood Ghost Mask for only ten seconds, he could not waste the opportunity to attack the opponent.
Chewing a black hand pulling Yuhao's body, the woman fled as usual but the ground in her place was enveloped by the strength of another spirit. Thousands of black hands appeared on the ground, in the middle of the dark of the night the moon was originally round into eyeballs that continued to look down. It was as if it was lurking Yuhao deeply.
The woman trembled slightly, she broke through another path away from the impact of Xin Chen's strength. Smiling wryly, for him such an attack was still easily avoided as long as he did not see those eyes. And also the hands of those spirits, only with the Exterminator Spell would instantly disappear without a remnant.
While Xin Chen himself still did not know Yuhao's weakness, the woman moved quickly. Not letting him read the techniques he had. Yuhao was like he was above the clouds when he saw that the young man had a hard time following his agile movements. While the growing number of spells in this place would soon kill Xin Chen. He won't be able to withstand such intense pressure. Even if he could, Xin Chen would have to risk all the spirit power he had to protect his spirit body.
"When I look at you to be honest I think of my long-dead disciple, Zhang Ziyi. He died of his own greed. Had he taken the right path that day, even if he died, I could still bury his body."
Implied by the sadness in those two aging eyes, Yuhao's long, knee-length white hair moved as strong winds blew it away. The woman was not grounded on the ground but floating in the air, her tears had long since the death of her daughter.
"Every day I want to kill you. But ... I thought I was your mother. It also hurts. Losing a son who was guarded by risking his life. You're a really selfless kid." Yuhao looked at Xin Chen meaningfully. "You think leaving your family is a great move? As a mother I would not be able to accept that treatment. You act like you're dead, you've lost your way, constantly wanting strength. What happens if your mother knows the truth?"
"Stop affecting me." The answer came out in a cold tone.
"Stop influencing me?" Yuhao half-in disbelief Xin Chen actually thought so. "I found out about you a long time ago, everything you did and where you were. When I heard the story about your mother, the feeling of wanting to kill me disappeared. Apologize to him. Or when he's gone, you'll regret it."
"Behind yourself. You threw away your disciple Lan Zhuxian, leaving him alone without anyone. Family or relatives. He chased you and almost died on people's land."
Now that Yuhao was speechless, he growled from being at a loss for words. His clenched hand was raised upwards. "I don't think there's anything else I need to talk to you about."
If caught alone, Xin Chen was confident that the woman's fingernails could drain the curse into her body. There are so many unique spells that endanger it. All of this was meant for deadly attacks.
Yuhao licked the red-colored paper in his hand, developing a terrifying grin. Before Xin Chen had time to dodge, yet again a foreign movement sounded around him.
It does not sound like the sound of footsteps or so on, but clearly the sound is approaching and getting closer. His movements that had stopped ended badly, his body was unable to move and now he only realized a large spider web locked his legs and hands. Whether it came from where the spirit spider was, Xin Chen did not pay much attention around as it was busy dodging Yuhao's attacks.
Back as in the beginning, he couldn't control his body. Yuhao's giggling voice buzzed in his ears.
"Will you give up? Let me tell you, as a senior spirit user ..." Yuhao's voice shrank, more like a whisper. "I've been using this body for twenty years. The ins and outs and everything, there's nothing I don't know. Including all the moves in the Book of Spirit Controllers."
The woman continued. "What doesn't the Book of Spirit Controllers have?" Yuhao gave a pause for the sake of being able to see that face up close once again. "humanity. The longer you are with the body of the book, the more you lose your sanity as a human being. In any fight, when you can't control yourself and just fight like an animal, you lose. I'm telling you, you never deserve to be the successor to the second Demon Sword."
Yuhao's last words sounded so piercing, Xin Chen showed no reaction. But clearly the look on his face changed, Yuhao slightly pulled an eyebrow. "It turns out you still have emotions, too?"
Xin Chen painstakingly retook his consciousness, he was finally able to speak despite faltering.
"You kept telling me. Took my mom and dad. Not acquaintances, not even brothers. Talk as if you know everything. You think that's gonna make me weak?"
"You've lost since the beginning of the fight. Don't tell me you're not aware of your own position?"
Slowly Xin Chen's face lifted, her gaze drawing out right into Yuhao's eyeballs.
"I won't lose to you."
"Hm? Want me to be clear again? You are out of balance with me, weak spirit user. All this time you've survived your own death."
Yuhao's wiggly fingers began to pierce through Xin Chen's neck, an unusual force shrouding the huge tree where Xin Chen was cornered. He glared at Yuhao with enduring the excruciating pain.
Yuhao said as a farewell sign. "Unfortunately your luck is over."
