"All right! The show's starting! Have fun!" the man shouted while lifting up high the wine jug that was given to him. The crowd began to brutally uncontrollable, not the least of which crossed the boundary designated as a performance arena. They laughed and cheered loudly as if cheering a herd of wolves on to tear their prey apart.
Not to mention the match started, when Xin Chen pulled out the weapon the event leader immediately gave an interruption, making the match standstill for a while. He did not care about the other complaints and scolding, his hand continued to snatch the sword in the young man's hand while nagging.
"Bringing weapons is not allowed. You must defend, not attack." The word was slow and low, sounding denouncing the actions of Xin Chen earlier. Without saying anything else he immediately returned to his place to drink the wine.
"The real match begins!"
The man who was almost killed by the three wolves held his breath when he saw the figure of the young man who saved him earlier was surrounded by ferocious demons from various sides. His eyes widened many times as the wolf's deadly claws almost tore the skin of the human's neck.
He did not care much about his own circumstances, his body was covered in blood and felt very painful as the drops of sea water made his wound even more painful. His eyes were fixed on the corpse of his friend who was now being trampled by wolves, the pain in his heart was burning even more. The man wiped his tears with his left arm, he suddenly cried.
"Man is heartless! At least let go of the young man? Have you really lost your conscience to just understand what it feels like to have your life played out?! Even animals are much more careful than you!"
But his words were drowned by the cheers and the voice said that increasingly enthusiastic, the blood on his head seemed to boil. He clenched his hands tightly and punched the man next to him, leaving the others speechless and revealing angry faces.
"What do you mean?!" furious that the swordsman who had just been in his corner was quite loud, blood flow began to come out from the corner of his lips.
"What do I mean?!" repeating it in a higher voice, he clasped the collar of the opponent's shirt and desperately punched him with a grimace. "You're playing us like we're trash, and it's all making me sick!"
"You think you who would dare to speak like that in front of me, heh?!"
Another battle took place in the audience. It makes people's attention split in two. Xin Chen realized something was going on there and it must have come from the ordinary residents he had been helping.
While all the attention was on the other place, Xin Chen noticed the serigaa eyeballs that had been continuously eyeing him. They were truly like half-dead starving beasts.
As the blue eyeballs opened, the wolves fell silent for quite a long time. Something penetrated their bodies and soon a beautiful rhythm sounded that ran slowly, following the rhythm of the sea breeze on the coast. It was so soothing that the two people who were fighting earlier were stunned by that soft voice.
The sound of the rhythm of death was a clone of the Water Smile taught from the Lotus Temple mainly to appease the spirits. It's just that there are some verses that are altered in such a way and cause fatal errors that are so dangerous if aimed at humans and demons. It extinguishes the living soul.
Slowly but surely, the originally glittering eyes of the three wolves turned blank and hollow. A dark gray color pattern replaced it without anyone noticing. The warriors were quite confused by what the three wolves had just experienced, they were much calmer than before..
But who would have thought in the next second the three wolves were back wild, they were much more aggressive and unstoppable. A high leap dispersed the circle of spectators, some of them fell and were immediately mercilessly torn apart by the beast.
"D-d-d-d-d-d-damn it! What the hell is going on?! Hey save me-!!" His throat felt choked as all his friends ran back and forth leaving him, even though only a few seconds ago they were joking like brothers.
"Please!"
"That guy must have just done something!"
"Shoppers! Just watch if I come down, I'll make sure you cut off those two ears!"
"Oi, oi!" one of them noticed a movement approaching towards them. Three wolves at once, they were getting ready with their respective spears and axes, ready to welcome the big beast's strike.
"Did? Gun eat sir?" said the young man with a caping on the head, at first glance looks concerned about the criminal group. They push each other so they can take shelter from the stealth claw. A moment later his eyes turned to the corpse of a man who was swept by the small waves, blood continued to seep and made a thick red liquid fuse with the clear sea water. Xin Chen raised the body and took it somewhere.
"Lord! Sa-i'm coming!" said someone behind him, he stood with a bruised face here and there. Her eyes turned blue and swollen from the fight, but she easily stood up as if all the pain in her body meant nothing.
"I just wanted to bury him. But if he's your friend, let's come."
Xin Chen stopped as they arrived at a land a little far from the sea, overgrown by lush bamboo groves and also just hearing the sounds of forest beasts all around.
"I don't know what to say to his future wife." Suddenly the man spoke after long silencing his mouth, his heart dissolving with deep sorrow.
"He's my distant cousin, but I consider him like my own younger brother. We didn't expect something like this to happen. Those human-faced beasts, they suddenly dragged us along even when we didn't know what our fault was. There were actually a few of us that they brought, probably gone, too."
"What's your name?"
"My name doesn't matter." Xin Chen could only wait for his interlocutor to make a sound, he seemed unwilling to bury his own cousin's body.
"I just think this endless suffering is just an opening to this tribulation in the Shang Empire." Then his hand tried to scrape the ground, while the dull look of his face looked desperate.
"You're right. People like you are forced to endure this kind of fate."
Xin Chen helped her, "How long will people have to endure the pain until someone manages to save them?"
"Hahahah," the man's laughter sounded weak, it was obvious he was holding back his grief. "I don't think anyone's fighting for it."
Then his reckless eyes turned to Xin Chen, "Could it be you? Hahahah, kidding. Not likely. It's too heavy to be carried by a young man like you. My son was told to train all day until he was sick for days. Sounds silly, really. But what can I do?"
Their conversation stopped. "He's not in the hands of those criminals either."
