ch. 129 - Spirit of Fire Element II
"Destroying the laws of nature you say?"
"The fox sent by the Spirit of the Lightning Element intends to train you the power of the Earth Ruler Demon, right? If that's what he wants, I'm sure the curse will gnaw at him mercilessly. Destroying you two is still my duty, even though it's not my responsibility anymore..." The Spirit of Fire Element stuck out the tip of its staff, a sphere of flames spreading around it on a massive scale. It caused a roar of hot winds so strong that Xin Chen could not even maintain his standing position.
"Heavenly Holy Spirit - Seventh Gate."
A high wall appeared to rise upwards, giving rise to such a powerful rattling sound as well as fragments of rocks eyeing Xin Chen's body which was still surrounded by fire lions, they no longer walked as close as before but directly attacked blindly, like a starving animal that was preying on the only food. They pounced on Xin Chen scrambling until unknowingly, it was precisely the ferocious beast attacking its fellow.
Xin Chen who was quite nimble in terms of evasive barely thin could survive amongst these fire lions, though, for a while he had absolutely no way to pierce through their thick skin that was coated in such a powerful iron armor. If you look carefully, the thickness of the armor can at least make the sword break as sharp as anything while trying to penetrate it.
The steep cliffs created by the Fire Element Spirit stopped making a sound, the more bluish crystal-like rocks exuded a strength equivalent to the ferocious lions he was facing. Xin Chen cursed loudly inwardly, he had already guessed what this would all be like. It was clear that the high cliff was not an inanimate object, seeing that its shape was already unusual, the pieces from the crystal stones moved slowly along with the Fire Element Spirit who controlled them using his staff.
'My subconscious world is ruled by the Fire Element Spirit like him? Although you once said that I will not die here, there is no chance that this Fire Element Spirit has a way to kill me without having to destroy my body?' inwardly, the creaking sound of the lightning sword he used to protect the body began to dissipate. That lightning sword will break for the umpteenth time.
Xin Chen's step back a few meters, he jumped far away so as not to be exposed to the scratches and the libasan of the tail that kept coming. To make sure the situation would not be cornered like before Xin Chen jumped up and down on the lion's head.
"You know why humans don't deserve to have powers like the Earth Rulers? Why didn't the Spirit Elements choose your race to take it?"
The Spirit of Fire Element was silent, he thought Xin Chen quite understood the direction of this conversation and was aware of his position as a weakling
"Physically you are very weak, even too weak. But you have strong feelings. Selfishness, greed, and all other vices. Compared to the demons who kill just because they want to be the strongest, you can kill each other just because of a small piece of food."
The Fire Element Spirit shook his head repeatedly, remembering himself once descending instantly seeing the chaos that had occurred in the past. When famine struck, plague and drought prolonged. His sense of smell became increasingly of seeing them, the original nature of Man that comes out when they are in a situation between life and death.
"You're wrong."
"Hm? Want to defend your clearly weak race? Go ahead, but I don't want to hear anything from you at all."
"Someone could have been beaten to a pulp and broken a bone, just for the sake of a potato. But he did it because his sister was starving waiting for him to bring food." Xin Chen spoke back loudly, "We do anything if we want to protect what we consider valuable. Lives alone, family, or everyone."
"Protecting everyone, hahahaha just like this I also often see. Ah, protect everyone! Such a person does his job half-heartedly, the strongest swordsman like them won't want to take care of trivial things like the story of the potato thief boy you were concerned about earlier. Let alone a second-class robber, protecting everyone you say?"
