The Demon Swordsman 2

The Demon Swordsman 2
Ch. 40 - End of Ghost Village

Not wanting to leave empty-handed Xin Chen then asked another thing.

"Then your friend who was standing guard near the pier said you sent an emissary to our Empire. May I know where they were sent and for what?"

They were hesitant, whether they wanted to answer or not.

Not listening to the reply, Xin Chen went back to speaking "I don't really want to bring your internal organs in there either.." Xin Chen pointed to the various body parts that they had moved earlier. They gulped rough.

"Ba-good Sir... I'll get you the map." The woman stood in a hurry. Xin Chen held it in for a while, somewhat feeling suspicious about her guts.

"Don't run away or have their necks at stake."

The threat made him shudder in horror for the umpteenth time, how could he escape while Xin Chen's eyes continued to watch him from end to end.

Before long he returned carrying a map made of cloth, some places in the Shang Empire had been marked using ink. A place that was likely being searched by the Wei Empire's swordsmen to retrieve the sky heirloom weapon.

Xin Chen accepted it, the women were astonished when they saw the map instantly disappear from Xin Chen's hands. Move to the space ring.

"I gave it two hours to remove the poison fog and leave this place. Soon!"

"Good!"

While waiting for them Xin Chen took out the map again, one of the places marked was the Green Lake that he would come with the Lightning Fox. Of course this was like bad news, it could be that the person they sent had first picked up the piece of Phoenix Steel there. Or even the side from the Valley of the Gods first who had come.

Feeling that there was not much time for Xin Chen to turn his gaze to those people, one of them seemed to be trying to secretly send out a letter. He used pigeons to deliver the letter to their leader in the Wei Empire.

It was clear that Xin Chen did not accept it, before the pigeon flew further Xin Chen had recalled the heirloom he had obtained from the store in the Valley of the Gods. An arrow was ejected from the space ring and aimed at him quickly.

Three arrows almost hit the pigeon but the target dodged nimble. It seems to be a pet that has been trained by its owner. The pigeon flew away and the arrows began to be unable to reach him anymore.

"It looks like you should practice archery first, Chen." The Lightning Fox came and was suddenly already beside him. He guided Xin Chen's hand and pointed it parallel to the pigeon's body.

"Don't hesitate, let go of the arrows."

The lightning power of the fox flowed on the arrow and shot out like lightning, piercing through the pigeon's body. Successfully foiled the plan of the woman he was holding. Xin Chen approached, putting on a lookout.

"I don't intend to kill a woman like you because I asked for her myself." The woman's eyeballs began to move in another direction, looking for a place to escape before Xin Chen killed her.

The Lightning Fox turned from behind. "It is precisely you who are wrong, these cunning doctors who kill the inhabitants of Huobi with their artificial poison."

That reason made Xin Chen's determination even greater, yet having had the time to kill them the Lightning Fox had first used its lightning power and instantly scorched out all the enemies in a single blink of an eye.

This merciless attitude taught Xin Chen a lot, maybe he should choose the bloody path his father used to go through. Forgiving life like that will only add to the burden.

Xin Chen had once seen how his father fought and found it impossible for him to go down such a blood-soaked path believing that Xin Zhan would inherit the name of the second Demon Sword. But the more he came to understand, the reason why he was born was to keep the peace that his father struggled to fight for.

Xin Chen's stomach twirled as his hand held onto the human brain, his disgust peaking when looking behind the pile of meat a bulging eye stared at him. The disembodied head is the corpse of a warrior who has been fighting to defend his home.

"May you all be quiet in nature there."

After making a mass funeral to bury the bodies of the dead population who have died in vain, Xin Chen tidied up a few more things like the origin of the poisonous mist and traced the tents set up by these people from the Wei Empire.

A few hours later the smoke of the fog began to thin along with the moving away of Xin Chen and the Thunder Fox. The ghost village that has been forgotten will probably be a silent witness to the great war that will occur several years later.

I don't know how far they stepped until they finally arrived at a border that is heavily guarded by the people across. It seemed that they objected to letting anyone who had just entered the Ghost Village pass through their area. Afraid at any time they transmit the disease from the village.

When approaching the residents there have shown a face of dislike, as if driving the two to turn around and not bring disaster into where they live. There was a heated debate when Xin Chen wanted to enter the village with a few adults.

"We won't let you in here, you must have brought disease and passed it on to us!" shouted one of the middle-aged men, raising the hoe high in his hand.

"If you don't want to obey, baby. You're gonna feel what it's like to die with my hoe."

"I don't intend to start a ruckus here, let me just pass by. I won't stop by or touch your people, I can hold my word."

"It can't be!" This time the village chief said, the sound echoed loudly throughout the village. "Letting you in is tantamount to scraping the graves of my inhabitants."

"Fuckin' thick!"

"Don't give them a way!"

"Close the gate!"

As time passed, the gate was completely shut. They drive out while cursing. Unable to accept Xin Chen and the Thunder Foxes entering there even a single step.

"Yes already if not allowed to enter, I will force through," Xin Chen responded no matter, he could actually use his father's name to facilitate this affair. But Xin Chen thought he could still handle it in his own way.

Such a thick gate passed by Xin Chen just like that, making the residents glare their eyes wide. Unbelieving in what just happened, the village chief approached. Make sure the gate remains intact and Xin Chen is not a ghost.

"You..."

"What?"

"You're a ghost from Ghost Village!!"

The company of men ran around, entered the house and locked it tightly. Didn't expect today to have an uninvited guest from Ghost Village. Xin Chen stupefied.

"If it wasn't for you guys shutting down this access, the people in Ghost Village would probably have survived before the poison actually killed them." Xin Chen added a little while shaking his head, "It is precisely you who have facilitated their deaths."
