The Demon Swordsman 2

The Demon Swordsman 2
Ch. 23 - The battle

As promised, the Mayor handed over some of the files that Xu Ming had handed over the day before his death. He received the artifact from Xin Chen with pleasure, the instant Xin Chen turned his back for a moment.

"If they ask where the Artifacts are from, just tell me you've killed me. The rest is up to you," he just passed by.

The mayor would certainly not dare to tell the truth to the people from the Silver Pagoda Association, besides they were clearly enemies, the Mayor himself did not want to endanger the lives of his family for that reason.

Xin Chen flipped through the contents of the report inside, appearing on the worn-out paper Xu Ming was expecting the people from the institute to take the matter seriously.

In the most recent letter Xu Ming made it clear emphatically, that lately he had discovered an anti-government area that had been built by the Qing Empire. The area includes two villages at once and is only a few meters from the border.

What is the strangest point is that they work very closely, there is no clarity on how this group can stand very quickly to expand both villages at once.

Then Xu Ming also said in his letter, he met a suspicious figure of a man. As Xu Ming was on a long journey, a village burned to the ground in just a few minutes, no one could explain what happened. Unless there is one person from the village who came out alive without any injuries. He described the figure wearing a robe with an engraving emblem that was exactly the same as the one in Xin Chen's pocket.

"Until here it is clear who is the enemy and where it comes from. Teacher, we should immediately go to Huaxi village, from this dossier Xu Ming said they built his headquarters there."

The Lightning Fox nodded slowly, they immediately continued on their way as quickly as possible.

Although being able to run at high speed the Lightning Fox did not use it for now, he realized Xin Chen's legs were still too short and his mastery in the science of lightening the body was still amateurish. Therefore while on the way he conveyed some breathing techniques to the boy

Xin Chen chuckled, actually he already knew how. By visiting the library in the White Fog Valley every afternoon and practicing hard all day.

It's just that despite working hard Xin Chen was unable to show his best ability, making the distance between his strength and Xin Zhan even more distant.

"You already know that, don't you? Why not try a little harder?" The Lightning Fox cursed, Xin Chen's speed remained unchanged

"Waiting for my feet I can't stop running anymore..."

Rather than replying to the Lightning Fox, Xin Chen instead grumbled to himself.

"It looks like this kid does need some hard training, you know after this you could have been killed by the Swordsman of the Valley of the Gods?"

"Y-yes?" Xin Chen remained unable to focus, his breathing sounding start to fret.

The Lightning Fox rolled its eyeballs lazily, the fox's hand raised upwards creating something with its lightning energy.

"Then run faster or you'll be stung by them."

Xin Chen raised next to his brows, starting to see the Dazed Lightning Fox. Not long after the sound of bees came from behind, when Xin Chen turned his face immediately turned bad.

"What-what-what!? Lightning bees?!" His screams sounded frightened. "Wuahh died me, Dad!!"

The Lightning Fox shook its head again and again, sure enough, with just a slight pressure Xin Chen's running speed increased by at least threefold. The Lightning Foxes balanced the clattering of their feet, catching up to him while gazing at the darkness of the night sky.

He paused for a moment, calling Xin Chen who had already run away from him.

"How do you stop? These bees are after me, Master!" the Xin Chen. One of the bees stung him and as Xin Chen had expected, the sting almost knocked him unconscious.

The Lightning Fox removed the bees and told Xin Chen to rest. The boy walked over with a dashed breath then sat carelessly beside him.

"For unexpected situations, your reflex movements are good" said the Lightning Fox. Xin Chen snorted, glancing to the side.

"I just found out about it now."

"Because all this time your safety is guaranteed?"

"Yes... Both Dad, Mom and Zhan Gege, they always saved me when I was in trouble. Instead I..." His tone turned moody. "I'm just adding weight to them, absolutely can't help at times like this."

Xin Chen's sparkles were fixated in his own hands, whether it had been to how many times he had complained like this to the Lightning Fox.

There was no response, it seemed that the Lightning Fox could understand what she was feeling. Xin Chen admitted that apart from his Mother and Father, only the Lightning Fox was willing to accept his weakness.

But the thought was refuted, Xin Chen was precisely made to be unkemptly shocked when the Thunder Fox instead created various dangerous beasts with its lightning energy.

"Rather than complaining you better use that time to practice!"

Xin Chen shuddered in horror after dodging the tiger attack from the lightning, just one move he would be scorched by it.

"But I've been training hard, from morning till evening. It was no different from Zhan Gege, who distinguished only... Only I don't have the talent to be Dad's successor."

"Then be a loser forever! How many lives have you taken since you left? How many enemies has your father been able to fight, and today you're acting like a toddler."

Xin Chen endured all the attacks from all over with his sword, some stings electrocuting his body mercilessly.

However, compared to the outer wound the words of the Thunder Fox were much more piercing, Xin Chen did not know why it was precisely if the Lightning Fox who said them all these things became painful whips.

"Do I need to demean your father too so that you can be aware?"

Xin Chen's eyes flashed furiously, he looked at the Lightning Fox. "Never bring it, Master. I still respect him a lot."

"Aware of not being aware of your ability like that, it is you who embarrassed him. Even though I'm not sure if it's true or not, but from what people think of you, how do you think you feel when you hear your son being insulted?"

Xin Chen stopped moving until the beast that the Lightning Fox created was free to attack him without a fight back. The boy's body began to wobble but was reluctant to fall.

The Lightning Fox did not know how Xin Chen responded, indeed his words were overstepped but willing to how else. Xin Chen was not supposed to live as he was now, naturally the boy did have to be trained hard to train his strength as well as mentally.

Xin Chen brushed off all the attacks coming towards him, he began to focus on launching a counter-resistance. Without intending to answer the words of the Thunder Fox, from all the words earlier it was indeed only this time that Xin Chen came to a realization. That he was the one who always disappointed his father.
