Ch. 56 - Demon Spirit
Wei Feng did not know how else to answer, the amount of money Gu Long offered sounded tempting. He could live quietly with that money. As long as you can eat well, everything will look easy.
"All right, we'll take it. If you're scared, just go home and hide in the blanket."
"You better keep your words as well if you're in this place" Gu Long said, looking down briefly before leaving them in the forest. Just taking a short breath, Wei Feng was already startled by the figure of a starving wolf. As Gu Long had said earlier, the size of the ferocious beasts here was five times larger than what they would normally find.
Saliva dripping from the gray wolf's fangs, its loose-looking belly clearly showed that the savage beast had not eaten for days.
"Chen, just get on top of the tree before he claws at you!" shouted Wei Feng. He aimed at the wolf from above, but unexpected things appeared. Nimbly the wolf dodged his shot, he was like knowing Wei Feng's intentions above. And in that situation, a wolf came towards them.
"So bad!!" he shouted at Xin Chen. "Hey Sprouts, if you want to die at least do not die silly because of the forest wolves too!"
"How noisy you are, I want to concentrate for a moment!" Xin Chen released his arrows, two shots missed and did not hit the wolf at all. Meanwhile Wei Feng pulled his long bow, aiming at three at once arrows at the same time.
Of the three arrows that hit the wolf only one, even in the thigh. Wei Feng now understood what Xin Chen had said earlier.
Shooting free-moving living things like this is different from shooting an immovable target. For three months he had not hunted living creatures, it made him not accustomed to archery at this time.
"Damn it, where did my archery ability go twelve years ago?! Is it just like this?" wei Feng's grumble was loud, Xin Chen chuckled faintly at the man's unrest. "Something seems to be in trouble, can anyone be helped, dear Lord Wei?" taunted.
Obviously Wei Feng was offended, as he himself was safe on top of the tree. While Xin Chen was mobbed by five wolves at once at a time, the boy twisted his body in all directions as a melee attack came.

Both of them were shocked when one of the wolves managed to get up and escape quickly into the wilderness, he roared until he could be heard all over.
"Comebody! He's calling the others!" Xin Chen started to panic, for a split second the two just stood there miserably. Even the sound of leaves falling to the ground alone could still be heard from being too silent.
Sure enough, behind the forest unexpectedly appeared a great ape carrying a destructive machete in his hand.
"I-this isn't an ape anymore... He was like a half-gorilla man! That face, the ugliest face I've ever seen!"
Wei Feng's words enraged the ape, he smashed the heavy machete into the ground, shaking their footing violently.
"Sir Wei, if you want to mock at least you just yell it all in your heart!" Xin Chen wanted to curse at this Wei Feng again, but since the situation was not possible he could only be patient while watching their enemy on this one.
Wei Feng dodged nimbly but Xin Chen still remained in his original position, unharmed in the slightest when such a large tree trunk hit him.
"The chen?! Run, Sprouts!"
It might have been many years since Wei Feng had never felt this kind of worry, the feeling of fighting fiercely against a great enemy. He used to kill by secretly using his arrows, even when the target was in a state of motionless.
'This monkey will not die with just an arrow, it seems very difficult to pierce through that thick skin of his.' Xin Chen muttered inwardly, he galloped and disappeared in sight. As the ape was trying to find Xin Chen, it raised its body behind the ape's back.
"Electric Arm!"
The electric shock mixed with the heat of the flames radiating across the ape's body, he let out an angry scream and directly slapped Xin Chen's body using his huge hand.
Xin Chen was thrown crashing into a tree, his mouth spewing fresh blood instantly anyway, that one hard blow was quite a pain. Blood flowed slowly from Xin Chen's nose.
One thing Xin Chen had only learned, using the power of the Blood Ghost Mask and the energy changes simultaneously was a very difficult thing to do. As his body was centered on changing the shape of the energy he could not go that fast to transform himself into a spirit form.
Wei Feng was still aiming at where he was standing, a single arrow stuck right in the eyeball to the left of the ape, making a huge roar re-echo. The ape that had turned into a spirit demon approached Wei Feng brutally, the trees were uprooted as he spied on it.
"You're looking to die, huh?"
"THIS MONSTER CAN TALK?!" wei Feng shouted half in disbelief, he retreated all the way and shot the demon away from a distance, it was a pity that the ape's speed was much faster than his. He started to get caught up in a short time.
Seeing Wei Feng in a bad situation finally Xin Chen chased after him, he currently did not have a capable weapon to unleash his fire power as well as lightning. The sword he was supposed to wear had also not finished being forged whereas the situation here was getting urgent.
Wei Feng's arrows had been exhausted, the man could only escape unable to put up a fight. Without arrows it was like a little mouse, the ape demon who had been wrathful because one eye was injured was unwilling to let Wei Feng off just like that.
As Xin Chen thought hard, the arrows he had brought were only two left. If he fought with the sword that he used, Xin Chen was sure that even a hundred slashes would not be able to tear the ape's skin.
"Come on... Think Chen, he'll soon be eaten by that monkey demon.." Xin Chen had intended to use the actual Death Rhythm but it was a pity that he had not had the time to study the book that the grandfather had given him.
"Without a sword or arrow.... What can I do?" Xin Chen brought out his strength back.
Wei Feng's life was already at the tip of the horn, now the man was already in the grasp of the ape demon and was preparing to have his bones crushed in a few seconds.
