Ch. 105 - Freezing the Heart
"Unfortunately the power of the special element is within that gem, Chen. I'm telling you, fighting against the power of the Snow Element is not an easy matter. Seeing you still as ordinary as this, I was honestly a bit astonished," the Lightning Fox said as she watched the change on Xin Chen's face.
"You've explained almost everything I'm going to face in the future. The only way to deal with it is to face the Dark Demon."
"Even in the future you have to sacrifice a lot of things?"
"If I die, I must die with the Dark Demon. I'll drag him to come with me to hell."
"Hahahaha," the Lightning Fox laughed inexhaustibly. "Looking at you growing up seems like an interesting thing. Your thinking isn't much different from your father's."
Xin Chen furrowed his brows for a moment, nor did he care how the Lightning Fox judged him. But regardless of the Fox as well Xin Chen knew many things, if it was true everything the Lightning Fox said then he should start moving from now on.
Xin Chen could only exhale heavily, for a moment he recalled his father's words first.
"Dad once said that if fear is like a snowflower, the colder the heart freezes, the more we don't want to get out of our stands. While sparks are like anger, the more wood there is on it, the greater the fire is rampaging."
"And you used that great fire to destroy the snowflowers."
"So, I don't think much about what happened either, whether it's the reason and the consequences. I just walk and finish what I think is my responsibility."
The situation became silent for a moment, it did not feel the longer they talked until night. Xin Chen thought of Ye Long. He took out something from his space ring.
"I forgot to open something. Master Fox, take a look at this scroll." He handed me a rather thick scroll. Made of fairly expensive materials. The scroll had been stolen by Xin Chen upon entering the headquarters of the Four Surveillance Units in Shengyou village. It was likely that this matter had something to do with Ye Long.
The Lightning Fox used its lightning power to bring out light for both of them to easily see at night.
"This-?"
"Originally Ye Long? Does this have anything to do with that Black Dragon?" xin Chen asked the contents inside the scroll and could not understand yet, he glanced at the Lightning Fox who seemed to be thinking hard.
"The Fox Master you know something?" Xin Chen asked once again because from earlier it was only kept quiet. He was quite curious about what the Lightning Fox was thinking to such a pensive state. Asking for an explanation on the Lightning Fox seemed a bit difficult to do, the fox instead rolled back the paper in his hand and handed it to Xin Chen.
"After this we should go see Shui."
"Shui?"
"Shui is a Water Dragon. We really need information from him regarding Ye Long. He should have known something about this."
Xin Chen nodded, he understood very well that in a situation like this asking a hundred times to the Lightning Fox would not pay off. He had to be patient at least until he found the answer directly from the Water Dragon.
"You still have the Blue Gem of Light?"
"Still..."
"Alright we will wait until tomorrow morning, we see Ye Long can still survive or not from the sting of the Lightning God."
"Then I will practice the Lightning Rain technique first."
"Chen, don't use your powers too much or you'll repeat the same thing as before. The power of the Lightning Element is not something you can take for granted."
"Yes, yeah. I-i know. I just want to master at least half of the power of the Lightning Rain. At least it's still more useful than doing nothing."
The Lightning Fox had already closed its eyes for meditation, Xin Chen opened his mouth shut while shrieking in annoyance. It's been long he spoke apparently heard just not.
The night sky still continued to rain, lightning faintly heard from a distance. As Xin Chen began his practice a high-speed lightning strike fell just like that, he was shocked instead of playing.
Before long the Lightning Fox was heard speaking, "Your power can provoke natural lightning if it is not controlled properly. Instead of killing the enemy you're more talented to kill yourself with that lightning bolt."
"Indeed how to control it, you don't seem to tell me anything about controlling the power of lightning."
Xin Chen turned around in order to see the Lightning Fox clearly, he realized the fox had indeed heard and was lazy to answer. Accustomed to the Thunder Fox's attitude like that he finally chose to be tired himself.
After trying at least three times in the same way Xin Chen was still deadlocked, the attacks from the natural lightning still continued to target him if he took out the power of his own. As for issuing the Rain Lightning style he needed to lure the lightning with his strength as well.
In the end Xin Chen paused for a bit, recalling the moment where the Lightning God issued his attack. That was because Xin Chen unleashed an enormous lightning power.
Xin Chen wanted to try something, he raised one of his hands and poured his lightning power upwards. This time he expended at least twenty percent of the lightning energy in his body. It was obvious that it was provoking the power of nature that was raging above the sky.
Within a second he could see faint lightning needles, which slowly formed and suddenly broke into a grain of light. And immediately a thunderstorm that was three times more dangerous came down to hit the earth.
Xin Chen knew that would happen and immediately dodged as soon as possible.
"The more I emit lightning energy the more there are lightning needles, and the more the damage becomes. But how to defend a lightning needle?" he muttered to himself. The Lightning Fox had already exemplified quite clearly earlier.
But what happened was somewhat different from what Xin Chen had experienced. In the hands of the Lightning Fox the forces of nature were like submissive and moving as the fox wished. Whereas in his hands the lightning was like fighting back, when he managed to create a lightning needle that was instantly broken and created precisely a high-powered lightning strike and attacked him.
In retrospect Xin Chen remained without an answer, he decided to keep trying until he found a bright spot.
At the same time the Lightning Fox opened its eyes slightly, seeing Xin Chen continue to practice like this and knowing that the Lightning Rain still could not be used Xin Chen made him annoyed. Lightning Rain is not the same as the style that humans usually have.
The power of the Lightning Element Spirit gifting flowed within the body of the Lightning Fox. That is what makes the natural energy from the sky can be controlled very easily.
It was different with Xin Chen who was in fact only human. The Lightning Fox finally spoke up after a while.
"Around here as I recall there's a place that's good enough to purify your lightning power."
"Purifying the power of lightning?"
