"Nightmist.." said Gavriel and Zolan's eyes widened in fear. He quickly made the prince lean against the wall and immediately checked his wound.
"Suckers. This is Nightmist!" Zolan.
Nightmist is the deadliest poison ever made because there is no known antidote. This poison can only be obtained by the royal family of vampires and it is said that there is little left for the nobles to possess. No one knows who created this poison. All they knew was that this Nightmist had been given to a queen a long time ago.
"No need to panic. This poison will kill a vampire in an instant, but you know this poison can't do much to me, let alone kill me." Gavriel said calmly. But the prince started to look a little paler than usual, and his eyes started to show a puzzled look.
Zolan knew that Gavriel had been poisoned before. Back then, it took him five days to fight and clear the poison in his body. Since this particular poison had no antidote, it was always an instant killer. But Gavriel managed to survive. Zolan theorized that the prince should be immune to the poison or that the blue blood flowing through his veins was the antidote. But then, why did it take so many days for the poison to linger in the prince's body before he could completely cleanse himself of the poison?
"Dam. I can't believe this is happening. Who can make this wound on you?!" Zolan's voice is deadly. "Is that Gallas?!"
Gavriel opened his eyes as he leaned his head against the wall and looked at Leon standing there, stunned and shocked. Gallas never made it close enough to injure him. All of his injuries came from Leon's skillful maneuvers. Leon himself still shaken, standing stiff and unblinking – tries to understand where or when Prince Gavriel has enough gaps to be introduced on the deadly Nightmist.
Aware of the dangerous poison, Gavriel never lets himself get hurt during his battle against vampires. But in the fight against the blaster, he was sure that the blaster would never do a dirty trick. They would never use poison because they were arrogant beings who also considered themselves to be the strongest and the only reason it was enough for them to resist strongly even if the emperor ordered it.
"It looks like Caius put poison on your sword without your knowledge." Gavriel taunts Leon who is still frozen.
The blaster pulled out his sword
and looking at him closer, carefully sniffing his sword. When he took out a faint trace of poison on it, a calm humiliation and fury immediately flared in his eyes.
He did not believe the crown prince had humbled himself and did this. He remembered that he had argued with the crown prince before they attacked Dacria at the request of the crown prince. It was then that the crown prince asked them to exchange swords for one round.
Leon fell to his knees, his sword clanging onto the ground. He could not believe the crown prince was so humiliating and deceiving his own men. "I deserve to die!"
"Wake, Leon. It's not your fault. Your death will be in vain. And like I said, it's not gonna kill me."
"Yes, you won't die" Zolan said. "But you'll spend days to—"
"Enough, Zolan." Gavriel. "This was one of the objectives in their attack. Since they doubted my origin, this poison was the easiest way for them to ensure that I was indeed a true noble descendant because they all knew that this poison killed everyone except the blue blood of vampires. This is a genius move I have to say. Caius really used his brain this time." Gavriel praised cynically.
At that moment, Samuel returned. The big man was surprised to see Gavriel leaning against the wall, but the prince did not let him ask.
"Report it now" demanded Gavriel, and Samuel informed him that Caius and his army had indeed left Dacria and were now heading for the imperial capital. "It seems Caius was also aware of what would happen to the nobles under Nightmist's influence." Gavril laughing.
"That's right. So, this is why he backed off. What a scary cat." Zolan sneered.
"Alright, you must take me to my confinement now before I start doing anything regrettable." Gavriel said, still in a funny voice. But what he said gave Zolan and Samuel a goosebump.
Samuel did not waste a single moment and immediately held Gavriel's arm and placed it on his shoulder. They then jumped towards the castle.
"Wait here and heal, Leon." Zolan told him half the blood before he followed Samuel and Gavriel.
The three quietly landed on one of the verandas of the castle. They headed straight to the library and Zolan immediately moved to one of the shelves that looked identical to the others in the room and fiddled with something there. A hidden wall suddenly opens, and Samuel supports Gavriel as they pass through the secret door. Another open road on the floor showed the stairs leading to darkness below.
Gavriel pulled away from Samuel and descended the dark staircase alone, using the wall to support himself. He turned around before his head disappeared into the darkness. "If Caius returns with his army, just release me from here."
"Yes, Your Majesty." Samuel nodded solemnly. "What about the princess? What should we tell him if he starts looking for you and asking questions?" Samuel was meticulous and covered all bases. She knew that Lady Evie would definitely ask her husband if he did not see her while the others were there.
Gavriel froze in shock. It had slipped his mind for a moment due to the effect of the poison on his mind.
He opened his mouth to answer but instead of the answer to give to Samuel, a groan came out of his mouth. His eyes began to change color in the darkness and the moment it lit up with an unholy light and locked onto them with a mind-numbing, bloodlust-deadening bloodlust, Zolan quickly grabbed Samuel and dragged him out of the secret passageway as the floor closed.
As soon as they stepped out of the secret door, the thick wall was quietly closed and all traces of it disappeared from sight, as if there was nothing there.

Last night, while the sounds of fighting raging from afar were intense, Evie could do nothing but just stand by the window, her fingers with white knuckle bones, desperately clutching the window frame as if he was surviving.
However, he was scared and worried half-dead about Gavriel.
He wished he could come down to the forefront at this moment just to peek at her for a bit, only to convince himself that she was fine. He could even accept that he would suffer some form of injury because this was war. All he needs to know is that he is alive and well.
When the consciousness finally sank into her awareness that the clashing sounds of fighting had stopped before noon, Evie found herself running out of her room and within a few moments, she came out on the veranda, leaning the body as far as he can to catch. a clue about something - about anything.
To his dismay, he could hear nothing but silence even after standing still for a long time and the silence was almost as frightening as he received some kind of bad news.
What could have happened since he was taken away from the battlefield? Is it over so soon? He had asked himself over and over again when suddenly, a roar echoed. It was the roar of victory.
The battle is over! But who won?
The contents of his stomach trembled violently due to the feeling of not knowing the outcome of this battle. Only now could he truly appreciate and know how this feeling was so unbearable. Gavriel. He wants to see her win. He promised her he'd come back to her, safe.
Earlier, Elias ran excitedly at her while she was in the park with a wide smile plastered on her face and happily told her that Dacria had won the war and that the imperial army had left.
Hearing the news, Evie could barely hold back the overflowing relief and pleasure in the depths of her heart until her knees almost collapsed and made her fall.
He didn't know how but he managed to calm himself down and grab onto something to prevent such a shameful thing from happening.
Upon hearing the news, Elias takes her to his room and tells her that he needs to rest now. Evie insists that she wants to wait for Gavriel but Elias says the prince has not been able to return to the castle because he still has a lot to settle and deal with.
Evi understands this. He knew that as their leader, Gavriel had to remain on the battlefield to oversee the logistics as well as the soldiers and their well-being as well. So, he forced himself to calm down and sleep, hoping that by the time he woke up, he would,
But even after waking up and nightfall, he waited with bated breath and agitated, Gavriel never returned to the fortress nor did she come to see him. He was a little worried because he knew he was okay. But if he was really okay, then what was holding him back?
She also had the feeling that the butler kept avoiding her every time she tried to question her and because of that, Evie started to become a little suspicious. It was a very clear sign that he was left out of something, as if there was a great secret that could not be told to him. From her previous interactions with him and their past experiences together, she now knows for sure that even if Gavriel is busy and holding something she cannot avoid,
"Elias, I want to go to the front line to see him." Evie caught the butler that morning and filed her demands firmly. "Because you're reporting that the war is now over, so there's no harm if I go there, right?" he reasoned that and Elias immediately panicked.
"Uhm... Princess..it..."
"I just want to meet him. I wouldn't go near him if he was busy. All I need is to take a quick look at it. One look.. Just to see that she's safe, and I'll be right back here." He pleaded with sparkling watery eyes.
The butler looked extremely troubled as he struggled to respond, making Evie's suspicions skyrocket.
"Daughter, you don't want to go there. The battlefield is still—"
"I'll be fine. Besides, this isn't the first time I've seen a dead body."
"But princess, the problem is—"
"Elias, are you hiding something from me?" Evie narrowed her eyes. He can't hold it anymore. The more they objected he went to the battlefield, the more he felt that his premonition that something was wrong was becoming stronger. "Is there really something wrong? We've won the war so why can't I see it? Tell me, where's my husband? You're not hiding anything from me, are you?"
Lady Evie when she was intending to dig into the matter was extremely difficult to deal with. While Elias, the butler who was always cool, even started to sweat and even felt cornered by this seemingly gentle and weak human woman, was, Zolan quickly came to his rescue and landed beside him like a cat.
"My Lady," the long-haired man caught her attention. "Your Majesty has left after settling the matters on the battlefield and conducting an important secret mission. So even if you go to the Wall, you won't be able to see it. I'm here to report to you about it. " Zolan reports as usual, like the army and without any change to his voice.
Evie stared at the man. Unlike the obvious butler, he knew with one look at Zolan that it was impossible for him to know whether he was telling the truth or giving him a reason they might have agreed upon before.
"Secret mission?" Evie could only ask with eyebrows raised towards her, but she made sure to show Zolan that she was unsure of her so-called "report.
The long haired man smiled. "Yes, Miss. I'm really sorry for reporting this a little late and worrying you. Please make sure that Prince Gavriel will be back soon. Please wait here a little longer. We cannot let you go to the wall because His Majesty has instructed us to keep you safe here until he returns. Hope you understand why we didn't let you go."
Biting the inside of her lips, Evie stared intently at Zolan for a long time before she voluntarily turned around and returned to her room.
Seeing him retreating, Zolan let go of the breath he had quietly held and lightly scratched the back of his neck, giving a sideways embarrassed look at Elias.
