Evie stiffened hearing his words but she maintained her indifference.
"Nothing happened."
"Look at me, Evielyn." He said firmly. And when Evie refused to obey, Gavriel took a deep breath, closed her eyes for a moment, and opened them again.
"Don't make me repeat ..."
Evie finally turned around, and she could not believe that even at this moment, the stunning beauty of the man before her could still make her breath get stuck in the throat.
Why does he have to be so charming?
Trying her hardest to hide her emotions from him, Evie looked at him with emotionless eyes.
The muscles on Gavriel's cheek beat along his jaw but he remained silent for a long time, as if he was going through an internal battle inside him while observing his wife's face.
"Well, I won't ask why you're acting like this again." Her gaze softened.
"Why don't you just ask me, wife? Will you dig in and find out the reason why I can't spend the day with you?" it sounded her very alluring voice, persuading him.
Evie bit the inside of her lips.
Wh why? Why does he have to be like this? Stop Gavriel…
Forcing herself to remember the pain and telling herself that it was only the beginning of the chaos she would experience if she continued to introduce herself to him, Evie managed to refrain from giving up.
He looked into his eyes and had to gulp before he could say,
"I wouldn't do that, Your Majesty. I have no right to be angry even if you spend the day with someone else and I have no right to ask why you can't spend the day with me. So, I won't do that because it's selfish of me to refuse your needs because I'm the one who won't allow you to touch me."
Gavriel did not move at all and they just stood very close as Evie took a deep breath into her lungs, quietly strengthening herself inside. The implications of his words severely hit Gavriel.
She laughs. It was a small sound of ridicule coming out from his lips as his face became tense.
And then, he looked at her in petrified silence.
For some reason, what he said broke through Gavriel's layer of control.
"So, we're back to this again, yeah. You consider me nothing more than a dirty monster, don't you?" he finally made a sound, after a while. His voice was restrained but bruised and angry.
"Well then, since that's how you look at me, I might as well do what you expect of me properly and go spend the night with as many women as possible available in this castle." He fizzed and then left the room.
His hands ruffled his hair viciously, Gavriel clenched his hands tightly. He could not believe he had just said those words.
He could not believe how angry he was now because he had to force himself to leave from before him for fear that he would explode in anger. He simply did not believe that he could push him to the edge of his sanity so easily.
God, why did he say those words? Why was he so angry that he still didn't believe her at all? Not even a month later they got married.
He should have understood that he still could not believe it. But...why is he still unable to believe her after all this? Scoundrel. No one can make him this emotional.no one can make him lose his temper like this better than him.
Cursing inwardly, Gavriel nearly smashed the pillar with his fist.
It was fortunate that he had managed to stop himself because he did not want to scare her. The thought that he might have thought there was an earthquake, or a disaster that happened finally stopped him and he immediately laughed again.
He left their room because he felt an increasing anger within him and he did not want to show his anger. He didn't want her to be afraid of him - not because he hadn't done it yet.
He could only curse again. He needs to do something to calm down. Its bad. He made her act like she wasn't himself!
They were among the women that Duke and other officials introduced to him years ago.
"Your Majesty, we've come to escort you." One of them said, smiling sweetly at him.
Gavriel groans but she doesn't even suspect anything suspicious because her brain is too preoccupied with Evie and her emotions. So, without question, Gavriel followed the women, thinking that the nobleman was asking for her.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Evie gripped the robe on her chest. Her bruised and completely offended expression as well as the anger in her voice .. she remembers she wore the same face when she confronted him about Thea.
Could it be that he came to the wrong conclusion again this time? But the words of the woman and the noble that she agreed…
Suddenly, his body moved on its own as he rushed towards the door, to chase after him.
However, once he was in the corridor, his legs froze when he saw him enter a room with the two beautiful women.
As the door closed; evie felt as if something had completely shattered inside her. And it seemed to suck all of his life's blood from his limbs until there was nothing left of him.
He just stood there, staring at the closed door far from where he stood, his mind blank.
Finally, his legs moved, and he turned to where he came from. He walked silently until he entered their room. The door closed quietly behind him.
His gaze fell onto the closed window before he approached it, suddenly pushing it wide open to let the freezing cold wind blow into the room and hit him.
The tears that threatened to spill before did not come, only a numb pain.
His robe fell to the floor and he drew closer to the window as if hoping the air froze the pain in his heart and mind as well.
Gazing expressionlessly into the space outside, the corner of his lips curved upwards as he sucked in all despair, so deep that it made it hard to breathe. Oh, Evie…
He laughed expressionlessly. The thought that maybe this was his punishment for trying to renege on his promise not to fall in love with her made him feel even more miserable and wretched.
Gavriel finally lifts his head from the annoying thoughts of his wife that plague his mind and realizes that there is no one else in the room except the women who are with him. This made him squint his eyes dangerously.
The braver of the two women had already undressed in front of him.
"Your Majesty, we know you're in a very bad mood. Is your wife kicking you out of bed again? Don't worry, we're here to serve and please you, Your Majesty." Another woman whispered to him as she stroked his chest seductively.
"Let us help you relax." He added as another woman approached him, naked.
Gavriel felt the fury he was trying so hard to suppress burst out rapidly from him.
"Who gave you two permission to do this!?" he growled with a cold and hostile voice.
"Y-Your Majesty, please don't think of anything else and—"
His eyes instantly burned red, and an aura flared out, it caused the women to be thrown backwards a few steps and they even began to tremble just by looking at her fiery red eyes and the dark and stifling power that was radiating within her. The evil aura that swelled around him felt like it was suffocating them. Why was the prince so angry at them?
"My answer." He doesn't have to raise his voice. But with it sounding so angry and threatening, it instantly made the vampires cower in fear.
"S.. the duke.he told us to come here to serve you as soon as your wife kicked you out ..."
The women's confession shocked Gavriel as she stared at them in disbelief for a few seconds before she screamed for her butler's head as she walked out of the room.
"Yes, Your Majesty, you're calling?" Elias panted as he ran, realizing the prince's current temperament was volatile.
"Did the duke really send these women here into the castle?" he grinded with tightly clenched teeth, barely holding back his anger. His eyes were like red blood, spitting out lava.
