Marrying the Vampire Prince

Marrying the Vampire Prince
chapter 42's

Reluctantly, he finally subsided and pulled the blanket over him. He would stand up when Evie reached out and pulled out her robe.

"Where ... where will you go?" he asked, his face suddenly anxious as his fingers tightened on his robe unwittingly.

"I have a duty to take care of." He replied, as his gaze tilted towards the door and a commotion was going on outside for a long time now.

"Tasks?"

"Md. Don't worry, I won't leave again without telling you first." he smiled in satisfaction and kissed her forehead, causing her body color to rise again. "I'll be back as soon as I deal .. as soon as I finish saying a few words to them."

...

The Duke and everyone involved were waiting anxiously in the silent and tense throne hall as they all stood before Gavriel.

When they were suddenly summoned by the prince with such urgency, they could not help but feel threatened. Besides being stubborn, Prince Gavriel was a good and very wise leader. He was the type of ruler who did not make his people serve him out of fear because he never acted rashly or according to his emotions. Until now, she had never made a decision worthy of criticism except for her marriage to a human daughter and regarding her lineage. He had almost no flaws, if not for the fact that he was so adamant about being a one-woman man. If only she had not married a human.

"I see that everyone does not want to respect my decision now" said Gavriel, sitting in his chair in a completely relaxed manner.

"Your Majesty. Please understand us. It's not about disrespecting your decision. We are just doing our best to help you. You know that, having an heir is the only way to secure your bloodline and you know we're running out of time!" The old duke exploded. "This is the only way for us, your people, to feel at ease! We just want to protect you and your bloodline!"

Silence enveloped the throne hall after the explosion of the old Duke as everyone was now staring at the prince with intensity, showing him their determination not to regret the actions they took.

However, their opposing desires do not last longer than a few seconds when something heavy, dark, and unpleasant suddenly creeps up on their skin.

Gavriel laughed softly but after hearing that quick and soft voice, for some reason, it sounded like the most sinister thing, which they had heard for a long time.

"So, it's all because you're all here actually scared to death, huh." said Gavriel. Everyone gasped at where they stood, except for his five personal elite warriors. He got up from his seat. His aura was so heavy that they felt like something poisonous and demons were seeping out of his body.

The vampires, even the old duke and some of the ancient vampires around him could swear that they had never experienced anything like this before. They were astonished and completely frightened with just this prince approaching them? Just what's going on?

Before they knew it, Gavriel was right in front of the Duke, his hand had already landed heavily on his shoulder.

"It seems, I have no choice but to teach you a lesson." He whispered and something inexplicable happened.

Everyone fell to their knees as if a force had just pushed them down. And they are helpless. Terror filled their eyes as they stared at the prince. Their gazes were filled with fear and confusion, asking themselves who this person was before them. What did he do to them?

Gavriel's gaze was bright but very cold. It's colder than anything they've ever seen. These were not the eyes of the prince they knew.

"You all listen carefully .." he spoke, looking at them. "There's nothing you need to fear but me. I swear to protect this place... I will destroy anyone who dares to approach him with my own two hands..."

"So, all you have to do is obey me and never dare. Because next time there'll be bloodshed."

As soon as the door of the throne hall closed behind the prince and his men, the vampires finally sighed and moved. Their knees were still slightly trembling as they stood up one by one.

"I've never experienced anything like this before." One of the gray-haired ancient vampires said to the duke. "I don't remember past royalty having such power either. What kind of power does he have?"

"I don't know." Duke shook his head, but a smile played on his lips. "But now I understand what the late empress said earlier ... He told me that the prince was much stronger than we could have imagined. And he was certain that one day, he would definitely take back this kingdom with his own strength. So, this is what he meant when he told me that all we needed was him."

"Your Majesty, don't you think you're overreacting?" Zolan who was walking beside Gavriel said as the six men walked through the corridor.

"agree. Some of them were shaking violently." Levy nodded while yawning lazily. Although the men actually thought that everyone in the hall was actually lucky. Because if the prince had not managed to resolve this misunderstanding and the princess had become increasingly distant from him, they were sure that the great hall would have smelled of blood by now.

"But I guess, they're finally gonna stop freaking out right now."

"Oh yeah, they won't be afraid of the emperor anymore because they are more afraid of His Majesty now." His men shook their heads.

Gavriel pinched the skin between his eyebrows and sighed. There was no longer a trace of darkness that he showed in the throne hall.

"That's better. Scaring them was better than me losing control and ending up killing one or more of them. After all, they are my subjects." He stopped and looked at Samuel. "So? Why did you leave your post and come here?"

"I just came to tell you that the crown prince is really planning an attack." The big man said, causing Gavriel to rub his neck lazily. "And we know he might be carrying a mixed-blooded vampire."

Gavriel's expression immediately changed. "Half the blood yes," he murmured, and something sparkled in his eyes. "At least, he takes me quite seriously then."

"Yes, Your Majesty. That's why I'm sorry but you're wrong if you think you have the luxury of living with your wife in the near future. You have to be on the front line at all times because we don't know when.they'll suddenly launch their attacks." Samuel responded casually and as all men expected, Gavriel cursed unhappily.

However, a moment later, Gavriel's dark face shone and he smiled smugly and mischievously, making his men wonder what tricks he made this time.

"There's a way for me to stay with him in this situation Samuel." He said, looking pleased with the solution he found.

All the eyes of his men stared at him and waited for what he would say next. "Since I can't leave the front line, I'll take him there." He grinned widely, satisfied with his own solution.

Everyone: ". . ."

Gavriel: "When they come, I will only ask one of you to immediately send him back to the castle. Problem solved."
