Marrying the Vampire Prince

Marrying the Vampire Prince
chapter 18's

"She's human so she can only be your wife for decades to come, Gavriel. As dia—"

"Enough." He cut it off and Thea was once again surprised by the intensity of her voice.

"I can wait for you so there's no need to end our engagement. Several decades not too long—"

"I said, enough." His voice was not loud but the violence and cold within it rocketed.

Even his calm attitude was gone. Thea's lips were split in shock because of the darkness she emitted just to make her close her mouth.

Wh why? Why is this guy acting like this now?

His relationship with Gavriel was no different than that of the human girl. The man was married to her simply because of politics as well. So why would he react like he hates the fact that he is pointing out an outspoken fact?

Thea felt her blood boiling, not realizing that her eyes had turned red.

"No matter what you say, I will never let our engagement end. I told you, I don't mind waiting for you. After all, it looks like your wife doesn't mind at all, Your Majesty."

As if something had broken inside him, Gavriel froze for a moment. Her reaction did not escape Thea's eyes and she grinned inwardly.

"I know he's okay with that. From what I observed, he might not even care if you take another wife. Now I wonder .. does he even like you, Your Majesty? He must have seen you as nothing but a monster like all humans—"

"Thea."

With just that one word, Thea clenched her mouth tightly. The coldness that enveloped his body forced him to involuntarily flinch backwards.

No one has ever mentioned his name like that before. The voice was filled with dangerous warnings that sounded very similar to death coming knocking on his door early, making him more afraid than the sound of the emperor or his father's rampage.

Y-when did this guy change so much? When did he become this scary?

He stepped closer and bowed. His killing aura was barely veiled and his eyes were extremely cold, as if something was sucking up all the light in his pair of beautiful eyes that the moon kissed.

"Listen, and listen carefully" he whispered.

"Evie will be mine and hold"

Before Gavriel finished his sentence, Samuel appeared from the door.

As soon as Gavriel looked into Samuel's eyes and received reports that his wife had left the dance hall, he jumped off the veranda and his three men followed behind him, not even glancing at the woman he had left behind.

When she was in the air, she saw her beautiful rose under the moonlight flowing down the stairs as if she was trying to run across the vast garden, all the way to the palace gate.

He landed right in front of him, causing Evie to gasp.

"Wife," he said as he approached her.

"You want to go home now? Come on, I'll carry you—"

"No!" Evie's cry is sharp against the silence of the night and the low baritone Gavriel. His voice even broke as he stretched out his hand to stop him from touching her.

"What's wrong? Are you all right? Did something happen?" he asked worriedly, but Evie gritted her teeth and pushed her outstretched hand.

"There's nothing! Nothing's going on! You go back to your fiancee now. Elias can take me home!" he yelled at her as he continued to push his outstretched hand and actively avoided her touch like a plague.

His eyes were burning and filled with astonishment as he looked at her.

"Wife, are you jealous?" he slightly tilted his head as he asked and Evie turned to the frozen statue.

Holy hooch! Wh-what is he doing?! What is he doing?!! This is impossible.he can't act like this! Nah! Nah! This can't happen!

The silence that followed Gavriel's question was deafening because Evie was completely dumb.

Her lips trembled slightly as she could only stare at him with wide-eyed eyes. No matter how much she tried, she could not deny the shocking and unfamiliar emotions that flooded her heart ever since she saw him dancing with Thea. The question hit him hard.

"No! Of jealousy?! W-why should I be jealous?!" He stuttered as he took a step back, shaking his head forcefully as if to convince himself of the statement, as he dropped his eyes to the ground, dodging Gavriel's eyes.

Gavriel watched him closely and something glistened in his eyes.

His thin lips twitched slightly as if he was holding back a smile.

In the end, he clamped his lower lip between his perfect white teeth and quietly looked elsewhere to find out his position.

When she returned her gaze to him, her expression was serious but gentle. He took a step closer, but Evie retreated, causing him to sigh.

"Look at me, wife." Her voice is warm and attractive. But Evie turned away, showing her blatant resistance.

"If you're not jealous, then why are you reacting like this?"

Evie's grip on her skirt tightened and she felt her body would tremble.

"I said, no! I just want to leave this place, now!" she screamed at him, not realizing that he looked as if he was about to cry.

Gavriel was silent and silent. His look never left his face. After a moment of observing his despairing face, his low and hoarse voice filled the silence.

"Okay, I get it. I'll take you home now."

He offered his hand and Evie's gaze was fixed on him. Why does he always do this? Why does he always offer his hand like this? He had just shouted at her, yet she was still…

he's still…

Evie knows that whenever she receives this big, warm, strong hand, she lets the man get one step closer to her. And if she is honest with herself – one step closer to her heart too.

Ever since their eyes first met on the eve of their wedding, Evie has been running with this adrenaline and emotion centered on the man before her. He could not believe that this was only a few days old and he had already overwhelmed this.

Evie begins to feel fear and worry because she is not stupid to not understand the reasons behind her own actions and emotions.

At this rate, if he were to let it get closer than this, he was afraid of the consequences. That's unimaginable!

Tightening her grip on her skirt harder, Evie steeled herself. His gaze still had not landed on his person even once.

"I want Elias to bring me back. Please come back inside, the party is not over yet. I'll be fine on my own" Evie said firmly. His voice was now softer but more resolute with strong determination as his gaze turned everywhere except on his face.

Evie waited for him to pull his hand and when he didn't, he started to feel a little anxious. Is his rejection not enough? As he struggled to think about his next move, Gavriel spoke.

"I'm afraid your request is coming a little late now, wife. Everyone was gone a while ago."
