Marrying the Vampire Prince

Marrying the Vampire Prince
chapter 31's

Evie pursed her lips, seeing that she seemed to be enjoying her little teasing game. But he really wanted to know what the good news was.

"You .. flirting." Though she complains, she steps closer to Gavriel who finally bites her lower lip again perhaps to stop herself from laughing.

"Come closer, wife."

He pressed his lips tighter and despite the hesitation, he still complied, causing Gavriel's eyes to become brighter.

Evie steeled herself as she continued to approach Gavriel. They were already too close, and their faces were only a few inches apart! He did not dare to look at her and just continued to stare straight at her chest while waiting with anticipation.

She finally bent down, so close that her lips felt like they were lightly touching her ears. She knew it was not, but her cold breath caressed her ears and she could not help feeling confused.

"My wife is finally moving on me."

He retreated, looking at her. "What?"

He bowed again, this time, his breath sweeping across his cheek.

"He almost kissed me. It was the first time he moved on to me."

Evie was so silent that her jaw dropped. And then his face became red like a cooked lobster as Gavriel retreated with a satisfied and somewhat seductive smile.

"You don't have to do it secretly my wife, you're always welcome to jump on me and devour me at any time. Anyway, I'm yours." He added with an evil laugh and Evie felt her whole body was going to explode from the heat.

"I... I don't...it—" he stuttered so badly and even before he could form a reasonable sentence and regain his demeanor, he said, Gavriel retreated and pulled his collar as if he was in a hurry to take off his clothes. .

Evie's eyes instantly widened, and her body stiffened, but when she looked into his face, she closed her eyes as she unbuttoned her shirt.

"The officials were talking too much. I had already tried to escape in the midst of that bloody encounter, but they remained as elusive as ever. They already know how to force me to stay with them, those cunning old men..." He complained, stretching his neck from left to right, producing a small cracking sound as if he was really tired.

Looking at her, Evie was surprised at how humane she looked and acted right now. Her appearance was as godly as ever, but she felt a little more human when she was disheveled.

He would never have thought that he was tired if he had not heard from Elias some time ago when they were touring the castle that Gavriel had not slept in the last four days in a row.

Elias of course tells her that it's no big deal because vampires can survive for days without a good night's sleep.

But Evie had heard earlier from her father that the limit a vampire can go without sleep is three days.

They can move well even without sleep or rest for three days in a row but after three days, his father says that vampires will start moving more slowly, and that the, and their strength would also be reduced to slightly weaker than usual.

The butler tells him that Gavriel is fine and that he can even leave without rest for a few more days, but that does not erase the slightest worry in his heart for him.

And before he knew it, he had approached her and reached out to help her take off her clothes.

Gavriel immediately stopped his movements, looking at him in surprise. His shy and wary little wife helped him take off his shirt?

Evie remembers her parents. Whenever his father arrived home after a meeting with the emperor or from the war, his mother was always there to support and help him in every little thing.

She did not allow the servants to help her husband take off his robe and shirt. Her mother had told her that this was not only because it was her duty as his wife, but also because it was her way of showing her support and concern to her husband.

Evie doesn't know if she's doing the right thing or not. She is well aware that her marriage to Gavriel is not like her parents based on their love for each other.

They are a love couple, while hers and Gavriel are not – it is a transaction. And he shouldn't end up caring about her. He sighed in his mind and thought how messed up his situation became in just this short time of being here in the vampire realm.

But no matter what, she was still his legal wife and recalled the fact that Gavriel had chosen to take her away from the capital for her safety and ended up being branded as a traitor, Evie could no longer force herself to continue hardening her heart towards him and continued to regard him as her enemy.

Suddenly, he bowed, and he buried his head in the curve of his neck.

"Evie.." she said her name, her voice becoming hoarse. Evie felt goosebumps forming on her skin because never before had her name sounded so seductive from the lips of others.

He waited for what he was going to say next with bated breath, but nothing else came. He just kept quiet and stayed in that position.

"Y-yes?" Evie managed to say. His heart began to beat harder.

 "Are you okay?"

"Ap...what's up? Should I call Elias—"

"No." he cut it off, still not moving at all.

Evie slowly raised her hand to touch his arm. He felt his muscles contract when touched. And he's cold.

Her eyes widened and her heart rate accelerated because she knew that she was unlike any other vampire

. Gavriel is never cold to the touch, but very warm.

"I don't think you're all right." Panic is evident from his voice.

"Do you feel anxious?" he asked and even his breath on his skin felt cold, he could not help but shiver.

"Of course. Please let me call someone ..."

He felt her smile and he retreated, his eyes glittering as he looked at her.

"No need, wife. I don't need anyone else to help me."

"But .." he was about to protest but somehow he knew that the number of objections he raised would be futile.

"Then, what do you want me to do? How can I help you?" he asked, unable to hide his panic anymore.

"Let me touch you."

A hot and heavy hoarse voice with desire, completely scorching it with intense heat from its intensity.

And Evie can't talk. His tongue was swollen, and his mouth was locked tightly.

He was transfixed by his glittering eyes that were holding him so tightly, rendering him unable to move. He did it again, seduced her, hypnotized her and she could not help but fall helpless under a deadly welcome spell but somehow this killed her every desire, thought, and hesitation.

"Is that too much for me to ask?" his voice came out like a groan of pain but a moment later, it became deeper, hoarse, darker and hungrier than before.

 "Then...how about a kiss? Let me kiss you, Evie.just a kiss. I won't touch, I promise."

His words, his closeness, his electric gaze, and the erotic gusts of his cold breath on his lips turned Evie's mind into mush.

He couldn't even keep up with his heart rhythm anymore. And before he knew it, he nodded.

"O-okay. Just kiss.. without a touch......" He doesn't know what made him agree, but maybe he somehow realized that the man would stick around until he answered – and answered for sure.

He was afraid that he might actually lose himself and end up being the one to jump at him like he told him a while ago instead of him jumping at him.

Her body's reaction to him made her realize how dangerous this husband was.

He is a man who can make a woman strip themselves and throw themselves at him with just a whisper – no, it wouldn't even require a whisper since his own eyes were enough to woo thoroughly.

And to her confusion and a little anger, she was no exception. Despite all the stakes, he could not stop his body from reacting.

And that's why he can only give up. The thought that his body would betray him at this rate frightened him.

After all, it was just a kiss, he thought. That wouldn't be anything serious .. right? It was just a kiss. And he had saved her from the clutches of death three times now. He could chalk this up as a way to show his gratitude.

"Ci.. just kiss, okay?" he repeated as he looked at her in a daze.

Gavriel's intense gaze glittered as if what he saw and heard back then had really fascinated him.

"Oh yes, my wife, I promised not to touch you until you asked me to."

The next thing he knew, his back was leaning against the concrete window frame. As promised, she had not touched him, but her eyes had moved him backwards without him noticing.

He held one hand over his head to the window frame and the other to the wall on his shoulder.
